Ah, I'll leave you to that, haven't seen anything to draw me towards believing in either a 'soul' or flying people rapture stuff.

Yes and other ancient books too.
Here is a snip from a site talking about zombie references from the bible.
m.crosswalk.com...

Belief in Zombies is nothing new. The first recorded mention of flesh-eating dead is in The Epic of Gilgamesh. Witch doctors and voodoo practitioners in Haiti and throughout the Caribbean have utilized zombies in pagan worship for hundreds of years. Witch doctors are said to exercise complete control over these sad creatures no longer human. More than a few Biblical passages seem to talk about Zombies. Let me share several examples:

"The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended"
(Revelation 20:5)

"This is what the Sovereign Lordsays to these bones: I will make breathenter you, and you will come to life" (Ezekiel 37:5).

"Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt" (Daniel 12:2).

"And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths" (Zechariah 14:12).

Jesus declared in John 6:53-57:“Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.

When zombie enthusiasts read these words from the lips of Jesus it's no wonder that they wonder if Jesus was a zombie. Jesus instituted the new covenant of love sealed in his flesh and blood: "And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.' And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying,

“This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you" (Luke 22:19-20).

As Christians we must certainly affirm that Jesus drank the cup ate the flesh and was a dead corpse who came back to life by a bodily resurrection. However, the difference between biblical truth and fanaticized zombies is the difference between reanimation and resurrection.

I left out the stuff that disagrees with my point.

That is a very good question. FlyersFan touches briefly on this in her post about Darby. For instance until I saw the video Daniel's Timeline, and began to dig deeper into why the deception, I didn't know that Darby had actually written his own 'version' of the Bible. It is called the Scoffield Edition. Many, many veres have been left out, or adjusted, to fit Darby's line of interpretation. One can only see what can be deemed to be the closest version of the "truth" from the King James version. I certainly don't wish to go deeply into how many times, or edits, the Bible has been through, I get it. It is my opinion, though, the King James version is the closest. I am also aware that many books have been withheld from all versions, based on what some people deem we are not prepared to hear.

But, I digress. Darby had, as FlyersFan stated, something of a cult following. If you look at it from a religous point of view, he is a false teacher. "No one shall add to, nor remove from these words", which is exactly what he did. On a scholarly point of view, it is equally deceptive when you mold, edit, or change a document to support your personal belief system.

The thing is, the Scoffield Bible got out there enough that many people did believe in it.

Why do I feel they are deceptive now? I can only answer based on some interviews that I have seen. Some believe that their congregations are not prepared to handle the truth, or, would reject the truth now after having been miseld for so long. Simply put it is easier to continue the lie rather than put the effort into trying to repair it. Some say it is better to have people going to Church, than to have them lose faith because they discover they have been deceived all these years and leave the church alltogether.

Some support Darby, yet, to this day, and simply will continue to teach his version of the Bible.

Whether you look at it from a religous or intellectual point of view, regardless, both are intentional deception, because both know that the version of their truth is not real, but one mans' interpretation of the Bible.

youtu.be...

This video is short, and helps explain a little about Darby, and how his Scoffield Bible came about, and was changed from the King James version, in particular, to support the pre-trib rapture theory.

Is rapture relating to the 144000, which is just numerology and 9, 9's being the end of their cycles, ie mature, altruistic, etc, and also related according to what someone shared with me, contact. Which of course does make sense since these are people who get: equality, don't like anger or reactions in themselves, and strive to try and bring peace or draw out the good in others, and contribute their gifts to others, mostly without concepts of reward.

Its not a limited number. And the way a person is "raptured" is usually when the sliver cord breaks:

Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

Remember him--before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Now we could be expecting a miracle such as some have spoken of, Dolores Cannon and the two earths, a grand miraculous cycle where everything goes up as some who believe in physical ascension.

But to me, having discovered gnostic gems and inner meanings in the bible, things you have to dig for, it seems that its all inner.

So ascension is achieving Higher Mind and guidance during your life, thus helping others, ie, more connecting to Higher Self.

But in ufology lore and stories, and even in native legends, people have been taken to crafts, often children, or underground, like the ant people legend and the hopi, when disasters happen.

We don't know, just that its a really good idea to work for a future and clean technology and not buy into any of this, but I also send up SOS's because of the criminal harm to earth and people the elite are doing with their weapons and weather modification and nuclear.

Right now, dolphins and whales are being raptured via the radiation, methanes, the chemicals used after BP, in the oceans, and all of nature is harmed by chemicals, toxins and GMO's. The list if we only knew the full of it, is bad.

But I believe it can be mitigated and turned around by humans waking up and wanting a good world of clean high tech, caretaking nature and respecting life, creating equality with sovereign rights and freedoms and thinking out of the box.

Much of the book of Revelation will only be understood completely when it actually happens, which is why NOW we can see it. -

How can one falling star poison a third of all the fresh water on the planet? If it was truly a star then it would cause far more devastation than poisoning the water.

I've often wondered if the intent behind that deception is to shake the faith of those who believed it when they find they are still on earth suffering through these events with the rest of the world?

You nailed it IMHO. The Rapture cult is soul-candy. It tastes great but, in the end, it is bad for you. People are counting on an 'easy out' and when they are faced with tribulations .... POW .... the illusion is shattered and their faith is as well. The faith is based on not suffering, but we have seen clearly that everyone suffers .... saints and sinners alike .... no one gets out of tribulation.

The rapture cult. It's downright evil, IMHO.

Guess what? Back in the year 1000 they thought the "rapture" was supposed to happen as well. Hundreds of thousands got up and waited for the millennial return gazing at the sky with fear and anxiety. Then they began to disbelieve. When it didn't happen the Church was terrified their power and money would be at risk, the church decided to get everyone's mind off of it by waging a religious war. It was called the Crusades.

An asteroid could do it. That is what people have called meteorites for ages now, is it not? Shooting stars? Perhaps not scientifically accurate but a common term.

If a large enough asteroid hit the earth, it could very well poison the waters if it was big enough to kill all the living things in the water (and land) around it. Bodies of water and even rivers would be filled with the carcasses of whatever creatures weren't instantly obliterated, and rendered undrinkable or "poisoned".

We shouldn't take the language used to describe the object literally in modern scientific terms, since the authors were not scientifically literate, and would have described whatever dreams or visions they had in terms they were familiar with.

I do not believe in the rapture, or god really but if all the children and the people who do believe suddenly disappeared then I would likely change my tune. What a bizarre thought the rapture is. I read the whole Left Behind series, loved it but still don't believe it.

The bummer about the rapture if it was real, is that it would take the people off the earth I would most want to spend my time with and leave the ones I really don't. I'd miss my kids more than anything. I guess I would be happy at the prospect of spending a thousand years on earth with them after the whole debacle with the Devil and God went down. Vitamins, herbal remedies really would not matter though right? If you become a believer would you not end up with Jesus when you die? What would collecting things matter at that point?

Personally i'd be just as happy maybe even happier if aliens swooped down and took my family and I and some other worthy folks off to some wonderful planet filled with happiness and rainbows. I don't mean disrespect when I say that either. Earth is filled with hate, cruel people and murder, rape, pedophiles, war, nukes, etc... I would rather live in a place untouched by those sort of things, than inherit the sickness of earth later on. When I watch/read The Stand I think oh "how wonderful that sounds" but sickness/evil never really leaves a place once it digs its heals in, sometimes it just burrows a little deeper.

I read way too many science fiction novels.

The rapture will be visible to everyone, so the government really won't be able to cover it up or lie about it. People will still be able to get saved after the rapture, with the exception of those who take the mark of the Beast.

Most Christians don't believe in the rapture.

Most "Christians" don't even believe in Heaven...

Hell is FULL of so called "Christians" who were only SAYERS instead of DOERS!

The two angels escorted me to Hell. They said, “Now you will visit Hell.”…There are multitudes of churches on the Earth and many of the churches are filled with many people. However, most of them are not true Christians. They are but church attendants. The true churches will firmly believe in Heaven and a Hell. The lives of many Christians are in chaos because they do not firmly believe in Heaven and Hell. When one soul enters Heaven, one thousand cursed souls enter Hell. The rate of Heaven and Hell is 1 to 1000.” (Matt 7:14)

Heaven & Hell 1000 to 1

Bishop Wilfred Lai is the founder and senior Pastor of Jesus Celebration Center in Mombasa, Kenya and it is a church of over 15,000 members. One day he asked the Lord how many of them were ready for heaven and the Lord told him only 200. Only 1% of that church is going to heaven!

Dr. Lai said that some pastors have created large groups of sinners meeting in the name of God. “What you have are not churches, but large congregations of sinners.”

Message from Pastor Wilfred Lai

And in the end, most people will unfortunately receive the Mark of the beast #666. Many Christians will get it because they were never warned by their Church. (Revelations 13:15-18) This is why The Lord is saying that less than 1% of Pastors and less the 10% of Christians will hear the trumpet sound.

In early 2009, I truthfully received the following message from God:

"The Alien/UFO phenomenon will be used to explain the Rapture to non-believers."

In early 2009, I received the rapture message from God, “The alien/Ufo phenomenon will be used to explain the rapture to non-believers.” Approximately a month or so after receiving the rapture message, my wife and I were followed by a diamond-shaped ufo for almost four hours (as described in the Lying Star article/sketches at bottom of blog). This UFO was not some “alien” spacecraft as these evil spirits would have liked us to believe – it was in fact a demonic manifestation. A very real manifestation that I’m sure other drivers on the road could see as well. Speaking of ‘real’, it has shocked me from the very beginning how real all of this truly is. There is a real war going on behind the scenes for souls. aliensrevealed.blogspot.com...

"I received the message from God concerning the rapture being explained-away by the satanic "alien/UFO" lie. I've read the work of various "Biblical Scholars" who never so much as mention this "alien/UFO" deception. Furthermore, I remain convinced that one cannot have a clear understanding of what the people will be going through during the 7 year Tribulation period without this knowledge. In my opinion, Satan will keep this lie going throughout the Tribulation period- going so far as to lead the world's armies to armageddon under a possible false premise of Intergalactic Warfare (Rev. 16:13-16). This may sound silly during the time of this writing, but during the Tribulation period-this lie will lead many away from the truth of Jesus Christ. All my praise to Jesus!"

I take it you believe in the pre-tribulation rapture? Instead of posting unrelated material and making unfounded insinuations, would you like to tell us why you feel there is scriptural support for a pre-tribulation rapture?

Am I in error in my interpretation of the passage from Matthew I posted on the first page? If so why? A constructive dialog usually accomplishes more than telling people they are going to hell for not believing in something that is not supported by scripture.

ETA:

If I'm not mistaken, as Christians we should be concerned about the salvation of others, and correct other Christians if we find they are in error:

Matthew 18:15-17
King James Version (KJV)
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

"Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted" (Galatians 6:1)

So clearly, if a fellow Christian is in error, you should correct them gently, no? Or am I misinterpreting these passages as well? If so, how?

Not that i believe in this stuff, but if it went down that way. I would certainly just stand around in befuddlement for the rest of my time.

I think a better recourse would be to band together and fight jesus as a team. We would have better odds that way. Anyone with nards has a significant weakness that could be easily used against them. Uh uunng. No hellfire for me. I 'll go down fighting.

Yes that is true but I believe he will be a man and come from the Roman Empire. His nationality is uncertain but will be from Rome. He will also survive a mortal head wound and actually dies and satan enters and he's back and fully functioning. Creepy! It is also possible that he moved there. He will solve world problems, perform false miracles, then proclaim to be God and demand everyone worship him. It will be subtle at first then obvious to everyone. Even the brightest of the population will be deceived by him. People will admire him, in the beginning though.

On the other hand I wouldnt advise you to join a team to fight Jesus. Do you want to gamble with your soul?

Yes this is true but even when people see they refuse to believe! He will come roaring in the clouds, people will fall to their knees. It is important to be ready rather than staying behind. He does come like a thief in the night, when we arent expecting it.

The book of Revelation is NOT predictions or prophecy's of past, present or future historical events. It is written in the very first verse it is written by signifying in signs in and metaphors. There is nothing in the old or new testimony scriptures that supports the doctrines of what is called the "apocalypse".It is the Greek word which means unveiling. In the first verse John says it is the unveiling of Yahoshua(Jesus) the anointing(christ).....Yahoshua means Yawheh (the creator God ) is salvation/deliverance.Christ is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word mashiach(messiah) which means anointing which is to rub or smear oil on.It is what the Hebrews did to Kings or prophets symbolizing the power of the creator God.

John was simply stating what is "called" the book of Revelation is the "unveiling of Yahoshua christ..the power of the creator God is saving ALL of mankind. That is what ALL the scriptures are about and ONLY about that. The creator God is delivering (saving) ALL of mankind from the realm of death and the realm of imperception (the definition of hades) .The creator God is NOT destroying ANY of mankind.

Yahoshua's purpose was to save EVERYONE from the realm of death and that exactly what is going to happen. The scriptures testify ONLY of this.THAT is what the Good news is.There is no Bad news in the Good news.Yahoshua is not saving "some" and destroying the others. That is the most heinous doctrine of men there is and is a lie of the highest degree.

Unfortunately there are "many" that don't believe the unveiling of Yahoshua. There is no amount of convincing them otherwise even though it is clearly in the scriptures and is the epitome of common reason. Many of mankind are drawn to death and destruction because it is their nature to "believe" what is not truth. Many believe there is a war going on between the Creator God and and being called Satan but the truth is the only war is between their ears in their religious carnal mind. That is what Yahoshua will be saving them from also and That.... is VERY Good news.
