It's struck me as odd, as it does a lot of Americans; that our government wants to protect us from terrorism inside the country (GO TSA! *f that*) Yet we have a southern border where people continuously slip past in numbers with unknown intent.

Why would we do this? Were we being humanitarians to escapists of Mexico? I'd say no. If we really cared about Mexicans we would have decriminalized marijuana and the CIA would have stopped shipping it and other drugs like coc aine across the border into the US. So for the past 30 years this drug war has fueled the cartels and in ways crippled Mexico's economy.

What I really think the border issues are about is socialism. We all see our country moving in that direction but what does an open border have anything to do with that? Well. Those Illegals who've come in and wreaked the benefits of our hard working citizens are going to have children of their own. Legal American Born voting citizens. What are they going to vote for, democracy or the same policies that helped their families live off American workers backs?

Socialism.

Your countries economy craves cheap illegal labor more than most, infact it wouldn't function without it!

Our Country does not crave cheap labor. Some business men may crave it and exploit it but who actually craves a low paying job? Sure, like any country/civilization, some people will earn more than others.

I've been asking the same question for the last decade or so. The two issues are obviously incompatible - open borders and security - but they sell it just the same. They think we're all "zombies".

The right and the left want open borders and cheap labor. The left just exploit it better by co-opting them as constituency.

Your nation is run by plutocratic elites who crave it.
You (The people as a whole) also give it your tacit approval by demanding ever cheaper goods, how do you expect cheap goods without cheap labor?

The american consumer is also to blame, if it was willing to pay higher prices maybe more Americans would be employed.

But no, people want to get all that processed food in Walmart for $0.99. This is a driver for cheap labor.

Name a place on Earth where the people are different. Europe is full of emigrants willing to work for less.

Iam a socialist.

I live in a country with socialised medicine and it saved me when born at 26 weeks and my 16 year old mum didn't pay a penny so all she had to worry about is me.
I wouldn't want to live in a place so anti socialist because it is the right thing to do for fellow man.
Seeing so many are Christian in the USA and seeing Jesus had so many socialistic tendencies I am puzzled why this is so?.
Why are you scared of socialism? I think some get socialism and communism mixed up.

Also I agree every western country has immigrants as a cheap labor force...you want cheap stuff? or do you want Americans picking carrots and you paying more for those carrots?.
Any nation that stops immigration completely will die off...more diverse cultures= a better country and a longer lasting one too.

There are babies born into those circumstances here every minute of every day and for as long as this has been a free nation. So what's different? You don't live in a true socialist society. So I wouldn't ascribe your experience to the virtues of socialism.

I didn't say I lived in a socialist country but one with socialised medicine.
Sorry dude but it costs me nothing out of my take home pay to have any treatment in the UK..everyone puts in for the good of all.
Do you have to pay to see a doctor or have insurance to see one?

Someone pays. That's for sure. Nothing is free in life. You're paying. You just don't want to admit it.

Funny I rang mine up and saw him the same day...
We do have a problem in that many people are becoming NHS tourists...some from the USA and they are taking much needed resources but we have made new rules of whom and who can not use the NHS, basically people have to have been here working for some time etc.
Sure it has problems but this is coming from our government running it badly to make sure they can sell parts of it and or make certain places private.

Check out the Cloward Piven Strategy!

I don't think socialism has anything to do with it!

NAFTA, the Amero, this is all nothing more than the globalists design to take away the sovereignty of the United States so that their twisted idea of their New World Order can be put in place.

Everyone pays for it you are right but for the good of all.
I don't mind paying a tiny bit of tax to know me,my pals and even old Mr Rodgers (old local nut) can get sick and be taken care of without worrying about a bill.

Cheap and free labor is what made america so rich, nothing to do with a socialist agenda, corporations run your country, but lets blame the commies.

I think the US simply needs to buy Mexico...surely it can't be that expensive. Would solve all the immigration issues, get some law and order going, some epic new spring break and retirement areas, etc...

Only problem is of course convincing the Mexicans to join the US

Yes! I have been saying this for a long time. I don't understand why Mexico wouldn't want to be a part of the U.S. - I would think it's a win-win for them. It would bring much needed money to them, more jobs, we could clean out the cartels and "banditos", making it an even better place for everyone to live. What's not to love?
