I for one hope this ends up on EVERY smartphone as standard soon then we wont have to suffer vertical videos from youtube on here, a large majority are from the youtube ufo brigade.

You don't go to the cinema to see the latest blockbuster and see it filmed in vertical (portrait) orientation so why film like that with your phone.

More here.

Could be, SO has been ironing out a few bugs today.

Couldn't find the exact same video, and now sure what happened with your video ID. Perhaps one of these two will help suffice?

No your video link is not correct. You have an extra "h" at the beginning that doesn't belong there. Ask a mod to delete that for you (since you're past allowed edit time), and it should be correct.

Back on topic, this wasn't such a bad problem with the old 3:4 ratio displays like 640.480, 800/600, 1024/768 etc, but with modern widescreen displays having such relatively short heights, yes vertical videos are more of a problem, so it's good to see someone taking a stand.

Reposted video link...but I'm a slow old man and was late on the draw... so removing my link to avoid additional 'video scourge' :-D

I know I'm a lone voice here, but I don't have a problem with vertical video. I watch most of my videos on my phone screen, so if it's a vertical video, I don't have to bother turning my phone around!

I cannot stand photos or videos done in portrait, really is a pet peeve of mine

Ok, that was pretty funny.

I still watched it with my phone in portrait, though.
