Why is there any tax at all when usage is going down? This is just another excuse for another profit taking scheme. The corporations have accounting tricks to cover their schemes. Americans have learned that from the 08 Crash.

Here's a table that shows the trends in energy consumption over the past decade:

Coal and Oil dependency are going down (Oil would seem to have nearly been eliminated). Coal is down by 25%, Gas has doubled, and solar has just increased by x10 over a decade (from 1.8 KiloWatts to 14 KiloWatts). Wind power has increased by x40. Renewables actually used the pumping of water to a high location in order to store energy.

Give it another decade, and everything could move to wind and solar.

Well, they were quick to kill solar energy in that state. It seems to be a clear case of political economy at play.
