The second executive order will instruct the Department of Labor to create new regulations requiring federal contractors to report wage-related data to the government, in the hope that it will hold them more accountable for salary differences based on sex or race. - See more at: www.abovetopsecret.com...

This is simply another way that the government will be able to get information from employers regarding wages. More control and intrusion. This will not change anything or increase wages.

They did it with box 12 dd and used it as a way to price Obamacare. They have access to W2 information from the IRS so why create EEO based salary reports? They don't. It is to create fear and price fix government contracts which will lead to less jobs.

This is pure Socialism. No matter how hard you work does not matter...only that you are all the same.

Who is Really Waging a War on Women ?

Here is a video based on actual Truth and Facts:

video.foxnews.com...=show-clips

Definition of a Hypocrite:
1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.

2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

Exactly! That same reasoning is why my mom, for example, made MORE money than her male colleagues. She was good at what she did, she knew it, and she was able to haggle her salary. Needless to say, her favorite colleague, John Dean, was angry at the employer when he found out my mom made more money. He'd been there longer.

Good lord Obama needs to be impeached charged and tried for violating the Constitution / Treason.

If congress does not pass something, it does not mean he can force it with issuing an executive order. There is a reason we have check and balances among the 3 equal branches of government.

I hope like hell the Republicans are successful during the midterms and a real effort is made to remove this runaway administration using illegal executive orders from office. I would call for his impeachment and removal now but Democrats apparently cant see passed their own efforts to stay in office.

The failure of congress to act, all parties, against Obamas illegal actions is treason in and of itself. Knowing his actions are illegal and failing to do anything to stop him makes them an accomplice.

Secondly equal pay is right up their with the equal rights amendment. Which is to say everyone is protected under the law. If a person feels they are not being paid equally would it not be better for them to actually file a lawsuit using existing state laws and go from there?
edit on 7-4-2014 by Xcathdra because: (no reason given)

Out of the last 20 presidents, only 2 have used the executive order less than Obama. Those two where Bush Sr and Grover Cleveland. Obama has used it 168 times, which pales in comparison to The top 5. FRD used it 3,522 times, Woodrow Wilson - 1,803, Coolage - 1,203, Teddy Roosevelt - 1081 and finally there is Herbert Hoover with 968.

I did not vote for Obama, but if we are honest about the historical context and look at it without political bias, It would be very unprecedented to impeach him and try him for treason over this issue.

I just seen your thread and then I read the link.
I can't understand why this is being made such a big deal over other than the fact as I believe you stated, elections are coming up.

I thought this was taking care of in 1963 with the Equal Pay Act.
The Equal Pay act
Am I wrong, do the people who are contracted to work for the Government out side of the G S or W S pay scales, paid differently?
Does a Senator pay a Female painter less than a contracted male painter?
Sorry, I don't get it.
There's already a law about equal pay for the sexes. Until I retired, Myself and my female counterparts all working for our Government made the same amount according to our pay scale. That was a G S.

Which is exactly why they don't want employees to discuss salaries and everywhere I've worked you could be terminated for said discussion.

I wish that people would just start standing up for themselves instead of always wanting something handed to them or be "protected".

This is such a bogus issue and is obvoiusly aimed at bailing out the mid term elections.
Expect this nonsense to increase and get deeper as election time nears. Expect the same litany of the "Usual Suspects" to be brought out in the news media to beat these tired olde drums for votes.

In this video posted by another on this thread Sean Hannity lists the standard tactics for which the Democrat party uses to divide and fractionate the country on one issue after another. Illegal Aliens, men verses women, race, Homosexuality and other issues all designed to get votes by divide and conquer and particularly in high electorial vote states in primary elections.

Video here...as posted further up on this page...

video.foxnews.com...=show-clips&v=3449902788001

This was the prime function of the Democrats "War on Women." Now that there is another election at stake...the old tired mantras and chants are being brought out again in order to secure the female vote.

But there is one big problem with Sean Hannity's point on this thread. It lacks certain common sense in order to score anti democrat points.

Because if you know this point I am going to make you will realize enough to ask why do not the Republicans educate the public to this fact..and it is simple logic and reason.

If women are making less monies for the same work as men...the men should be fired or laid off and replaced by women who will do the same work in the same conditions as men have traditionally done. Businesses are not that stupid that they do not know how to make monies on cheaper labor costs.

The question to ask is why are not the Republicans asking or telling of this line of thought. Why is not the Huffington Post, NYT, Los Angeles Times, CNN, CBS, NBC and also Fox News??? Why is not the famous Rush Limbaugh also teaching this simplicity??

The historical facts are that women as a whole do not want the same conditions as men have traditionally worked under. They do not as a whole want the long hours or long hours of overtime, do not want to travel far from home and family/friends, do not want the harsh conditions, Do want better facilities and someone to build these facilities for them ..not at their costs. They want something already set up for them. They do not want to have to set them up theirselves or at their costs.
They also tend to take off work for longer periods of time than men and often miss more time than men.

To my knowledge none of this is explained or factored in by most all of the news media nor public education ...nor by the women's movements while preying on the gullibility and just plain olde ignorance of most of the American Public.

It is very easy to fool an emotionally gullible public by portraying someone as a "Victim" when it is so obviously not true. By this I mean either in the "War on
Women" or in this pay scale business.

This is nothing more than the democrats stumping for votes and the phony Republicans helping them by keeping the public ignorant of the obvious in this case.

If the women of this nation are doing the same work the men are doing and for less pay ...business would be firing or laying off most of the men and replacing them with women!!!! Think it through..it fits!!!

Think people ...don't emote..but think for yourselves!! And learn to spot the gaps in the emotional drama techniques of the body politic and the news media shilling for them...including the fabled Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.

Here by DR Warren Farrell. This video and informations on the wage gap between men and women was done so many years ago..and has been available on U Tube for years..but most have never thought about it until a political hack like this administration and its political party recently tried to make political fodder out of it.

www.youtube.com...

Much of the truth about this issue is explained by Dr Warren Farrell. Dr Farrell was at one time a member of the National Organization of Women until he began thinking for himself.

Think for yourselves people..think dont emote and dont let hack politicians and false leaders/predators put you on the emotional puppet string where they can control you for your vote.

Orangetom

It's really a way to worm federal regulations into what's left of the what used to be free enterprise. Just more socialism. And more legislating from the Executive Branch because CIC cannot make Congress do what he wants.

Yes just like every president has done from the beginning with exception of William Henry Harrison who was only in office for about a month.

This is for federal contractors. If you don't want the feds telling you what to pay your people then don't take federal contracts.

I wonder if it will apply to Obama's White House, where the women make 77% of what the men do. Probably not. It will only apply to Conservative small business owners. The same ones the IRS has been targeting and harassing for years.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that some union contracts are tied to this wage. This means that those people will get an automatic raise if this takes effect.

As far as women getting equal pay is concerned, I don't have a problem with that, if it is for equal work. In my field, mechanical engineering, there is no reason that a woman, with an equal education and experience level shouldn't be paid the same as a man. However, a few things need to be taken into consideration. I work with a female engineer, who has just gone on maternity leave. I'm now working about 20-30 hours a week overtime and we have brought a temp in to cover the rest. I would say that this extra expense is why she is making less than I am.

JimC,

Those kinds of thing are never spoken about when making or posturing on this kind of issue in politics. It is politically all guilt maneuvering or guilt politics in order to default through unquestioned or unchallanged....ie...censorship. This is nothing more than inequality trying to pass for equality ...on the public purse...for votes and influence by the body politic.

It is nothing more than the "Usual Suspects" going at it again with the same olde guilt templates or guilt politics without releasing all the details...but only a slanted political view. They are using and misusing guilt techniques to censor or silence opposition or any dissent. Particularly in colleges today where the students are not emotionally savvy sufficient to handle it or catch on.

As I have asked several times...if women are making so much less than a man for the same work...why would any business ever want to hire a man???

To my surprise ..many males have not ever thought this question through. So complete and thorough has been the propaganda that people have ingested instead of real thinking...very very few have caught it.

This is the question neither phony political party want asked or answered.

The Racism culture or cottage industry...the womens groups or cottage industry and the Homosexual groups or cottate industry all uses this template of leaving out certain informations and lines of thought in order to default through as if certain thing are or ought to be happening by default...while omitting certain other lines of thought. This is the censorship taking place. Da...Tovarich???

Over time I began to realize that all these groups are using or misusing the same guilt maneuvering or guilt politics and that they seem to be handled at the top by the same controllers working to a same direction or goal..by their very techinque. Guilt maneuvering or guilt politics.

I Note this technique very quickly today...now that I know for what to see.

Its been a long time since I've seen your post. Good to know you are still around.

Thanks,
Orangetom

the first provision I support. We don't care if employees share their pay information with each other in my place. We just don't disclose it for them....they have to disclose their own.

The second part....nope. The government has no idea what fair is and is not. They act on lobby interests and pressure alone, and have no reason to gather that information.

Yep. Still lurking about. I have to watch what I post, because the company I work for has a person who does nothing but monitor our social media accounts. I knew that when I took the job and really don't mind because the money is REAL good.

Good Grief...Jim,

I hate such censorship. And it is getting much worse. I figured this out many years ago which is why I never got a Face Book account or Twitter or was it MySpace..years ago? No interest in such stuff.

More and more of thinking today is beging defaulted over to censorship programs which is why I used the expression Da Tovarich in my last post.

Once again..good to see you are still around. Doing alot of 12 hour shifts here so board time is at a premium and at times sporadic.

Thanks,
