Yeah...I just don't get it. Seems totally overboard and a little whack to me, but any excuse, I guess....

For Russia, With Love

Putin on the Style
You have to hand it to Russian President Vladimir Putin; He tames wild animals shirtless, flies fighter jets (with a shirt on) and loves to roundhouse an audience with his mad Judo skills. If all this wasn’t enough, in December 2010 he played piano to raise money for a charity that supports children suffering from eye diseases and cancer.

Mr. Putin is action man, nature lover and humanitarian all rolled into one. He’s also pretty good at getting his own way.

This ex-secret agent of the Soviet Union is now in charge of the entire Eastern Bloc and he rules with a well practiced iron fist. He is also formidable when it comes to foreign diplomacy, because he doesn’t have any.

Russia’s incursion into Crimea is a classic example of Putin’s single-minded persona. He makes no apologies for his actions, which leaves Western governments scrambling with outrage, but only able to issue sharply worded statements. Big deal.

But not to worry...Putin probably isn't falling for it...

Ex-Georgia President: Ferocious Putin Fears Western 'Love Trap'

www.newsmax.com...

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has tried the "love" route in recent days, trying to shame Putin by saying he is using 19th-century actions in a 21st-century world.

Saakashvili said such words don't concern Putin.

"He doesn't want to be liked by his neighbors. He wants to be feared by his neighbors," Saakashvili said.

Putin's only fear is that the West is trying to lure him into a "love trap" so it can defeat him, Saakashvili said. Putin wants his neighbors to fear him so they respect him. That applies to the United States as well.

Well seeing as it's MediaMatters where media doesn't matter, I wouldn't give it too much thought.

It's really more Fox and MSNBC and the LA Times. No real comment, eh? Out of context? Not true?

Yes out of context. Most of the political figures your extremely left leaning biased sources noted all compared how he was a stronger player than Obama. Not that they love him. Nice try tho! I mean, I feel the same way, but I don't love him nor want him for president.

Most of the sources are Fox.

So, basically noting that Putin has a similar cult of personality to Obama only he can back it up by being a strong leader, even if it's a leadership of a sort that you don't like, is now equated to "loving" Putin if you are the kind of person who doesn't like Obama?

This is along the same lines as thinking that disagreeing with Obama's policies makes one racist, isn't it?

Oh. So they're simply noting that Putin has a cult personality but with real balls and their only way to do this appears to be to compare him to their elected leader, whom they find sorely lacking?

Putin is the GOP's Fabio. The sexy man model on the cover of their favorite romance novel, "Dictator of Love: He Sees What He Wants and Takes It."

They use Putin as what they think a strong leader should be making Obama weak by comparison, except when he is being the tyrannical dictator king in chief. The GOP schizophrenia should at this point make anyone with a rational thought think twice about electing any of them. It is quite telling that they expect their next Presidential candidate to act like Putin.

Don't be ridiculous. You are mixing up Murdoch controlled media personalities with the GOP. No one in their right mind would trust an ex KGB who hasn't defected to the West.
But yah Putin is more Alpha male than Bobo.

I actually like Putin, I think he's a hell of a leader. It's a shame we don't have a real leader in the US.

You hit the nail on the head there! Excellent comparison.

What I like about Putin is his balls, something lacking in the current WH.

Usually ATS posters lambast the tyranny and dictatorship of Obama....despite that he won't be tyhere in 2 more years.

but you'd rather he sticks around for 3 or more terms like Putin, jail opposition candidates, and annex Canada (because that's what Putin's "strength" amounts to)

That's a bit of a turn up - how come??

Doesn't makes sense, does it? Like I said in the opening...any excuse. Guess a lot of people are guilty of that to one degree or another, but this collection shows they may be going a little overboard. Then again many mass murderers throughout history had their loyal followers and admirers too. Otherwise how could they have gotten away with what they got away with?
