Cubans Shocked At Prices As Foreign Cars Go On Sale

It looks like Cubans can now buy a new car without a permit.

But naturally, they will need money just the same.

Apparently some brand new cars from foreign countries are way too expensive.

Extra money tacked onto the prices (by the government) is supposed to go towards some kind of transportation project.

Cubans have reacted with shock after foreign-made cars went on sale for the first time since the 1959 revolution at what some termed “crazy” prices.

The state has a monopoly on new car sales and has set massive mark-ups.

A Peugeot 508 is listed at $262,000. Peugeot’s UK website puts prices from $29,000. State salaries in Cuba average about $20 a month.

Freeing up car sales is the latest in a series of reforms. A permit to buy new vehicles is now no longer required.

Hell, I would love to be able and go to Cuba and buy up every old car I could find. Just parting them out would land a tidy profit.

This is how a Cuban newspaper might read like...

Americans have reacted with shock after mandatory health insurance went on sale for the first time since the Obamacare revolution at what some termed “crazy” prices.

The state has fueled a monopoly on new health insurance sales and has set massive mark-ups.

An average insurance deductible is listed at $10,000. NHS UK website puts prices below $100. Salaries in the US average about $1,500 a month.

Jacking up insurance prices is the latest in a series of reforms. A mandate to buy health coverage is now required.

Evening,

You think their shocked now?
Just wait till they get a gander at their insurance rates after buying one of those $260K cars...

They'll buy one but never drive it. Just put it in a glass cage like at a zoo and have their friends look at it during parties.

-Peace-
