the gem of which was the Erlang C calculation

I haven't heard that term in years. I spent quite some time waaay back when trying to calculate basically the same thing for telecom channel bank capacity and queuing. I don't miss those days.

Me neither.

I have learned that every problem in statistics can be solved with basic accounting principles. I don't need to be any more advanced than that.

Thanks dollukka. I already have it written on a Post-it note in tiny print, backwards so I can stick it to my forehead and read it in the mirror while I'm driving.

Hi BFFT I would love to see your process. I watched more
tutorials last night & getting ready to watch more tonight.
I'm getting more excited now since I'm having a better understanding
of how things work. It will take me a while but at least I'm still
enjoying learning.

Cheers

You guys crack me up so bad! While showering all I
could think of was the bloody "Twerking Gorilla" &
dancing to Devo's Whip It but instead it was twerk it,
twerk it good. Must of had too much tea or all the snow.

It makes me sad that you thought you had to do so. Depiction of breast feeding, depiction of ancient cultures all falling down in front of the PC Machine. Sad really.

well, the most important part to what i do is try to find images without a lot of shading. That way, the next part works better:

- click on "Select" then "Color Range"
- Use your little dropper to click on the color you want to select. There is a slide bar that is in the pop up window that will allow you to fine tune it a little bit.
- click "select" then "refine edge". You can use these tools to refine the edge (smooth, feather, grow/shrink, etc). There are little instructions in that pop up window to kind of lead you in the right direction on adjusting it. But toying with it will give you an understanding of what each setting does
- on your keyboard, once you have the edges refined and selected, hit "CTRL-C" to copy what you have selected, then "CTRL-V" to paste it. It will paste it into a new layer.
- on your new layer, double click it to open up the "blending options" (on the layer pane to the right of the workspace).
- in blending you can do all sorts of stuff. Add color, add a gradient, inner/outer glow, bevelling, shadows, etc. Each setting has its own blending option (hint: use "color" and find the color you want to overlay. Then use the drop down menu in the Color tab to select either overlay, hue, or color. You will see that the selection has a blended color like what you selected, but the underlying shading is still there).

I will select multiple things and make a new layer to create a new color shading. Sometimes I may bevel it to give it a bumpy appearance. It is all about playing around and figuring out what you like and what fits your style. I would bet that someone who is trained in this tool would be horrified looking at how haphazard my process is.

I like neo's avatar. that reflective look is awesome. Im a fan of full page avatars though.

Something that reflects me as a person.

Space, mars, nova, science, tech, computers, guns....swords, mid evil, dragon,Emilia Clarke, Game Of Thrones, radio waves, data.

I dont have an artistic side, so ill leave it up to you to compile.

Excited

It's a tad early here for creativeness

Still on my first coffee of the day, but after work I'll have a play, need my brain to kick in first.

I dare say there will be a few to choose from within 24-48 hours.

You make it sound so easy!

I'm really afraid of messing everything up, and not being able to figure out ow to correct it.

It takes me about three thousand times as long to figure out this new-fangled technology as it does a kid.
