Biblical snowstorm: Rare flakes in Cairo, Jerusalem paralyzed by over a foot

By Jason Samenow
December 13 at 12:06 pm

A powerful, slow-moving storm is producing historic snows in the Middle East – from Jerusalem to parts of Cairo.

From all accounts, snow in Cairo is exceptionally rare – although historical records are difficult to attain

Some reports suggest it’s the first snow in Cairo in over 100 years – although they are not substantiated.

New York Magazine offers this intelligence:

Claims that this is Cairo’s first snowfall in exactly 112 years seem to be sourced from a tweet by one local man who later admitted he was just guesstimating. Whatever the exact number is, though, the point is that it basically never snows in Cairo.

Is it global warming causing more melting icecaps
and as a result, more moisture in the air, more precipitation from clouds way up where its cold everywhere at high alt?

It might have something to do with this: The sun's lazy!

Either that or it took Obama seriously when he said we couldn't just run our planet at 70 degrees all the time and have everyone be OK with it.

The Dr. Svaalgard quoted? I've interacted with him on another forum for longer than I've been here. He knows his stuff. If you want to know how the sun operates. You listen to him.

Maybe the Sun is lazy but: 2010 there were 82 landmass volcanic eruptions which was a record until 2013 which set a new record of 83..

No one disputes the effect of global cooling if enough particulate matter is thrown into the atmosphere by volcanos. So for my two cents it is not one thing (even though most like to find one thing and run with it) but many things taken into conjunction for the end result. Jet stream has been lower and crazy these last few years also.

There are now scientist saying all kinds of stuff from a 30 year global cooling to a 30 year get your suntan lotion and water wings.

Regardless the climate and earth are gonna do what they are gonna do irrespectively of our civilizations desires and the propensity to throw tax money at a problem thinking that will fix it .
