Obama is closing down most of the coal fired electric plants, so that leaves us with what? Nuclear power plants.
Nuclear waste can be contained within concrete that will keep any radiation leaks from reaching the groundwater.

I agree with most of what you said!
What CAN we do about it?
The EPA raised the safety level of radiation in the aftermath of this disaster. Obama is closing down most of the coal fired electric plants, so that leaves us with what? Nuclear power plants.
The greed for money will destroy us all!

Excuse my ignorance but doesn't nuclear radiation cause cancer? Is it not accurate to call it a disease if in fact it's cancer? Not sure why you would have gripe there. Shouldn't you instead be thinking 'Why are they downplaying the connection between the cancer and the nuclear radiation of Japan?".edit on 30-11-2013 by Lucid Lunacy because: (no reason given)

Yes, because you know, they just bury it wherever they feel like, and not in places with good solid bedrock.
So you'd rather go back to candles, and get rid of technology? Just let people that would live die off, screw being able to make a decent living, and living past about 30 years old, because we've had to go back to doing everything by hand, and our bodies wear out right?
As for the starfish, you have the report that proves it's radiation, and not say, a virus, or caused by something else right? You can prove beyond any kind of doubt that it has to be from Fukushima right?

You are surrounded by radiation on a daily basis. In fact you need it to survive. There are several different types (although nuclear radiation isn't exactly correct). There's ionising radiation, and non-ionising radiation. Ionising radiation is what causes cancers.
