The other day I read an article about this new privacy add-on from Firefox. And today is the first day this became available. I really love this add-on and have been toying with it nonstop. Right now mine is reporting that I visited 15 sites and have connected with 66 third party sites. So I have been going through the list and blocking the undesirables. I give this add-on 2 thumbs up and highly endorse this add-on. Just be careful that you don't disable site functions.

This new add-on is going to spoil things for quite a few unethical websites.

Lightbeam is a Firefox add-on that uses interactive visualizations to show you the first and third party sites you interact with on the Web. As you browse, Lightbeam reveals the full depth of the Web today, including parts that are not transparent to the average user.

Here is a picture of the interface. Myself I prefer the details listing.

This seems like a bland ripp off from Collusion (add-on on chrome ) Which does the exact same thing, it provides a web to show you which are tracking you... you would be surprised whats tracking you on what site

Everyone should use Collusion and Ghostery.

I've just kept an updated HOSTS file.
It's kept browsing fairly clean for years.
I may, however, try this on top.

There are, of course, other methods like TOR and proxies, even VPNs, but, the more paranoid one is about their internet browsing, the more arduous getting online and doing anything is.
