I was at the book store the other day and I was thinking about a lot that's happened over the last 3 years. (I've been unemployed and out of business). Prior to that I had a business that was running for 11 years that did really well. Eventually it fell apart.

But I was thinking if I could come up with a good idea again I could build something again. I have one idea that's okay. It's not great though so I'm just seeing what else is out there. Like i figure that with that last run I had which lasted so long, if I did it once I should be able to do it again. It's just finding the right niche market or need. I just wonder what I could get into next???

you could start an agency for the undocumented day laborers that can be found everywhere.
you could out-compete all other subcontractors based on the low price alone XD

but then i guess you would be unamerican, hiring illegals for cash and exploiting cheap labor.

seems contrary to people being unemployed anyways. hard to tell anymore.

There are the markets for caring elderly, specially delivering warm meals. In my country every county delivers warm meals to our senior citizens and handicapped too once a day, so they can enjoy their golden age as long as they can in their OWN home. Im not sure how this is done in US but according to article i found they could do it better.

When older adults are moved into nursing homes too soon, it doesn't just mean excess health care spending -- it means that communities are in many ways losing touch with important members who, with only a little bit of help, could still be living independently. A new study out of Brown University quantified how simple it can be to keep this from happening. For every $25 more per person annually that states contribute to delivering meals to seniors, it found, they can reduce the number of people in nursing homes who don't require most of the homes' services by one percent. So not only is it better for the community, it can be financially advantageous

Healthy food !

I've always thought, you know those shoes for little kids that light up on every step?........well, what if someone could take that idea, and instead of lights, install a tiny little shop vac!......Then when the kids run around the house or the restaurant that they've just strewn cookie crumbs all over, they'd actually be cleaning up!

There ya go! Million dollar idea for free! Just do it!

I'm thinking more like info products that I can sell using ad copy. My background is in copywriting. But anyway, I'm looking for an info product or service that I can market using a sales letter.

Spartacus, your business should be treasure hunting. You can get other people to pay you to spend their money looking for buried treasure...Ironically...Spartacus' Buried Treasure!

What about a cheap wristwatch communicator that the kid can use like in his favorite TV show when he needs to find his mommy?

1. Build time machine

2. Go back in time to 1997

3. "Invent" Google.

4. Spend a few years banking money away in investments

5. Come back to present day

6. Live like a freaking Saudi prince in Dubai

Questions?

I have a time machine in my head. It's my memory. When I think back to 1997 I'm going back in time for a breif moment. Oh ya I was working in a factory back then.

Most business ideas require capital to start.

One thing you could do if you have a little capital is start a healthcare tourism business that basically scouts out potential doctors for people trying to get surgeries overseas. Then as part of the cost you arrange for a translator/negotiator in that country to go along with the customer so they don't get screwed over. Also choosing a local doctor that has a good reputation etc.

If you're male, become a gigilo...

Alternatively, gather a group of consensual employees and start an escort agency and become a proxy pimp...imagine all that struttin'...

It's a good idea but in Canada we have to be careful. You start a fringe business here and you go to jail. Like I said Nazi germany has nothing on how Canada is today. but ya it has some potential. Maybe just a book about how to do that?

I was thinking of maybe a carpet cleaning business if it wasn't an online business, but that mean a lot of hard work. It's not impossible but still I just hate hard work.

Create a website where doctors and prospective patients could find each other. Also have links to travel and lodging available/integrated as well. Basically, create a one stop shop for getting medical stuff done overseas -- even have a service that'll handle getting travel visas (if needed) and doing all your paperwork for you.

I hear that...carpet cleaning isn't fun.

I just wish everyone loved me so much that they paid tribute for me being alive.

Ya it's not exactly fun. I use to do it for a while. It's not great. But it's something that every home owner eventually uses. That's why I don't like brick and mortar businesses, they're a lot of work for not much reward.

The other real world idea I was thinking of was to just buy a cargo van. And just use that for all kinds of services, like deliveries, junk removal and other stuff.
