Seriously! I was having a discussion with my girlfriend about current politics and laws being forced upon us all. The discussion went further into details about my opinion, yes opinion about my country(USA) being hi-jacked by persons that I feel really want to tear this great nation apart and rebuild with re-writing of the constitution, changing local and federal laws that further strip us of certain rights and place radicals in key positions to accomplish just that.

So she said to me " You're great at speaking in public and people like you. Why don't you organize and speak up?"

Then it occured to me. I would be labeled anti-goverment, a terrorist, a racist I suppose ( I'm a white male from SE Ohio so I must be one, right?). I may be placed on a government watchlist and may be stripped of my right to fly. I could lose my rights as granted under the constitution and bill of rights.

Think about it for a moment. You see on the news, hear on the radio and read in forums just like this about people being charged with crimes such as drug trafficing, child porn, gun violations and even shootings. Later you then hear stories about these individuals being anti-government or a "gun nut". Or any number of labels deamed threatening by the feds. Makes me wonder how many innocent men and women are sitting in prison telling their story about how they were set up because they didn't agree with the status quo and spoke up!

Thoughts anyone? Be kind. I don't post often, but this really had my gears turning.

Thanks

In response to the title, yes, it is very possible, if not likely.

It is something I give a lot of thought to, but being a single parent and having a career, I'm just not sure I could risk it. Thanks for your reply.

How right you are! I realize it's not a crime to speak out. That is why I worry about the possibility of false charges to stut one down.

Obviously if you want to protest in a PEACEFUL manner it is your right and encouraged.

If you want to promote violence or vandalisim you'll be arrested.

It's simple.

Honestly for you to ask on a conspiracy website makes me think you're up to no good.

just my opinion.

Follow your gut and your heart and pray for strength and guidance. We need more people like you to get the word out. To me, it seems so obvious how fast our country is going down. So sad. I have two young ones that I dearly want to enjoy a good healthy life, with a few freedoms still left. Society is so weak these days it only gets worse. Diseased. We need strength. Be strong.

Peace.

Which is the greater crime and which the greater punishment?

Speaking out and perhaps, some time in jail for some B.S. charge along the way? Perhaps a few of them....who knows?

Or

Remaining silent and never being able to say, even to yourself, you did what you could to prevent what may well be coming. Whatever small things we each may be able to do? It all adds up. The lack of them sure will for going the other way, I'm sure of it.

I think speaking up however you find the opportunity to inspire others, to at least ask about things they see around them, (hopefully then helping more to wake up), is about the best reason to risk a petty nonsense arrest I can imagine. If that's really how low it's gone now.

This is NOT just a conspiracy website. I found it to be one of the best sites for political discussion due to the fact that there are more informed people on this site than you will find anywhere else on the web.

To the OP- Dont worry- if they jail you for speaking out- you will be sitting in jail with millions of others- They are already accusing their political opposites of being terrorists. Thats a lot of terrorists.

We are all entitled to our rights as granted to us by the United States Constitution.....don't let anyone make you believe otherwise.

As to your question, yes you most likely would be put on a watchlist. Talk too much and they'll pay you a visit.

They would prefer that you speak of violence and havoc that you create the drama they were hoping for after Zimmerman. Quick easy arrest, and some time away in a nice cell.

The thing is tptb don't want smart people, people who can gather a crowd in for the greater good, people who can make others listen. The one who puts ideas of freedom into peoples heads and clues them in to the atrocities that are being commited against them. That is the man that ends up like JFK, Martin Luther King etc...

Be wise in picking your battles.

Up to no good. Seriously? My thread was clearly stating the fact of speaking one's opinion contrary to that of the current government. I guess Washington, Franklin, Hancock, Jefferson and many others were up to no good. My opinion once again.

just my opinion.

You hit the nail on the head.

You rock the boat in a big enough manner, you disrupt the status quo too much, you're going down.

Whether the likes on JFK, MLK, or simply through blackmail, coercion, lost elections (and those with money funding your destruction), and if none of those, being labelled simply as a kook.

Simple as that, sadly.

Why are you so angry?

You say people listen to what you say when you speak? What kind of people?

Do what you want I couldn't care less I'm just saying if you start a fire don't be surprised when you get burned.

Good luck bro. lol

Just always say "in my opinion" or "I feel", etc. Don't threaten and you should be fine. You wouldn't be targeted unless you became a threat anyway - really started to rile people up or drew attention to something someone is power is doing that they didn't want to get caught at. At that point cover your basis. Have a tape recorder, have witnesses for as much as possible, have a go to media source, etc. if your going to be heard in a big way or if you begin to get that big make sure you have something backing you up. Otherwise, they don't mess with people just sharing their opinions - right, left, or all over the place.

I write short bursts (rants) about the government all the time, am I on a watch list? who knows, my point is I don't care. I will say what I feel I need to say; so long as I'm not threating life, limb, or property.

Thanks for your opinion

Thank you for your kind words. Some folks on here feel that I am expressing anger. Anger is what drives people to do things like Lybia, Egypt, Syria. Concern accomplishes far more, say, like the founding of a great nation? Hmmmm. It's sad when anger is misconstrued for concern. Too bad more people aren't openly concerned. It may be a much better country if so...
