The op has asked and pointed out that the problem is guns however failed to take into account several things in his analysis of what happened.
The first point is that we do not know why, nor how many or what all is going on. All anyone can say is that some person, on a military base, in
Washington DC opened fired and people are dead. Including the shooter, with some suspects that are at large. That is all that anyone knows.
But before you go and condemn or state that we should get rid of firearms there are a few things that can be stated: Washington DC has tough gun
control laws, including restrictions on who can and the types of firearms that a person can own and possess. This did happen on a military base,
where the guns and firearms controls are even more controlled and strict. So what has happened that we can state is that a person, who is choosing to
break the law, brought several firearms into a city that already has tough gun control laws on the book, onto a military instillation that has even
tougher gun control regulations in place and killed people. And yet people still don’t see the irony of this all, and that is that a person who is
intent on breaking the law, is not going to follow the law, so why do those people who call for tougher gun control legislation intend on punishing
all of the country for the actions of the few?
