If you hover over the icons, they tell you after a moment what they are for.

I tried that, didn't get anything.

I'm on IE10.

Using a 2011 Macbook Pro:

OS: Lion
Browser: Safari 6.0.4
Problem: Site Width is out of control. Even expanding Safari window to full screen doesn't allow me to see the whole site. It is too wide by approx. 200-400 pixels. The normal ATS site doesn't quite fit either, but the beta is so much worse, makes it difficult to use.

It's a well known fact that bright white screens make it easier to broadcast subliminal messages into your brain

But what is the a reason you want us to go light OP. ?

Light/white backgrounds have evolved into the contemporary design sensibility across the Internet. Since the vast majority of our traffic are non-members, we wanted to make sure our design was compatible with what people have become used to seeing nearly everywhere else.

Vertical banner = a thread that you've subscribed to

Flag = a thread with lots of flags

Speech bubbles = a thread with lots of replies

Thanks.

I guess I'm subscribed to some threads that I wasn't aware of, lol

Site Width is out of control.

What viewport information do you see below the footer?

The non-mobile/desktop version of ATS is optimized for 1280 wide.

Nice SO.

The only thing I've noticed so far is, in my profile, when I list my posts, and click on one of the links, it takes me to the beginning of the thread, instead of my post. The present format takes you directly to your post in the thread.

Ok, actually I was expecting my preview to change in the account settings, but it does not. It does seem to work in the threads.

BLERG!

Nevermind it is working for the preview now too...lol

So far this is pretty sweet.

No complaints using Windows Vista with Firefox 23.0.1 with HTML5 mods. Or on Windows 7 with Chrome, Firefox or the TPB's new browser bundle. Or through Soft Ether VPN. or TOR, with or without an underlying proxy or VPN. I'm happy.

I must say though, I HATED the color scheme. Until I found the "make it the colors I'm used to" button.

I think it's a nice option, particularly for those of us who use large TV as a monitor.

Users on iPhones and iPads can turn the new version of the site into a WebApp, saved to your devices Home Screen as an icon.

Just go to the home page, click the share button at the bottom menu, and select "Add to Home Screen." A custom icon will appear on your screen... click that, and the site behaves much like a native app.

Also, the image upload has been tested to work for both Android and iOS... so we now also have mobile image uploads.

Wanted to add one more thing.

I really wish the stars were more visible. Right now they really blend into the background. (I set my theme to dark)
