I asked a good friend of mine who lives right off of Denver and he said he didn't see anything that night while he was mingling with a friend of his around midnight for a good hour. This isn't proof that there wasn't any UFO because it's quite hard to spot them when you're not necessarily always looking up.

Cameras don't really work well in the sky, even an S3 and iPhone4 would have trouble picking up stars. I don't own a legitimate camera and I'm not low-income. I think it's judgmental to say that someone and their neighbor did not own a camera and It's entirely possible that the neighbor may have thought that the camera on their phone wouldn't be sufficient and may have said they didn't have one. However, OP may have just said this for kicks as that is my gut instinct, but the only way to know for sure is if the UFO Observation Tower in Denver (www.slvufo.com...) could verify this or someone came around and provided evidence on their end. Denver has a lot of people therefore a you-tube video is bound to be uploaded.

Sometimes there are atmospheric disturbances that make stars appear to float around. It happens during the northern lights once in a while. It makes them look like they move around, something like what occasionally happens when looking through water vapor. I am used to seeing that, it occasionally happens and I do not know if it has anything to do with this event. Just had to mention it as a possible reason for what you are seeing.

I think that Rickymouse has about the best explanation here. I highly doubt the OP is making this up. For what reason? He's been a member since 2003 and he knows what kind of attacks he'll take here on ATS if he can't back up his claims. He obviously saw something and was hoping someone would back up what he saw. Other posters in the Denver area said it was cloudy out, so this backs up that there was moisture. This may be why the OP was the only one who saw it because of the right conditions of water vapor in the atmosphere from his angle. I, myself, haven't experienced this, but it makes sense in this situation being that no one else in the Denver area witnessed this and since the OP has been a member since 2003, it's highly unlikely he just made this up. Just my two cents anyways!

Seriously, I'm not making this up, for certain we see two UFOs circling each other blinking RED now over the mountains, and another one straight up over our head that is dancing around too now. Too much light pollution for us to see much more right now, and I'm not going to bed anytime soon! Xenongod

This proves that contrary to the expectations of most people, just because a UFO is out there and visible it does not mean that it will be photographed, or photographed well. Cameras don't come anywhere near close to the human eye in low light, even professional level cameras.

Also, people don't usually notice. Their field of view is a narrow cone sticking out of their car's windshield or the cone of view towards their TV or computer.

You stopped reading because you made a misguided assumption about that medication. Goes to show that you think you know a lot more than you actually do. That makes ME stop reading your posts.

My hunch is that you did in fact see something and IF it was low to the horizon (sorry if you discussed and I missed it...) it was likely RC quadrotors with LED's which have been gaining popularity.

This is my judgement based on the pattern of flight you describe: Playful, not really going or coming from somewhere specific, no mission.

But I could be wrong.

Try taking a picture of the brightest star in the sky with your phone as an experiment next time you have a chance just to get an idea of the quality of picture you are likely to get in low light conditions like that.

ONCE you have done that, you might be compelled to re-think the chances that phone cameras are the answers to nigh-time sightings.

You're right that a camera may not capture images of all UFOs that are visible to the naked eye, the facts regarding the OP's sighting still begs this question:

If the sky over Denver was full of multiple UFOs continuously for over five hours (at least), why wasn't there more reports of these UFOs?

Good morning, it was cloudy and raining all night so no luck at seeing anything, and the forecast is for more rain tonight. Thank you for all the support and possible explanations. I really want to see them for one more time to have something to compare to what I saw the other night, so I can cancel or confirm some ideas about this discovery. Involuntary commitment to the local asylum might be an option too my wife said, uh oh! Peace and Godspeed, Xenongod

so i watched this news story and i have to say i was intrigued, so i had to do a little digging, the anonymous person that caught the video said he thought the ufos where landing and taking off somewhere around 56th and clay so i did a little Google maps detective work and heres what i came up with at 2885 W 56th Ave
Denver, CO 80221 this is the structure there

as you can see in the picture it looks like landing signals cut into grass or at the least a very strange way to cut the grass.. further investigation when zooming into street view , this property is under HEAVY surveillance.... as you can see in the pictures below..

we counted at least 15 camera monitoring this area not to mention the ones on the secondary entrance..
this property is listed as a residential property but i haven't been able to find registered owner yet.

if anyone else find more information please reply

To whoever it was that posted the "Denver UFO" thing from last year, wasn't that proven to be insects in front of the lens?

Yep, that's the one. They determined it was insects according to the link I posted above you.

Edit:
Yes, I was right:

www.slate.com...

Also, the guy refuses to give his name, when this would be a chance to get famous off finding real UFO's.

Basically some skeptics went out and filmed the area with a white board behind the camera, and found that everything that had been reported as an "UFO" was in between the camera and the white board, a space of about 20 feet. They also filmed from multiple angles, and on one angle would have the UFO, and on another nothing.

So that was one big hoax started by a man who refused to identify himself.

If you go to street view on the back side you can clearly see your landing signals are just freshly cut grass. In street view the rows of mulch have already been cleaned up. They just happened to have a fresh mow when Google snapped a sat pic. Just because Google catches someone sun bathing in a sat view, doesn't mean that person is permanently sun bathing.

More than likely the trees and grass in that area, which appear to be the most for a several block radius, are a feeding/breeding ground for insect.

Edit: I just realized my phone is rooted and I use an app that allows for long exposure for sky shots at night....the app may not require root, but who knows. I was also in the mountains with no light pollution.
