Heff, as soon as I read the Prez' statement about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, I knew that he was not talking about American citizens but his favorite subject, the UN and Citizens of the World. This is what it all comes down to, the Prez is not interested in serving America, he is interested in pushing the New World Order/One World Government, which is embodied in what we call the United Nations.
I stopped reading his proclamation at that precise point.
I can see why this statement would be an upset to you and many of us here. To be sure, since Carter, all the American Presidents have been surrounded by and ruled by members of the CFR and various elites, so it's not just the current one. But we have to see it for what it is, no matter who is the Commander in Chief at any given time.

I was with you up to this point:

visible part of an ugly, ugly system called (fascistic) capitalism

Blaming this on Capitalism was a very telling thing about your post. Yes, there are some fascistic things going on, but fascism is leftism, and the problems stem from much more than issues with crony Capitalism. You failed to mention the socialist nationalizing of our health system, that is government takeover of the health sector. You failed to mention that government bailout of the automotive sector. You failed to mention the ruination of Detroit by excessive and bad government planning and the debt from unfunded pensions and liabilities of the public unions. You failed to mention Nancy Pelosi telling Congress they have to pass bills before we get to know what's in them. This is an abuse of the public sector we call government, which is supposed to serve the people, not control them for the greed of people who have long time career positions in Congress. You failed to mention the President's overstepping of his bounds in Executive Orders and generally thinking he can do whatever he wants and override Congress any old way that gets what he wants. He is a tyrant who used political office for personal gain and to push a Marxist agenda of redistribution of the wealth. I could go on, We could talk about how he uses his position to divide the country politically and racially. It is so sickening. I can't wait for the next three years to be over, if we can survive it.

Well, you see the Progressives in the Democrat Party have been throwing that word around a lot since BO got elected. They know that people have had lousy education because they controlled it through the NEA and Dept of Education. They know that many people do not understand the difference between a Democracy and a Republic and that is the reason why he gets away with making statements like this. The Socialists within the Democrat Party want to confuse people on what our type of government is, because to a Socialist, a Democracy can still be fascist, socialist, whatever mob rule, direct democracy, majority rule. They know that the members of the Occupy movement will back up their ideas when they pound the sand with this statement, "This is what Democracy looks like", and demands to change our government to something like "participatory democracy".
en.wikipedia.org...
It is not an accident this was all going on during this President's first term. I heard people in the Occupy Movement calling for the end to Capitalism. That is what many of them are about. It is about bringing America to it's knees and forcing more and more people to be on the government dole so they can have a complete Marxist takeover.

Very simple. The Viet Nam war was to support French interests and to stop that ancient demon Communism. The hippies were a propaganda stroke of genius and ...in my opinion this is really why, they lied and we didn't believe them. And there is where America lost her mask no white hat here. Just a hard vulgar jungle fight where we had to get nasty to win. With the oval office forbidding areas to be hit and all operations were run from.

Desert Storm was a strategic move.Bush wanted to kill the 4th largest army on the planet ,they were going to hit Saudi Arabia. The ground war took three days, they used Russian tactics as trained.
We scared the hell out of Russia,Established a presence in the Middle East and got the hell out. Almost ZERO contact with any native populations save those under controlled circumstances.

The second war was apparently because they didn't know how many chemical
items we sold him for war he still had and of course lets make a democracy wether they want it or not.

He has no intention to get the House in order.
This man is all about dis-order.

Truly lacking as a Leader and yet magnificent as a Divider.
Way to go down in the history books.... of course, the truth will be twisted & distorted.

You got the title perfect Heff. American Irony, you can cut it with a knife.

Maybe I'm just jaded and cynical, but I have no hope for this country. It is a failed experiment. And everyone just seems to be letting it roll. Our govt. spews nothing but lies, our "news" media broadcast lies 24 hours a day, our children are taught lies in school. And everyone just goes along with the flow. I think deep down they recognize the lies, but they have become so invested in the program that to actually attempt to change anything is so scary it cannot be fathomed.

But I guess I'm no better. I don't care anymore, I just point and laugh and cry and enjoy the show.

Enjoy this show where I feel like the guy who gets run over and the lady is our government:

I think the most important thing to know about this is simply that through our constitution and declaration, we were never meant to form alliances with foreign nations. We were meant to understand that entangling alliances do not stretch across our borders. We should trade with other countries, and be friends with them and our leaders should talk to their leaders in kindness, but we shouldn't be giving them money, or trying to undermine their governments in order to make their people more 'free'. It goes against our nations founding fathers, and their ideas for this country. Eisenhower was a moron.
Its a globalist agenda that really makes me sick. Lets say for a moment that it actually was a good idea to tell the world to be more free through coercion and force. Where would we get the money we don't have to implement yet another useless program?

Um... no. I'm not sure where you got your definition...

en.wikipedia.org...

Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism that came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe. Fascists seek to unify their nation through a totalitarian state that promotes the mass mobilization of the national community, relying on a vanguard party to initiate a revolution to organize the nation on fascist principles. Hostile to liberal democracy, socialism, and communism, fascist movements share certain common features, including the veneration of the state, a devotion to a strong leader, and an emphasis on ultranationalism and militarism. Fascism views political violence, war, and imperialism as a means to achieve national rejuvenation and asserts that stronger nations have the right to obtain land and resources by displacing weaker nations.

You failed to mention that it happened several months before Obama was even in office.

In September 2008, the Big Three (automotive companies) asked for $50 billion to pay for health care expenses and avoid bankruptcy and ensuing layoffs, and Congress worked out a $25 billion loan.[84] By December, President Bush had agreed to an emergency bailout of $17.4 billion to be distributed by the next administration in January and February.

Gee, I wonder if they were influenced on the Internet by someone from another country that was trying to screw with/defeat America. I'm a moderator on another forum and most of the SPAM we get is from Russia and China. It couldn't be people from THOSE countries that have been influencing people in America over the Internet, could it? You didn't actually think those Occupy kids thought that up on their own, did you?

If it had not been Obama, someone else that WE elected would have brought us to the exact same point we are now in terms of loss of liberty/descent into tyranny. This country is slowly giving way to a creeping corporate fascism where the few will pretty much own and run everything. This is being brought about by our own political leadership. And guess how that political leadership came into power??? We the people voted them in!!! WE are responsible for everything that is wrong with this country right now.

I am proud to say I have voted in every election I could, and there is not a single one of these wolves currently holding office that for my vote.

Yes but if the "mob" as you call them start to think they rule, as a "mob" of individuals where individual Civil Liberty IS the Guiding Light and Principal - then the pressure's being applied in the right direction, unto a democratic implosion and transformation of Washington, at all levels, undoing all of this insane policy and lawmaking and in the process restoring the country to a true Democratic Republic where the SHOUT of "we the people" conquors all, because a "quiet revolution" isn't quiet and there has to be alot of shouting, but in the right direction, where it counts, and if "they" do not listen (don't get and read Heff's letter), then WE must SHOUT SOME MORE, not you who clings to the status quo and fears a socio-political upheaval.

We ARE at war, a propaganda war for the dumbed down mind and hearts of the hoard and the mob. What we're up against is idiocy and lunacy and a permissive framework for all manner of corruption and madness.

And soon a rising tide of civil conscious awareness will fill the pyramid until that eye opens in surprize to discover that it's toppling and turning upside down!

Yes, I agree and that would be trying to hold on to the Republic as the Declaration of Independence charges us with. And from what I can find the Dec of Ind. was original attached to the Constitution and was not viewed as a totally different doc.

What I fear about what is coming are those who do not see the importance of what we are suppose to have and try to set up a new form of govt. Because this country is not run the way it is suppose to be most do not even fully understand how good it is, so they "think" it needs changed. But you are right the Dec of Ind. does declare a time for mob rule!

Was it Thomas J. who said "a Republic if you can keep it" or something like that?

DAMN IT! THIS COUNTRY IS NOT, I SAID IS NOT A democracy! AND ANY YING YANG THAT TAKES AN OATH TO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION AND SAYS THAT THIS COUNTRY IS A DEMOCRACY, NEEDS TO STEP DOWN OR BE FRICKIN REMOVED. YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THIS COUNTRY AND HAVE NO BUSINESS HOLDING ANY OFFICE WHOSE JOB IT IS TO RUN THIS COUNTRY!

THIS COUNTRY IS A REBUBLIC! GO AHEAD YOU YING YANG, SAY THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, what's that, "to the REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS". YOU STUPID JACKASS, HOW CAN YOU RUN A COUNTRY YOU TOOK AN OATH TO SERVE WHEN YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT KIND OF GOVERNMENT IT HAS? REALLY ANSWER THAT QUESTION!!!!!!!!

Before you answer the question let me help you out a little. IT'S A DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC!!! Democratic is a descriptive word, aka: an adjective. Democracy is a noun, aka mob rule. In a democracy it does not matter what the law of the land says, it only matters what the majority says. THE US IS A REPUBLIC WHICH IS THE RULE OF LAW, enter THE US CONSTITUTION!!! This country carries the descriptive word "democratic" with it because there was a time when evil, greedy bastards like yourself were not in charge and who ever got the most votes was in office, kind of like the mob ruled. Their is another place where democracy rules, it's called WAR!

Are you declaring war on those you are to be serving? You do know that a democracy does NOT mean the majority of the money right?

edit on 23-7-2013 by BelieveInEnoch because: 2 more questions

um....mate....i REALLY hate to correct you, because it's probably gonna spawn another block of caps.....but we're not supposed to be a democratic republic either...

we're supposed to be a constitutional republic...

NOWT! that's what! You/me all of us are about as potent as a gnats fart in a tornado!

We/all of us on here babble and shout on this site are truly wasting our time, they are in power we are not, and if stupid ignorant sheeple keep enlisting in the armed forces and bully squads (oops ment police)

Then they will stay in power.

P.S

One last thing that i find truly ironic about that turd hill called the US of A is, it was founded on the blood and bodies of the native people already living there.

Who had THEIR rights trodden into the dirt or they where just simply eradicated from the land.

Go figure!

Just as we do

People yearn for rule of law, freedom yadda yadda... just as we do.

You do not yearn for something you have.

That must have been a typo because it wasn't in keeping with the rest of the speech....

It was confirmation that you do not have it, a recognition that you yearn for it.

Funny that....

you just don't understand govt/elite/bankster terms properly. here an example.

Freedom: what it means.

A slave has freedom! he is Free to toil or become the soil. A slave has the freedom to eat his slop for dinner or not. A slave has the freedom to watch his children get poisoned or not

there.. freedom..simple

Thank you for this discussion. We all live with this daily, and seem to be too terrified to do anything about it. What would we do? Vote differently? (Assuming voting is credible). Begin a movement? (How did Occupy Wall Street go?) Blow the whistle on their secret agencies? (Hey, Snowden, great your living in Russia.) I mean, what do we, as the people do? (Considering our government can pinpoint your exact location and drone strike your entire family.)

But what I would like to add is originally from one of my favorite sites (Ted.com), and I thought it might be appropriate for your thread. Thank you for sharing with us, and it's a shame our Country is being raped by her supposed protectors.
Star and Flag for you.

You have made some good points, but I wanted to address something that I keep repeatedly seeing in threads; and that is the use of wikis as a credible source. One of the first things you learn in Digital Literacy, is that Wikis in and of themselves can be unreliable as credible sources, for the very fact that anyone at anytime, can change something. What you can link now, may two minutes later be "earliest known democracy is said to be the flying spaghetti monster in the 5th century BCE"

There are some reliable and established sources out there, if you take the extra step to look. The reason Wikipedia is usually the first site to pop up on any search, is because so many people are using it and updating it. But that doesn't make it 100% fact. Its greatest purpose is also its greatest flaw.

Regards,
Amarri

They call it "Leadership from behind"

It most certainly is Ironic that our Leader can sign the proclamation when:

We established the Constitution to "insure domestic tranquility" yet the DOJ gives guns to narco-terrorists, funds fake demonstrations, refuses to prosecute voter intimidation, refuses to prosecute breaches in IRS security, or even acknowledge rampant voter fraud.

Our Constitution calls for a government that will "provide for the common defence" yet millions are allowed to enter the country without complying with our laws and live a life of crime. The gang rape of a 13 year old girl in Austin, TX last week by a group of foreign criminals being on my mind just now. Secure borders are part of the common defence which should have protected this American child.

The Constitution says we are establishing the United States of America in order to "promote the general Welfare" that did not mean leading our free market based economy into a black hole where real jobs where goods and services are produced are taxed and regulated into oblivian. A government which leads us to the point where more people are getting government food assistance than the number having full time jobs is a failed government with failed leadership.

One of the "Blessings of Liberty" which was to be secured by our Constitution was the freedom to be left alone by government. A government which monitors your whereabouts by scanning your license plates, recording your telephone contacts, keeping a data base of the addresses of all the mail you send through the US Post Office, same for UPS and FedEx, tracks your financial transactions, uses facial recognition software and camera systems in public and private areas, Tracks your phone location, requires you to register and or permit your bike and canoe and firearm and cat and dog and anything else a bureaucrat can dream up clearly has no regard for our "Blessings of Liberty". What's that noise? Looks like a drone doesn't it?

Police State...................a political unit characterized by repressive governmental control of political, economic and and social life..................

So now Big Brother knows where we live, where we go, who we associate with, how we earn our livings, what our political views may be, what money we may have and where we keep it, where we shop, what charities or churches we may give to, what we own, who we owe, what laws or regulations we may have violated, just about everything there is to know. And now, just in case there is something they missed, we have a health care law which puts all our financial and medical history into Big Brother's data base.

If you are too young to have seen East Germany before the Wall came down you may well get to see an American version of that soon.

Pogo said "We seen the enemy and he is us".
Charlie Brown said "We are doomed".

By issuing his proclamation our POTUS is saying,...............
Who knows, he lives in a different reality than those of us who think, work, and produce more than we consume.

My advice it to starve the looters and cannibals who use the power of government to destroy our freedoms and prosperity.

PG
