Yeah, I agree. Someone should compile the entire thing to one post so people can read it easily.

(Why's everybody staring at me?)

I think size and the variety of content make ATS avatars top notch !

I have tried, tried and yes tried to get an Avatar - I wanna have an Avatar
I know where one goes to add to a profile but what does one do to get it in the first place?
Does one need to have a web address (personal) to then load to the ATS site?

Do a google search and you will find tons of sites just for avatars. Save the one you want to your computer and then upload it to ATS.

I have a theory as to why my avatar keeps freezing (It's frozen again for the fifth time
)

Somebody tries to download it, and I don't think it works because it's not on the internet, but in the upload area of my control panal. They can't access my control panal without the username and password, so it freezes up. Then, after a while, it'll just fix itself or a mod/supermod/admn. corrects the error.

So, my message to people who want to download the avatar:

U2U me, and I'll email the file to you.

Nope, it doesnt work that way. It IS on the net, thats the only way we'd all be able to access it, when you uploaded it to ATS, you were putting it on ATS's server for access. Anybody can access it, they dont needa access your CP to get the image.

BTW...everytime somebody views any image it gets downloaded. So it cant be that.

BTWx2...it works perfectly for me.

what browser do you use when it freezes?

why do I ask:

Everytime I've seen it frozen, I was using IE
Usually, I'm using Firefox and have never seen it freeze then

I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not (doubt that it does), it's just something I noticed and am curious about

I used Safari, until I heard about Firefox. I gave that a try, and then that's when it started freezing.

I like the new avater, Unknown Origins!

I think it may be just firefox then not a problem with the server or the pic
can't be 100% certain though

Well, (big surprise) it's frozen again. I'm going to complain to the mods about this.

I wouldn't complain to the mods...it's not frozen on my end, and other people have echoed the same...the mods will only be able to offer you advice, they can't fix it for you...

diehard, care to tell what OS your using? perhaps that may be the problem...
because I've been using firefox and it doesn't freeze and it's apparent it's only on your end (I'm using XP right now despite my hatred towards it)

Macintosh 10.2.8 on an iMac 800 MHz

Unknown, you said you saw it frozen before, didn't you?

And don't feel bad, I hate Mac's more that you will ever be able to believe. Wish my parents would buy me a custom computer from Puget Systems. But I'll be old enough to get a job next year, and I can move out 2 years after that!

yes but it wasn't just yours, it was a problem with a plugin I found out
all animated gif's were freezing
I think it may just be your OS that causes your avatar to freeze then
