It's like my old social studies teacher used to say. "Every country needs a good revolution once and a while. Keeps everyone in check."

Hopefully it doesn't come down to that.

All this bill is is a reauthorization of the Brady bill, which lapsed under President Bush and was not pursued by Democrats when they held the government.

Yes this the same law that was in place from 1994 until 2004. So if people who managed to live from1994 till 2004 could come forward and tell us about those dark years of civil war and FEMA camps it might tell us what will happen if this passed again. Those must have been dark days.

And what happened during those years? Columbine. And no, this is not even close to being the same thing. This is an all out assault on the second amendment and will lead to an eventual ban of ALL firearms.

WTF do you mean help the credibility of this place? ATS is more credible than you are, spouting all that BS. Facts are facts, and ATS does a damn good job, as a whole, of sorting fact from fiction. So show me the fiction, cause what I have presented, as did Drudge, is reality. They ARE INDEED coming for your guns.

So civil war is coming? Really? They are coming for my guns? With this law? You know the same one we lived with for ten years 1994 through 2004? I know gun laws are lighter than ever before but to try and make it seem like this is not something gun owers lived with for 10 years and had not problems is nothing but, hyperbole and foolishness. That is even if it could get passed. Which is unlikely at best.

Yes it is one among thousands of bills that go nowhere every year. This of course being ATS of course that fact is changed to all guns are banned FEMA camps are being filled on friday. It is like the boy who cried wolf, if anything serious ever does come up it will just be chalked up to the usual crap that spewed here and ignored. If people would lay crazy claims like civil war and present infomation as it is and not full of hyperbole it might help this credibility of this place.

Hmmmmm, really? So those of us who are vigilant and bring up points and facts that our government officials are doing make this site crazy? However, not a peep out of you on an elected official who is openly violating our Constitution...................................????

INTERESTING..........

www.feinstein.senate.gov... link to the pdf and no it does not list any of the guns by name and that is quite ambiguous and i dont like it at all especially this part

Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include: o Background check of owner and any transferee; o Type and serial number of the firearm; o Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint; o Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and o Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

good

no need for high capacity magazines

all these guns really provide, in any practical sense, is the ability of the owner to fantasize about using them and to feel like a tough guy

and statistics show they will more lilkely be used by the owner on a family member, or agaisnt the owner than on an intruder

"happiness is a warm gun...bang bang shoot shoot"

sweet dreams

A billion dollar payoff to the NRA lobbyists to stay out of it, and keep quiet?

that i think is gonna be another unforeseen consequence of this IF it passes imagine all the insurance claims on "boating accidents" or "theft" or simply the amount of misplaced fire arms (like what happened after Canada repealed its long gun ban suddenly guns started popping back into existence)

Hey bro left out one bit.

There shall be NO INFRINGEMENT WHATSOEVER upon our god given second amendment rights

That should read, "god given and constitution backed, second amendment rights"!

Yeah, isn't deliberately posting false/misleading info against the T&C of above top secret? Back up those statements with verifiable sources or GTFO of the thread.

Truth is that happy endings rarely make it farther than local news and social media. Happy endings are not good for ratings.

No, it isn't. Go and read the 1994 law and then re-read that summary and note the differences.

Re treating semi auto "assault weapons" like fully auto weapons requiring registration, tax stamps, etc. please see my previous thread ("Gun Control: Here is how it will go down") before it gets deleted like a related thread on suggested legislation to protect the Second Amendment (and other rights).

How about 11,15 or even 19 attackers. Anything else?

When you're attacked by more than one person, for example, or when that person is on drugs. I don't know how many people you've shot, but they don't just magically fall down and die when you hit them once unless you get really, really lucky.. or they aren't moving and you can actually aim at their head. In which case, I probably wouldn't mention it.
