What the next 4 years are going to look like

Conservatives will continue to whine and bath in ignorance.

They will continue to confuse SS and Medicare with deficit spending, continue to ignore the huge military budget and growing interest payments money spent on the military. Continue to ignore that the primary purpose of the US Military is to support corporations exportation of US jobs. Continue to ignore that corporations are the largest welfare recipients. Continue to ignore that repub politicians have raised taxes on the middle class year after year, while cutting taxes on the rich.

On and on conservatives cling to delusion.

Clinton and democrats in congress cut the deficit in half before republicans took over the house. 1995 was a democratic budget, first repub budget was 1996.

Republicans actually slowed deficit reduction, and the contract on America created both the .com bubble and the housing bubble.

Oh, and the red states are the welfare states.

Did you know the democrats stonewalled the republicans to pass the 19th amendment for the right of women to vote.

Did you know the democrats stonewalled the republicans to pass the 15th amendment for the right of african americans to vote.

The democrats have a really bad history of being the party of slave owners, not letting women vote, setting up concentration camps on full blooded Japanese Americans on us soil, and are now trying to enslave the people to be dependent on government.

I think the question we should all be looking at here is why did the the very different Republican party of that time free the slaves? History would tell you that it was not because they personally wanted to do the "right thing."

That is a very good point that many people also like to ignore. Or even use as a 1up card to support that "their man" Mr. "honest" Abe, was such a better guy because he "freed the slaves."

Very true! I agree but would like to add that Republican aren't much better when we really look at what was done and why it was done.

I think that last bit is true but as someone who looks at the bigger picture, I know that it is both the Democrats AND the Republicans working together to do this.

This seems to mostly be true and I've yet to figure out why. Why do all of the poor and uneducated people who get welfare keep voting for politicians who claim to be anti welfare and are clearly have something against the lower class citizens of our country? They do realize that Republicans are not really as religious as they claim to be to win elections don't they?

You people keep screaming at and fighting each other about how the side that you do not vote for is corrupt and I keep telling all of you that both sides are equally corrupt and all of you keep ignoring me.

The alternative could be that Government could pay private corporations the money, if you don't want common people to have any of it. Governments love giving corporate handouts, and they love to spend all the spare money they have at their disposal (typically) - at least the corporations don't complain when they get money from government.

I fail to see how Obama bought the votes. Is there some clause that says, if your government gives you food stamps, vote for Obama?

How do you know, it is a guarantee that they'll vote for Obama? If the Republicans find out about this, then if they wish to win, maybe they could do the same thing?

The Republicans on the other hand opt to cut food stamps etc... and in return they get paid the big bucks (campaign contributions) by the corporations that want such measures in place.

Not having food stamps might also force governments to increase police presence and prisons - which is a saving that no one seems to take in to account. Not to mention that children are badly affected by malnourishment. If anyone examined reality a lot of social programs have been established by private corporations - why would they do that? Is it not enough that the government spends their hard earned money on social programs already?

I need to add a small correction here:

During WWII, it was NOT just full-blooded Japanese who were forced to leave everything they owned behind (to be confiscated by the government & looted by their neighbors) and herded into "Internment camps."

The order was for anyone who was as much as 1/8 Japanese:

that means full-blooded Japanese,
half Japanese,
quarter Japanese, and
one eighth Japanese.

Of course, they say it had nothing to do with race, it's that anyone of Japanese blood was so dangerously loyal to the Emperor that they cannot be trusted -- even if they're US citizens.

Thats quite the asshole-ish reply there. I work the schedule I do building one business while earning a full-time income at the other. I do so because I have two teenage daughters to raise, a wife that is having trouble finding a new job, a home payment and two car payments. So even though I'm a trained computer programmer, website designer and graphic artist, it is still tough to make ends meet.

You see...in PA, gas has more than doubled in price since Obama took office and with that came much higher food prices. The jobs are scarce as they are in many other places and employers are afraid to hire due to Obama care expenses and the fear of how "redistribution" will effect their businesses.

So...before you start making smart ass comments about someone's skills, maybe you should ask for an explanation instead of just being an ignorant ass.
