To the GOP: Is it about your Religion? Your Rights? Your Money?

I am hesitant to post this, but, the momentum will be lost if I wait.

The Republicans are majorly angry.
The Democrats are breathing a sigh of relief.

I've been thinking about the issues that were splattered all over the place this election season, and I see a huge dichotomy. I really can't tell what it is you right-wingers all are so upset about.

Religion?
You don't want to pay for birth control in order to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and back-alley abortions that would continue anyway? You don't want Evolution taught in schools? (BTW, in my bible-belt "red" state, the person running for the GOP who wanted to eliminate Evolution from the school curriculum LOST!) (Yay!)

You are afraid of Muslims?
You hate gays?

Is it your Rights?
You feel they are being eroded and eventually will be taken entirely away from you? That is not happening unless you are doing something wrong. I still have my rights - except if I want to build a bomb or fly a plane into a building or kill people in a theatre...
....the NDAA? Are you planning a government overthrow? Are you someone who should be worried about getting caught?

Is it your Money?
That's "growing" without you doing a damn thing but throwing money at Wall Street speculators? Newsflash: This isn't the last part of the 20th century anymore! Hard work is back, and living within one's means. We the huge majorty of normal people (who are not rich, white, stuffed shirts with multiple homes and off-shore accounts) will not have the same success that our parents did in the gambling den that has now collapsed (due to cheaters and tax evaders and loophole finders and mortgage swindlers). The banks and the global corporations ruined that. There is no more "job security" in working for an American company, like there was 50 years ago.

For my mother, who is now in her 70s, she is afraid, and I totally understand that (she's also NOT a Republican) because my father during his working decades DID invest in the markets, and she now has a comfortable retirement because of it. If she loses her investments because the stock market tanks, she's out of luck and money. And no inheritance for me (for what it's worth, it is WAY less than the $250K "ceiling" to be continued "wealthy"). But for me, I realize that dream is not within my reach; and so I am making do knowing I'll never be wealthy. The American dream has morphed.

Yes, layoffs are going to happen in the global corporations that are publicly held, because the RICH do not want to contribute. If Romney had said, "If you elect me I will empty my Cayman Island accounts and put them all PERSONALLY toward the national debt! AND, I will bring ALL OF THE OUTSOURCED jobs BACK HERE!" I'd have voted for him. But he didn't, and he never will.

Is it the cost of Gasoline?
We need to be INDEPENDENT from foreign fuel sources, and we need to use the things available to us ABOVE GROUND. We need to stop polluting the earth just because we haven't yet managed to get free of the grip of fossil fuels. We NEED to encourage green energy; put the coal and oil workers to work finding OTHER WAYS.

The horse is dead. We have to move FORWARD, to find sustainable systems in EVERY aspect of our economy, global or otherwise.

People need to be fed and sheltered. They don't need 100-foot yachts.

They need to be educated, not enslaved.

They need the resources to farm and develop cottage industries, and the training to do so.

Clean water, basic medicines, and freedom from fear for survival.

Jobs, and a hand up. Not to be laid off because some shareholder gets his panties in a twist or some CEO who can't manage with less than a 7-figure "bonus" whines. You have enough extra money to live without $25K a year? HIRE SOMEONE who needs it!

The only RIGHTS being affected are those that deal with being a terrorist, or hoarding excess cash which was gained by gambling, handing power over to "investors", or deceit. Somehow I DON'T get the impression that the wealthy are going to voluntarily pitch in for the needy and disenfranchised. Everyone talks about how "it's their (my) money, it should be their (my) choice".....
and business models.....Profit Profit Profit. What about the people being laid off so your precious "profits" are protected? HOW is that okay? You stamp your feet about people needing subsidies to survive, but you lay them off when your shareholders' "dividends" are likely to diminish?

Do you really not get it? Really? You're scared that the fiat fake money system will turn your account balance into zero? What about the people who don't even know what a bank IS, let alone have lots and lots of 000000000000s following the digits preceding them?

Guns? They're not going to take your guns!!!

Education? You don't think everyone needs education? Only the elite's kids? So they can be indoctrinated into Wall Street and fiat ponzi schemes and the "working class" stays ignorant and barely scrapes by?

I have tried, harder this year than any other year, to understand where the Republicans are coming from.
"Our values! Our morals! Our way of life!"

Well, if your values, morals, and way of life are HURTING OTHERS by your neglect of those others, and your self-centered "capitalist" success, how does that help anything?

War is okay with you?
You don't want to admit that a 2000 year old religion is now outdated?
You don't want to be "forced" to help (when that is what you should be doing if you can)....? (That was supposed to be handled by your parents before you reached age 5! It's called "sharing")

So, I ask you -
Really, HOW do you want it to be? HOW do you think the old system of croney-capitalism and division of classes and hoarding of wealth (except, of course, in election years, when you can throw all sorts of money at the candidates and SuperPACS, but not to the people who actually need your HELP) is okay?

ENOUGH! Enough lobbying, enough career politicians, enough money spent on elections. Enough off-shore accounts, and tax loopholes and special interest money and neglect of sustainable population and sustenance for them!

It literally makes me sick to my stomach just to think about how much money was spent on this process, only to wind up with what we see now.

Obama did not BREAK the system. He is slowly untying the strangle-hold that the super-wealthy have on the "normals." He is attempting to protect our PLANET and ensure LESS money spent on wars and imported oil, and MORE on alternate fuels and global peace and diplomacy.

And there is NOTHING wrong with ANY of that!

He is not a Muslim, or a Communist, or a Tyrant, or a Dictator, or a King, or trying to destroy the Constitution.

Please, people, calm down. Chillax. Evolve. Have your values and ALSO share your hoard. You can't have it both ways, being a "good Christian" and ALSO a rich vulture. Doesn't add up. Do your part, or expect the government to have to do it for you. Either way, Americans will not be left to die in the streets. Obamacare is so awful? What is your suggestion? Let them die?

If you want freedom from government, then behave in a way that doesn't hurt others! Stop blaming the people who've already been hurt.

I agree that the republican party, presented to us, is a warring people.

The reality is politicians are dogs to their masters, like America is the watchdog to Israel.

Yes.....Greece and much of socialist Europe has evolved a lot.

How's that working out? I guess we're going to find out first-hand very soon.

Some of it might be about THE LIES.

I would like to see the republican party be a party I consider voting for, because I am very conservative politically in some ways.

I was hearing from someone I know that when Romney was ahead, some whites were yelling WHITE POWER out loud in a very UGLY way in front of some black guys AT WORK. Now, that company has a big problem, but that's a problem - IMO, for the republican party too- NO ONE wants to vote for a party that comes across as HATEFUL.

I've also heard a lot of stories that are just CRAZY - like "Obama is going to tell em how much to pay us now and we're all going to be making less, and he's gonna tell companies what they can and can't make. I saw it in an email."

Now, I do get some of these emails from my 76 year old dad - and some of them are DOOZIES. Like Obama just became dictator of the US instead of president.

BUT THEN - to be fair - I just heard someone up in NYC saying "Why can't OBAMA demand that every plumber and electrician in the city come and MAKE THEM get this stuff fixed." Basically, she was advocating labor conscription.

Honestly, US poltics reminds me of a CELL in mitosis. Crazy waits at both ends.

If you're right? Well then it will all fall to pieces and the conservatives will be there, at the ready, with their guns and their wish to take it all back to 200 years ago - and with an opportunity to do it.

So far, see no one offering up answers to my questions. I'd really like to understand. Greece is part of the EU. We don't have a system like theirs. Unless you want to divide up the states into "separate countries".

If following the constitution, advocating for limited government, supporting the rights of the unborn, and fiscal responsibility are outdated 200 year old practices than YES…..I want to go back to THAT!!

Well we could ALL decide to stick together and look at the stress causing us to fragment - NO ONE can evolve when the ennvironment remains perfectly sterile and unchanging - it's the banking.

Society cannot change until the banking system changes. It is DUG IN, saying IT isn't going anywhere, go ahead, split yourselves up and kill each other. We'll sit here and watch knowing we've financed both sides.

I don't get it, either. And I'm getting less and less hopeful that we're ever going to find a middle ground to work with. It's hard to do that when you have a group of people trying to argue from they feel is a position of moral superiority and absolutism.
