Wow, I've never seen anything like it, then again I have no clue as to what a solar analemma is. Beautiful...

The photo is a time lapse of the movement of the Sun taken over a year.
From a fixed time of day and position from Earth

Fascinating. First off, I am just flabbergasted at the dedication of the photographer to capture these images for a year.

What I find curious is that this forms a figure 8. I always thought it would be a, more or less, straight line. I'm assuming the crossover in the figure would be the equinoxes. What puzzles me is why one loop is so much larger than the other. Anyone here have an explanation of why that is?

Yes I think it is related to position on the Earth where the photos were taken.
I imagine if they were taken at the equator it would be symmetrical

It is because of the axis tilt that Earth has that causes it not to be completely symmetrical. Also, the crossover is not the equinoxes, they are about two or three suns down on this picture.

I am assuming then that the it is the cross over point of the Solstices

Edit to add - Would be good if the individual suns on the plotted course were dated
