What happens if wayseers come together?

I saw this the other day and was really inspired by such creative thinking. I am going to use it in the classroom as an intellectual/thinking stimulus. I have shown the Wayseer Manifesto in classes and Students seem to love it.

Please forgive me, I'm tired and I always get a little crabby when I'm tired. I'd appreciate some other link. The video sounded to me like part of a high pressure sales pitch with no product.

Is he asking for prople to volunteer? That's been done, and is being done. Is he asking for poeple to meditate an hour a day? No comment. Is he asking people to think hard about world problems and come up with the solutions which somebody will implement?

As I said, I'm probably just tired.

I'd just wonder who could be a "Wayseer" and who couldn't.

When they say the world's best minds I suppose they mean scientists.
Now there's a huge disjuncture between science and popular culture.

Many top scientists have advanced GM foods and nuclear power, which some radical groups and their social followers will NEVER accept.

So what's the point of having top scientific minds when the people only accept pseudoscience and crap?

Maybe our top minds should be people who channel dolphins.
That would make the masses happy.
AIDS is caused by stress and the lack of happy vitamins.
No need for condoms or big bad pharma.
We can stop war and cause peace with protests and music festivals.
Capitalism is bad, and socialist countries with massive pollution are good.
All the natural disasters happen because of gay sex.
That's why homophobic countries like Uganda, Zimbabwe, Iran and North Korea are doing so well!
God loves homophobia!
Now send us some more money for useless crap and pontifications.
That's the kind of sick minds the majority want!

Thanks for sharing your point of view - though sarcasm is only half as accurate as a half-truth - and, in the context of the Wayseers, its obviously referring to us all, and the "best" being those who are 'good' by action of using their minds for positive contributions to global transformation and freedom!~

Well, thanks, and sorry if I came across as sarcastic.

It is certainly a truth though that scientists and their solutions are treated with a great amount of suspicion nowadays, even by some governments.
Zambia, for example, refused to accept food-aid because it was GM.
Almost for a decade before 2008 South Africa's government was against HIV/AIDS medicines.
Earlier in the century African tribes refused to have their livestock dipped.
Who are the wayfarers in this case?
The scientists or traditionalists?

I'm still not sure on exactly what the "wayfarers" are supposed to do?

How can people work for so many hours to make 50 new Empire State Buildings (as said in the OP clip)?
Where will they get the raw materials and resources?
Hopefully not from the lands of tribal minorities, as usual.

Why must so many people work so hard to become like the West?
Why can't the West come down to us?

What is poverty?

What does it mean to "end poverty"?

It's all quite uncertain.

An old adage: "not all scientists are scientific."
This seems to sum up the perspective conveyed through your words, though dont let this be the case where the few ruin it for the many because the abuse of power transcends categories - that is, many scientists are good, and many are even more influenced by their funders...kind of like politicians and lobbyists....

And youre right; throughout history the blood, sweat and tears of the disempowered, construct the towers of the 'empowered'...because poverty (money) is their mechanism used to manipulate people in a scheme of a slave system, which really has not place on the Earth.

As Wayseers, it is our job (whether we adopt that title or another) to see what is wrong in this world, &bring it to light by questioning it and standing up for what we believe is right!
