Thank you for your service!

You deserve every bit of respect and gratitude that our service men and women do.

In fact, I wonder what that talking head on the radio contributes to society? Stress? Division? Heartache? Misdirection? Those idiots making money through the media really need reigned in, but unfortunately there are plenty of people that pay to advertise on the programs, because there are plenty of people listening to the garbage they spout.

Anyhow, if there were more people staying home like you, and taking care of their own business, the world would be a much better place!

I firmly believe that a stay at home mom is just as important as a job as any that a woman can do.

Feminists are supposed to be about equality, but really they aren't. If they were about equality and fairness they wouldn't have any negative believes about stay at home moms and realize that they do play an important role in society and not pass any stigma on to them.

After all, if it's truly about women's choice, and not getting women away from men at any cost, then they should recognize that a woman has just as much of a right to choose to be a stay at home mom or a career woman.

Some women out there really hate men a lot, and will do anything to take all women away from them. Why, i don't know, but people really shouldn't hate an entire gender. Men and women included.

hello, i love your post, in my ideal world i would be doing the exact same as you, and in an ideal world my husband would love it that way too. i don't want anyone to rip into me as these are just what i would like in an ideal world,

i would be a stay at home mum who would preferably home school the children but also send them to play groups so they get to interact with other children and adults, i would be able to go out to a local market and buy fresh food everyday that i could cook for my family, maybe even grown veg in my own garden, i would keep the house clean and tidy so that when my husband who had also been out working all day would get home and we could then spend quality time as a family together and relax.

unfortunately this isn't possible for most families anymore, as it wouldn't be for us if we wanted to start a family, because everything is so expensive that it usually requires both parents to be earning a living.

But no one has the right to say that stay at home mothers degrade the women of our society, bringing up children and caring for your family surely has to be the most important job in the world!

thank you

I'm a stay at home Dad.

These are my personal circumstances.

I used to be embarrassed by the situation.

I wish I could work...It was definitely easier than taking care of a household.

This was awesome. It reminds me of the old Jerry Clower skit "Momma don't want you messin' up her deal"! Anyways, the satire of this was just perfect, and you are right it is not work, it is labor, a labor of love. If only the feminist realized that a big part of todays social problems is the breakdown of the family unit.

It should be equal the deal I made with my wife we we started to have children whoever had the better paycheck lost and had to keep "working". The other got to be "kept" as they put it. I lost!

Great post thanks

No. Feminists are the ones who demand economic equality.

No no..

You misunderstand. That would be egalitarianism. Feminists actually believe in female superiority my friend, not equality among men.

The definition of feminism has been warped to be some how about "equal" rights, but it's not. It's a misnomer.

Isn't saying that a modern woman should be doing the 9-5 grind, paying bills and whatever else just as sexist and repressive as a man saying a woman's place is at home?

In my opinion, as long as the woman in question makes the choice for herself, anything goes. It's the people who believe you should be doing a specific thing based on your sex, sexual orientation, race, creed, color or religion who is the oppressor.

Funny how this particular feminazi has become what she hates.

Logic. Of course, you won't convince feminists using solid reasoning like this, because if they could understand reason, they wouldn't hold the positions they do in the first place.

Minnie,
Thank you for your kind words. Hoepfully, someday, you'll get to have the opportunity I have finally been given in my later years.
It made me so sad when my kids were sick, there was a sick day care center that was nearby and I couldn't stay home with them because I had to work when they were ill. I understand how you feel and rejoice that you are happy for me now.

Great post. You have chosen the most important profession of all.

I personally think that the radical Progressives are digging a pit to bury themselves in.

This made me think of that woman at Harvard in the early 1990's who taught the class for young women all sex being rape. Isn't that the woman who runs NOW now? Can't recall anymore, but I remember the news stories and a book. Same people anyway.

These people must have grown up in bad homes themselves to make them so bitter. Perhaps if their mothers had put them first they would not be so angry.

I'm not quite sure I could of sat there and listened to the drivel to be honest. But then I don't listen to radio nor do I watch t.v. I draw the line at a couple of films and even then they can turn me off if they start on about some non-sense. Films like act of valor for example!

Any way, some people really do believe that the whole point to life is to work, get given paper, buy crap, what a sad sad existence! Oh don't let me forget that you must have more crap than the other people around you! If you do not then you have FAILED! lol It depresses me somewhat.

I guess I would just say don't let the idiots get to you! Sounds like you have your priorities in order and that you are the foundations of your family unit. Good for you.

From a pyschological standpoint, a stay at home mom (or dad) is far preferable than toting kids to daycare.

I would LOVE to stay at home with my son. I would also LOVE to school my son at home. Unfortunantely, my husband (who is also a teacher) simply doesn't make enough to allow us this luxury.

OP...your post was incredible. Thank you for sharing.

I firmly believe that stay at home dads work just as hard and deserve respect like stay at home moms. Your job is hard. My daughter who makes a lot of $ talked about her husband staying home and I supported that idea. But he really was ashamed to do it, how sad.
People who "stay home" and care for their families contribute a great deal to society and to the overall life satisfaction of their entire household!

What I've come to learn, is that with most feminists, it actually isn't about men at all. It's women who hate more desirable women, out of jealousy. That's why feminists usually consist of the most unattractive women. When they hate on chivalry, it's because they are angry that they aren't the ones receiving the attention.

Desirable women are the ones who are able to become stay at home types. Undesirable women don't ever get this opportunity, and they have to work instead, because men don't want them. The ironic thing is, they exert so much passion and energy expressing their hatred of chivalry, that if they spent just half that energy on a treadmill, they would suddenly find themselves desirable too.

I think the political Madness forum is the right place for this to be. With all that's been going on with massive lay-offs and the high unemployment, people expect to see others do what they can to provide for their families. IE having a "real" job. What they fail to realise is a stay at home mom or wife is as valuble, well to my eyes, as the person that does 9 to 5. Feminists are so ass backwards it's not even funny anymore. So don't take offence, they don't know better. And if they do know better then they'll find something else wrong with you to complain about. So shrugg it off and cary on. You got my vote.

I don't know who stars posts like that.

It's even more of a mystery than the exhibited perception of women that drives the response you're starring.

Did you try and write that response to seek a negative reaction...or are only women who are hot chicks worthy f value in your world?

Youporn is thataway, dude.

you may be sitting at home but at least your making good use of your time helping others instead of being lazy and lying on the sofa watching TV all day, you play a role of helping others, a role which brings happiness to your family so dont feel bad about staying at home when you bring happiness to others and you help the community

thank you very much for you reply, its nice to be able to share views on life with people from all over the world, and thank you for your kind words too. me and my hubby have decided against having children, its not that we don't want them but that we don't feel it would be right to, we've learnt alot about what this world is really like in the last 8 months and we don't want to bring another life into it, we'll get our chance in the next life when everything is perfect,

thank you

Directing any script about what women can and can't, should and shouldn't be doing isn't Feminism... it's being a bitch or a prick.

A reply that reeks of arrogance and ignorance.

All ugly women are feminists. Unbelievable. You equate a woman's WORTH with her physical beauty?

Now that's ugly....

OP, I love your post and I do strongly disagree with what you described as viewpoints from the talk show. I think they were taken out of context.

However, IMO, everyone is missing the point!

The status of "Wonder-Women" who do it all are degrading the status of women in our society!

Women, whether you work outside the home, or don't, you still do the most "work" if there are other family members involved (husbands, children, other close relatives near-by).

Men, even if you are working, you probably deep down inside know this to be true. At the most, you may be one who handles grass-cutting, taking out the garbage, and other infrequent tasks.

Women, even those who work 6-6, still are generally the ones who prepare the meals, do most all of the house-keeping/cleaning, take care of the laundry, take care of most, if not all, of the childrens' needs, go shopping, this list is very long and I could create a whole thread on details.

Instead, I will say, unless you able to afford a full-time housekeeper, cook, nanny, you are not degrading other women.

Just doing what a "wonder woman" is supposed to be doing.
