Sometimes the sheer ignorance and total lack of empathy of some folks still astounds... and at those times it's easy to fervently wish for a cleansing asteroid or selective plague to wash away the dumb and mean...

but then it passes and one thinks, "Oh, yeah... the nice folks, the geniuses and the puppies," and "If the idiots were gone then what would we do for laughs or a satisfying sense of superiority?" and it all makes sense.

The Nazis put the building blocks in place at a time of peace. The concentration camps opened early on and then they grew, like a hideous blight. The Nuremburg Laws, which put the so-called legal framework in place, were written in 1935. The murder of the disabled started in 1939, right at the start of the war. The Einstazgruppen did their terrible work in 1941, when the Nazis were 'winning'. The death camps also started up in 1941. There was never any justification for any of it, other than these things were the logical culmination of the Nazi's racial and religious and come to that political policies.

I hope Greece are not the new Nazi Germany.
But with a neo nazi party, I can see some trouble coming with Turkey, even though there's always been trouble with Turkey.
Maybe these lot take it to the next level, with the help of those who got them into power.
Because let's face it, the Greeks are no match for the Turks, in military terms.

I wouldn't regard a 6 to 8% Neo Nazi composition within the Greek Parliament as a portent towards the 4th Reich!
But it will be interesting to see where this goes throughout the rest of Europe as more and more people become totally disilusioned with their respective governments,especially on the immigration issue.

Does anyone actually know how closely the Golden Dawn's political stance correlates to the 25 Point Program?

I tried to check, but I couldn't find it laid out properly by the Golden Dawn anywhere.

Most neo-Nazis bear little-to-no resemblance to the originals.

I'm fairly certain that Hitler would have found most of them to be sloppy, dirty, badly-presented, ill-educated, alcoholic, disorganized drug addicts who have no real idea what National Socialism is.

There are many areas near to where I live that are inhabited by non indigenous people and they do have a certain smell to them they are also a mess I mean litter disrepair and generally places you wouldnt want to go to a night I think its just a lack of respect and no sense of pride for the country they live in

Its astonishing given the atrocity's perpetrated on the Greek people by the Nazis in WW2. On the Greek island of Crete alone entire villages of men,women and children were dragged out of their homes and executed in cold blood by German soldiers in retaliation for the fierce resistance that they encountered from the cretian population.

For the historically challenged, BTW, Hitler was a drug addict... or at least was an enthusiastic user with a devoted doctor feelgood.

And most soldiers on all sides popped massive amphetimines as war is hard on sleep.

lack of empathy for anyone who thinks they can break the law to better themselves turn there back on there problems and shoulder the cost on there neighbours definately

there is going to be alot of greeks and folks in general, who will be agreeing w/ the neo-nazi golden dawn groups, the way darthdamo does. Simply because Greece has fallen apart, broken, invaded by immigrants, and in a pathetic shape on the world stage ...which means.... "Enter Hitler type personality to fix it all"

Dems/Repubs, Indy's, Union based ...all have come & gone and Greece is in the toilet. Well yes Hitler also used a lot of amphetamine as he didn't get much time to sleep either, leading a nation in war is nerve wracking business. By 1945 his health was extremely bad.

True enough, it's easy for me take a moral high ground while living in a land of riches and comfort. It wasn't my intention to hop on a high horse.
That said, as I stated with those who claimed to only be following orders while running death camps don't get a free pass. They saw what was going on. They operated those camps ruthless efficiency, and no care for the human lives they were taking by the masses every day.
If I was a grunt in Paris, I probably wouldn't have a true clue of the real nazi agenda. But if I was a camp guard, I have no ground to stand on.
A final note, we're no longer in the 30s. We know what the nazi party is all about, so I find it mind blowing anyone could support such a group, in any way, shape, or form, in the "Age of Information".

Yes because Greece will automatically go to war if they get a national socialist party to power (which the golden dawn doesn't even seem to be, from what I've gathered in this thread). From what I remember Germany was doing a lot better after Hitler came to power than before, until the war that is.

One of their manifesto pledges is to return eastern cyprus to Greek rule. This shows how disillusioned they are, turkey being the second largest army in Nato..I have no doubt that they would try though if they could.
