Well, this thread has ballooned to top dog. Congrats to the OP. My 2 shekel opinion is that an Obama win guarentees the US dollar will no longer be the world's reserve currency. Bernanke will continue ZIRP until at least 2017, and he will continue to print dollars out of thin air and monitize trillions upon trillions of new Obama debt issued by the US Treasury. Foreign nations will avoid US debt like the plague and instead will be cashing in their T-Bills faster than a homeless man with a winning lottery ticket....and Bernanke will be printing to no end to cover the expatriation of US wealth.

I know Obama is never going to make the realy painful economic entitlement decisions needed to get us to a balanced budget...let alone actually making payments to lower our debt. No matter his good intentions, he will end up leaving the next administration with such a crushing debt load that the United States will become economically paraylized and miserable. He will look like an old man and be full gray by 2017. Expect gun sales to dwarf 2011 levels.

That was your first reasoning ,
So if you believe there is an establishment controlling the scene why vote in the first place!

It is messed up isn't it? I don't agree with many of RP's positions but I don't think he's truly a bad guy. Like I said, I'll probably vote for Nader if he runs. It doesn't matter if you vote for Obama in Tennessee anyway. He would never carry this state. The GOP could run Satan on their ticket and people in this state would vote for him because he's GOP. It's a laughable, but it's true.

I think my setup looks promising though. The conservative SCOTUS may well crown our new king again. Disgusting isn't it? People are voting for personalities because in truth not one of the candidates have economic policies that differ from each other (save Ron Paul, which is just burn it to the ground). There is no true Left in this country and the people on this board spouting off about Socialism have no idea what it is. I do get a kick out of it, but the bottom line is Ignorance rules the day in our society. it's about sounds bites, bumper sticker slogans and identity politics. All adding up to nothing more than the same steaming pile of crap we've had for the last 30 years.

So in closing, if you are poor it's high time you just eat cake and die, because that's what the establishment wants you to do. The Democrats do it in secret, the Republicans say it to your face.

And with that since it's my birthday I am going to go eat some cake and drink some coffee. ya'll have fun now.

Funny, 3 years of failure, then he starts to fulfill 3 or 4 of his promises (during a re-election campaign, who'da guessed!?), and you let that be your guide for the next 4 years?

You forgive him for Obamacare now? You forgive him for all the unemployment, racism, bailouts, socialist policies? You forget that he wants to replace the US Constitution with UN laws, all because he wants to tax the rich more?

Good thinking. I pity your children.

So, bottom line you won't vote for someone just because of the idea that they are 'likely to lose'? But instead you will vote someone you have always been against?

Here I thought we had people who knew where they stood. Instead we have people who make compromises because we don't like the cards in our hands.

I don't know how much more holes does obama need to put in this sinking ship for you to realize that he's not in it to fix it. You might as well support SOPA at this point.

There is a bigger force existing within the US, and that is the retiring baby-boomer generation. They want their cake, and they don't give a flying frack if only crumbs are left for the next generation, because they want to exit this planet in as much comfort as possible and they have enough political and economic power to do it.

Most Republicans are absolutely looney tunes: going off on racist rants, threatening people with violence, and being extremely vulgar and disrespectful to anyone who doesn't share their views. Social Conservatism is dead.

I would not be able to vote for ANY OF THEM outside of Ron Paul in good conscience, I hate them. Horrible people are horrible.
edit on 28-1-2012 by L00kingGlass because: (no reason given)

And it's way darker now. The blog Dakota Voice gives a great review of Michael Savage's book "Trickle Up Poverty" which gives a scathing expose on the POTUS.

Back on Thursday, August 5th, the same day the Senate shamefully confirmed the ridiculously unqualified socialist radical, Elena Kagan, to the Supreme Court, and the day after a so-called judge in California overturned the will of over 7 million California voters who, with Proposition 8, rightly said marriage is between a man and a woman, and I heard Dr. Michael Savage mention on his national radio show that his new book, Trickle Up Poverty, was available for pre-ordering on Amazon, I ordered a copy.

He touches on the causes of our anger and fear for the loss of our country at the hands of deeply embedded radical leftists who have enacted one unconstitutional piece of legislation, egregious policy and court ruling after another, all the while thumbing their noses at us as they get snot-slinging drunk on the absolute power that corrupts absolutely.

Dr. Savage spends the next two chapters dissecting Obama’s Marxist-Leninist roots and giving readers a crash course in socialism. Obama’s communist associations and influences are so over-the-top, that it’s all the more maddening to remember how the media so slavishly broke its back trying to keep Obama’s past unreported during the ’08 presidential campaign. The dirty rats!

The chapter on our military will rip your heart out. Dr. Savage reports on the outrageous rules of engagement by which our soldiers and Marines are bound, and I do mean bound. These rules of engagement are such that they could have been written by the very enemy himself! Dr. Savage makes plain that Obama is systematically and deliberately taking a wrecking ball to our national defense, and it defies all logic, unless you understand that it is being done on purpose. Dr. Savage outlines how all of the vicious deeds of this administration are indeed being done on purpose, and he tells us why.

www.dakotavoice.com...

And I was inspired to post this because just yesterday I was reading that chapter on military rules of engagement and I just couldn't believe the outrageous way they are trying to fight war. Do any of the POTUS supporters care how he is putting our own troops in harm's way for some stupid leftist pc policy of alerting the enemies they are about to be searched? How frikken stupid can the these people be?

I don't think even anybody here knows what he is doing to our military. Everybody here whines about how the military is fighting wars in all these exotic places but NOBODY is worried about what this insane gollum creature of a potus is putting our own military through.

I'd like Obamacare to have gotten passed, look at Canada's system and the approval rate is overwhelming. Like everyone on this rock we live in the age where people change channels and get bored very very quickly, meaning people expect change to happen over night. You don't think this was his plan in the long run? Then I don't think your thinking very politically. Also he's tryed to impliment many other bills the past year the congress has thwarted because they'd rather see a democrat fail then Americans succeed. Shut off the fox news and get your head out of the sand, do some of your own research and realize like many of the posters on this thread that your blindly following the Walrus and the Carpenter. Just as many republicans did during Bush's terms and where the trail of debt truely started.

Well i havent posted a comment or anything for months and this thread has pushed me to. I may be naive but how can you all give up so easily? you want obama and you think he will save you all? Anymore of him and our country will be in civil war and martial law. I only see ron paul as any hope for our country. I read your reasons but you cant say you are voting for your daughter if you want to see the debt that every person has to pay exceed the limits of imagination and then your daughter will not have any money in the future. I would say do a bit more research but i feel its getting more useless doing so. You have your own view as i have mine but i have something called common sense and concern. I just feel disappointed that im seeing all this fear and people giving up so easily. I do realize that the media and GOP have a lot of things wrong but ultimately the people have the power and thats what the founders wanted the people to always think since they set up the government to serve not take over as it has clearly done but people still complain while not doing anything about it. They hoped that when something like this happened the people would stand up and take their country back. For those that are voting for the lesser of 2 evils we finally in my view have someone who is not the lesser of 2 evils and that is ron paul. now i would like to challenge anyone to convince me that is evil or just as bad as the rest as some were saying. Im open minded enough that if you give good evidence i would be more than glad to see it your way. Now im done and please reply and tell me if im wrong here. nothing wrong with learning something new.

You must be looking at a different site. Because clearly the overall support here is for the GOP, but like most here you'd like to think you aren't the majority when you truely are. RP is part of the GOP by the way, regardless of some liberal views he may have.

People will translate information to fit into how they think. A geologist sees composition of rocks, a Paleontologist sees ancient life, an Archeologist sees ancient human life interactions. In reality a rock can be all of these things. A person who is a strong republican will associate what he sees or hears to fit into the beliefs he holds. The same holds true for Strong Democrats. It is hard to get people who believe in something to change their perception, but not impossible. We have been conditioned to see things in certain ways. This conditioning has been happening for thousands of years and we sometimes don't realize it. We have known these ways all our life. Just because we have been conditioned to think a certain way doesn't mean we should automatically assume that this is the only way. We are all capable of seeing the truth no matter how hard it may initially be. We are blinded by many things in life and this blinding is many generations old. Some people have the intellect to see this but don't have power to change it. I will not push my beliefs on others but will inform them that this economy is a created lie that has been stray6ing from reality for at least 40 years. To get votes the government decided to take up risky policies once again, thinking that we can control the people by deciet as has been done for thousands of years. It somewhat worked with the Indians, Take away and retrain their children to believe in what we believe in and reintroduce them back to their tribes. The Indian way was green and they respected the earth for providing them food and shelter. They kicked out the bad and disrespectful kids but it didn't work too well. They assembled into tribes of their own and sometimes attacked their original tribes. These powerful groups did fight those who tried to destroy the Indian nations sometimes though so I guess it was not all bad. I'm getting off topic again, but understanding what happens means you're mind has to associate all things at the same time. Having controlled ADHD is not bad. It gives you the ability to see things that are hidden from our sight. The new way is to train people to only see a little of the world, well I guess that's not new at all. Specialize in one thing and you become narrow minded and have nothing to compare against. There are many people who have open minds but they are lacking broadform knowledge. Instead of Facebooking all day long and chatting to unreal friends, everyone should start searching broadform. I think the show are you smarter than a fifth grader was created to keep us in line. I, and most others that are older, have a diverse knowledge about the world and all it's creatures that they do not teach in school. We do not quit learning just because we leave school. We keep learning till we die. We make mistakes and if we learn from them they become learning experiences. We cannot keep defending these mistakes and saying what we did is right when deep down we know we screwed up. We can't justify these mistakes by saying others are wrong and distorting our reality to fit these mistakes. It's time to take a look at things. Maybe a little late, like fifteen trillion dollars to late, but it can be fixed. We shouldn't have been stimulating a false economy. What's wrong with having people working factory jobs. Why do all jobs have to be service related and everyone sits around and gets lazy. Then buy a membership to a health club to get exercise. All jobs are just as important. A worker at McDonalds has just as important a job as a wall street exec. Actually we need workers to prepare and grow food more than these execs who seemingly profit excessively from mishandling our money. I cannot say all wall street execs are bad but I can say the perception of many has gone awry. I believe in taking risks when they are necessary but taking unnecessary risk is dumb. Study everything on you're own to see if you can find the truth. Don't jump at the first wrong you find, sometimes there may be something very right behind the wrong. We are all created equal but somehow a few people change that during our education process. You don't need a degree to be smart. You do need an open mind though.

In reference to your civil war post, You may want to realize that the GOP wants to cut a ton of spending under the poverty line and increase spending for the rich. The population of this country is under the poverty line or middle class meaning if you wanna fast track a civil war vote in the GOP it may even happen over night. Also many GOP supporters blindly follow these mad men that promise to make them "rich". Running on this principle is laughable, and if they do get in you'll see how bad things will REALLY get. Also all of you gun enthusiasts may want to remember that even though the GOP is for less gun restrictions, it's a cover to get to vote for them since by average your all Middle class or lower Americans and should NEVER vote for the GOP. Unless your annaul income is greater then 250k you should be voting anywhere but GOP.
