The tales of Satan's growth

Authors make Satan basically transfigure for a reason. What is that reason?

Satan went from snake (see Genesis) to dragon (see Revelation) to country (see the U.S.).

The U.S. is referred to as the great Satan. Why is that exactly? That's what I want to know. Is Satan really a country?

Satan is materialism and selfishness... And it is all over the world...

I think you are ignoring different literary devices used. His name is "Lucifer". Even "satan" is a title not a proper name. It basically means "adversary".
