Well this is a nice one.

Soon we will be able to drink large amounts of beer in our cars, sleep an extra 30 minutes on the way to work and risk crashing due to Occupy Car Movements over the internet.
How long time until we entirely lose the option of driving our cars...

News surfaced this week that Google has won a patent for driverless car technology. Google filed the patent in May this year. The application is titled “Transitioning a Mixed-mode Vehicle to Autonomous Mode.” The patent presents a method listing numerous “embodiments” suggested, for a vehicle that switches from being driven by a human to moving, stopping, and parking autonomously.

Google’s project leaders are convinced that smarter vehicles equipped with specially designed sensors, artificial intelligence, video cameras, and other sophisticated tools could help to make transportation safer.

Cool tech, possibly boring outcome in the long run.

Some year ago I saw a program about a BMW car as with some kind of driverless system.
The driver did a couple of laps around a raceway and after that, the car drove the s**t out of him.
It could have been English TopGear, but I am not sure.
I will try and find a vid about it.

Yes it was TopGear and Jeremy Clarkson

This is the most important car ever in the hall of automotive history. Probably....
Ha ha Clarkson is spot on.

I wonder if Google bought the idea from BMW.

For someone who drives that much it is absolutely perfect.
Though when it comes to the pure enjoyment of driving, I would not want to loose that.
