All of our heads are better than one. Everyone is unhappy. Unhappy with protests, unhappy that the non-protesters seem non-supportive, unhappy with corporate greed, unhappy with corrupt politics, unhappy with world hunger, unhappy with war, and the list goes on.

This thread demands some brains and thought. Please don't reply with complaints, attacks, arguments or with responses that have nothing to add. There are TONS of threads that already have this going on, so take it to one them - that is my humble plea. As this thread goes on, (hopefully it will catch on), I will skim through and compile all suggestions into a workable list.

What will this list do? Two things...one list will be about what others can do, (i.e., the corporations, politicians, etc.), and the second list will be about what YOU can do. Enough arguing already. Haven't we all had enough? It's not getting anywhere, and we're all basically sitting in the stands, (some on the sidelines, and some IN the game), hoping that someone ends the game soon and there's a winner. But I propose that we walk out of the stadium, check out of the game, and make all of us winners. I believe we can!

The bottom line is that we need corporations - they create jobs! But when they aren't balanced with the number of small businesses, then we get into the situation that we're in today...they get too big and too powerful. We want cheap, quality goods, but we complain that everything is being outsourced, and quality is being compromised. We can't have our cake and eat it too. Our consumption on EVERYTHING must be curbed, and we've got to be willing to buy American. As we do this, the corporations will naturally downsize, cut jobs, and re-align their businesses to meet the demands of their customers. However, as small businesses rise and American goods are purchased, more jobs will be created. Make your money talk for you, dang it!! Money talks....how many times do we have to be reminded of this? If you complain about corporate greed, then you must be willing to do without those things that those corporations make.

So, what is your task for this thread? List your biggest complaints, whether you are or are not a supporter of the protests...we all have them. THEN, understand your complaint, research where it comes from, HOW it became a problem, then propose a solution for both "them" and "us" that benefits both parties in a balanced way. If you are someone who understands the inner workings of business or even politics, then jump in and HELP. People need a working, itemized list that is easy to implement. Keep it as simple as possible. This thread, however, will NOT turn into an anti-government, anti-establishment, anti-American, or anti-anything thread. If you do not care to be positive and approach this from a collective standpoint in which we can all win, then please don't drag this down.

When we've arrived at addressing all the issues, then we can work to refine the solutions. (And I've got some SERIOUS ideas in mind that I think could quickly catch on in a big way.) You don't have to be American to participate. If you live in another country, the same issues apply to you in your region for the most part. We ALL can do this!

I have faith in all of us. We're in this together, like it or not, so let's find some real solutions by putting our heads together for once, and stop butting each other in the head. I know, I know - but arguing is so much more FUN, right? Fine, go to another thread if you REALLY need that drama fix, but I'm asking - pleading even - try this with me. Change starts with a single thought!

I propose a star trek society. Yes I know it's a fantasy and I'm aware of the issues surround such a system. Everyone on captain Janeways Starship gets pais the same amout. People move higher up the food chain because they want to exel and better themselves not because thay want more money and power. I know it's just a stupid TV program and we can't apply that here... Yet. Wouldn't that be a kewl society to live in???

More practicly speaking perhaps as a global community we would benifit from a change in our belief system. Currenly we seen to believe that sucess is measured in physical aqusitions. We could begin to belive that sucess is measureed in different ways and we could start to persue different goals in life... Like seeing that the basic needs of all humans on this planet are met... Or perhaps we need to revert to a more harmonious with nature life stye???

Gsev,

Great thread and nice try.

But people hate each other. People wage war all the time.

People are stupid and I wish I belonged to another species.

Good luck getting people together! People have never been together in the history of the world.

its simple really, stop trying to control everything.

thats it.

the star trek idea isn't bad either, shared resources and colonization of space to prevent lack of. works in theory. just need quantum food blenders.

1. Get in ethics.
2. Get in technology.
3. Get in administration.

This is the short version of one of the most workable plans to "fix this planet" that I have ever seen or been a part of.

Step ONE is key! We have to be able to tell when someone is being honest and when they are being deceptive. If you can't do that, you can't build anything that will last. To fail to recognize the importance of the first step, and to apply it whenever needed is to fail. The criminals of the world want us to fail and thus oppose this plan uniformly.

These three steps are meant to be done over and over again as the group using this system expands and wins more territory. Such a group is not meant to rule; it is only meant to guide. In this system, people are, first and foremost, expected to rule themselves.

How far a group gets with this plan depends mostly on:
1) Its effectiveness at accomplishing 1.
2) The workability of its technologies.
3) The wisdom of its administration.

There is no reason to think that we all can't live in peace and happiness. Those who say otherwise are exactly the core of the problem. There is no reason we need to be micromanaged by our governments, our communities, nor anyone else in "authority". We are responsible for our lives and how we live them. We need a vastly greater magnitude of self-determination and sovereignty. We do not need to be put under a microscope and kept their until our dying breath - after which we are still scrutinized since we probably weren't given permission to die.

Corporations aren't really necessary. They create jobs for whom? For those qualified to do work on their own too. Yes, manufacturing jobs are best done in factories, but those aren't corporations, necessarily. One thing is true: We need more small businesses world-wide. Exactly that should be the norm. We should be free to make our living as best we can. There is a market for just about everything but small business laws and taxation prevent a great deal of them from ever seeing the light of day. They remain just a distant dream for most. Over-regulation is killing us in every way, from education to work to health to all the rest. We cannot move anymore for fear of - and the reality of - the fact that we just broke a law somehow.

Which brings us to the laws. How can we be responsible for knowing and upholding every single law when you have to be a competent lawyer of every aspect of law to do so? That's simply impossible. Laws need to be written in clear language and in a very succinct and sensible manner. Anything else means we're going to be blinded eventually and it means we will break laws at every turn.

Our present system is untenable. It must be destroyed and rebuilt. Slow change will serve no one. A complete shutdown and reworking will hurt for a while and scare a lot of people. But just like being thrown into a pool or falling off a bike, sometimes your own survival kicks in and you show what you're really made of. We need to see that in ourselves. We owe it to this planet and our kind.

your all overcomplicating the problem, we can't change anything if people are controlling the world through these means, we need to end the control entirely, weather that means the equivilent of mad max happens for real or not.

you can't change anything if your not the one at the steering wheel, the car will go on its own course, run by whoever is at the seat.

Trust in the Lord, establish a personal relationship with Christ. Be washed in the Blood.
That will save you.
There is no salvation in the world, the world is the domain of Satan, who is called Prince of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Make illegal and abolish all forms of organized religion worldwide. Private practice only. Any reference in public or expression of a particular faith in public severely restricted.

Never happen, but when/if it does, then and only then could the world proceed with any kind of hope. All religion has shown us to this point is a bunch of dead, severely wounded, or severely raped. Yeah there are some good things about some religions, such as donations to charity, but in the end mankind has only proven over and over it cannot handle dissenting religious opinion, to the point of warring over it continuously.

Complicated issue... also you must think of it as a global problem.

The main issue, would be government accountability.

Second, establish clear financial regulations and restrictions, based on ethical conduct.

Third, developpe diverse energy sources on a global scale, eventually consisting of only non-polluting.

Fourth, create sustainable crop and farmland with motivating insentives.

Fifth, restrict all food production chemicals.

Sixth, reform the infrastructure to include non-polluting transportation, and eventually consist only of.

Seventh, issue a full transparency consensus for all governments on all levels.
Eighth, outlaw WMDs in all countries.

Ninth, invest in education of all people worldwide who seek to learn.

Tenth, form legislation that no one generation may enslave the next into debt for thier own benefit.

Some thoughtful replies so far....keep them coming!! I can't make a list if folks aren't willing to at least PRETEND this will work. I get that there are a lot people who think this would never work, and I do respect the idea of faith. However, faith without works is useless, regardless of WHAT kind of faith one has. Faith in God, faith in yourself, faith in science, faith in your fellow human beings...whatever suits you...just pick one. None of us will all fully agree with each other, so we must a figure a way to move forward with the freedom to learn and balance in our own time and speed. No one knows the "truth", or at least the FULL truth, so again, we need to respect that we all have different takes on "truth", based on our own experiences. Why do we keep allowing our differences to bring us to a screeching halt? The change starts individually, and it spreads from there. If you don't feel you can change the world, then you are wrong. It only takes one with the faith to move mountains, and those mountains will move. I have faith that good will preside over evil, and I have faith in my fellow human beings. I have faith that I can influence my world in a positive way. I have faith that I can plant seeds of ideas that will grow into magnificent splendors of glory. I don't need to explain where it comes from, or even defend that it's there. I just have it, and that's all that matters....and so it is.

I'm in Japan time, so if it seems like I'm inactive on this thread, I'm not...I'm just sleeping.
I won't attempt to create a list until there's been a significant response. But I do have some ideas to help get it going. I will post again when I find what I'm looking for.

even with my idea of control free utopia (probably wishful thinking) I can't disagree with that one. nuclear technologies should be fully disclosed to the public domain and release of radioactive materials into the atmosphere or directed against humans/animals should be made a warcrime holding the charge of exile from earth.

i'd like to see anyone break that rule.

I really like the PMA of your post (positive mental attitude) and a willingness to look for new solutions (and not the old paradigms of communism, socialism, or corporatism). This is definitely more forward thinking and Aquarian. The New Age of Aquarius is beginning to set in, though it takes time, and the new vibrations of Aquarius are around us. Aquarius is both Independent individuality and the love of community and humanitarianism all wrapped up neatly in technological advancement and higher vibrations It's time to take care of the community without sacrificing freedom and individuality.

Sadly, the perversions of Aquarius are collectivism and anarchy.

Religious worship and community often go together. What happened to the individual liberty to make those decisions for oneself? I personally like both quiet meditation and the environment of a beautiful reverent church. Without cohesion, people get confused. With indoctrination, people lose the deeper understanding of spirit.
Of course I have four planets in Libra and see both sides of the issue. Balance is imperative. What I am really concerned about is the coming UN One World Religion, which will be both all inclusive and yet homogenous, losing the beauty of individual religions, and most likely a sort of Totalitarian type religion.

Absolutely!! Let's hear some specifics on this.

Second, establish clear financial regulations and restrictions, based on ethical conduct.

Good....such as? Personally, I'd like to see a complete revamp of how our elected officials are able to raise money. How about NO fund-raisers at all? What if there was a designated "election" channel on tv, and websites that uploaded produced videos directly from the candidates themselves? What if candidates met their constituents through Skype to save money? In all the years I've been a voting American, I've never once seen a candidate in person, nor have I ever heard of where they were going to be before hand. Not sure I'd ever go, anyway, but that's beside the point. Most Americans will gather the majority of their information on a candidate by what they see on the TV from major news networks. If there was a network, NOT owned by any of the big ones, then I could see how this would be informative. I also don't like our current voting system, and I think the popular vote needs to be taken into account.

Third, developpe diverse energy sources on a global scale, eventually consisting of only non-polluting.

Right on!! This needs to be a united world effort! Instead of railroading the oil companies, give them incentives to switch gears into something else. No country should be left behind in this. If there are undeveloped countries, then they need to put forward individuals that can be educated in these fields.

Fourth, create sustainable crop and farmland with motivating insentives.

I agree with the "every yard with a garden" concept. There's no reason not to!! Even if each person only grew the one vegetable or fruit they eat the most, imagine the impact that would have world wide. Not only that, but public schools should require agriculture/sustainable living classes for every grade level...no exceptions. If we plan on making lasting changes, then it starts in the schools with the children.

Fifth, restrict all food production chemicals.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that a one-world view on these items would be beneficial. If one country has banned something, then all countries should follow suit. This is where the FDA and chemical companies need to get out of bed with politicians, so we CAN implement this sort of thing.

Sixth, reform the infrastructure to include non-polluting transportation, and eventually consist only of.

Here, here!! I don't know why electric vehicles aren't in mass production at affordable costs. We don't need huge cars anymore. We just don't. Some people may still WANT their big cars, but their just not practical any more, and when it comes to saving the world's resources and keeping her clean, then change trumps personal driving preferences. If people care more about the car they drive than the environment and their economy, then something is wrong.

Seventh, issue a full transparency consensus for all governments on all levels.

I agree....but how? Now we're getting into gray areas, which we can't prove or disprove. Is there a shadow government? What if our government IS transparent, but the secrets are held by those outside of our government? Just a thought. How would we get around this?? One answer...money. Who funds them, and where do they get the money? Once we discover that, then we can go from there.

Eighth, outlaw WMDs in all countries.

But, but, but....what about the threat of an alien invasion?
I agree, by the way...providing there are no nasty aliens out there, waiting to pounce.

Ninth, invest in education of all people worldwide who seek to learn.

I'll further this by stating that ALL higher education should be free and available online...period. This is something I think our government should fund. If you want an intelligent nation making wise choices, then educate them.

Tenth, form legislation that no one generation may enslave the next into debt for thier own benefit.

I kind of like the idea of a seven year rotation...the slate is wiped clean every seven years. However, to ensure this isn't abused, credit card systems need to be abolished, and banks need to reformulate the way in which they give loans. If the loan cannot be paid of in seven years, then it shouldn't be given. A flat interest rate of 1% should be max on everything, and that's only to help cover administration costs. We don't need fancy buildings and a million locations. I'll go out on a limb again and say that currently, I don't see a problem with a one-world currency system, but only as long as it's governed BY THE PEOPLE, and not a handful of banksters.
