I want to write a story but I feel like I will have a hard time with no cuss words.
But after thinking a couple of days about a story I feel a urge to write it. Could probably be something I might write as a book later on. So I'm starting the coffee-brewer now.

EDIT: Done.

Welcome everyone to another great writing contest .

I have submitted my piece and now I will start reading everyone else’s.
I didn’t want to read them before I had finished, as I didn’t want to be influenced in any way,
Can’t wait to get stuck into the works.

Love and harmony

Some really interesting entries already and the contest isn't even half over.

I'll keep bumping all your submissions on a daily basis so that everyone will get their stories read and flagged.

To all those who read, I hope you'll take the time to add a flag to your favs.

I’m getting a bit mixed up on which entries I have read and ones I have not. If you find that I have not commented in your thread please message me and I will gladly contribute to it.

Sorry for being such a ditzzy brain.

The best way to keep apprised of all the submitted stories is on the Short Stories Forum Page where you'll find all the contest entries are at the top of the page.

But you might have known that already.

Being a lycanthrope can be enjoyable... all that loping through the bush, snarling, fangs and jaw dripping with the blood of countless victims.

But (there's always a but) It's brutal on razor blades.

Me? I'd prefer to be a therianthrope of a different type. Ever seen the Sorcerer looking back at you?

Did you paint this ?

Goes well with Halloween...it is both beautiful and well...disturbing...but awesome just the same.

And to answer your question, no. I haven't.

Yes. I did that painting back in '06. The Sorcerer is on the Lascuax cave wall in France. I coupled it with three San shaman, transformed into insect-men and attempting to rise to the same level as the Sorcerer himself. In his case, this highly advanced therianthrope has the legs of a man, the body of a horse, the forearms of a bear and the head of an auroch (an extinct species like an elk).

The 'ropes' are another example of the cord which connects the body of the individual to their OBE spirit.

It should be disturbing. There is no hell like having your cord cut and becoming trapped in another dimension. Not a nice eternity.

Either have I.

automatically that rules out using certain personality types for use with characters who would swear constantly as part of what defines them so I can easily see how not swearing could proove challenging and commend you for your efforts...

That was exactly what i was thinking about. I wanted to get an average Joe in a end of the world scenario. But i would think that he would be swearing allot during that scenario. So i had to give my character some heart and humor.

Thanks for feedback.

my favourite thing about that painting is the ineffable figures that aren't immediately apparent in that painting...the ones that make up that dark & red environment the more prominent figures are living within...

very nice

It is evidence that you, as well as myself, are entranced by the potential of pareidolia. I enjoy looking for the unintended for it says much about the ability of my left brain to come to terms with what my right brain might comprehend.

Pareidolia is a glimpse into the unconscious in the same way that dreams are.

I am also fascinated how preconcieved notions completely alter our experience of things and how something apparently quite innocent can later scare the crep out you.....and then jsut as easily become something innocent again....like box cutters...
