Drugs regulators have launched an investigation after packs of the painkiller Nurofen Plus were found to contain antipsychotic drugs.
It is unclear how the mix-up could have happened, especially as Seroquel XL is manufactured by AstraZeneca, while Nurofen is made by Reckitt Benckiser. Neither company is ruling out the possibility of sabotage, media reports said.
The "contamination" has also been found in Northern Ireland, so it's not just limited to South London as initially reported. Ireland also has a recall in effect now.
The blister packs inside the outer packaging look considerably different to Neurofen and so these are quite easy to spot. It would seem far too blatant for it to be a conspiracy of manufacturers.
