The guy was slow witted, possibly a poor choice to be a gun owner /collector.
i think...
Sure a cc or two in the group would have possibly been aq blessing...but....
Dont you people realise that this # is getting out of hand?
There is a problem and it isnt with gun ownership.
The problem is that too many people are going gaga and blowing as many as they can to hell before usually getting the same from the cops.
(I think this could be a deterrent for some, if the automatic reaction of the police is to annihalate the perp wherever and whenever found.)but the crazzy ones wouldnt care....so back to square one....
The trick is to get the handle on whats turning ordinary people into mass murdrers and doing so with increasing regularity....
This is the real crux of the matter.....

Jeg er fortsatt i sjokk. Kom nettopp hjem. Men vet du hva? Jeg vil heller drukne enn å bli skutt. Sorry. Vi vil gjøre verden til et bedre sted – I missed the part where WE became the bad guys.
Norwegian to English translation
I'm still in shock. Just came home. We were driven by Prableen his father from Sundvollen hotel.

I'm actually still in shock. I can not squeeze out one tear. I can not believe it: The day I actually to be killed. Hunted and killed.

What can I say? The last normal idea I had in my head was about a student organization in the AUF. I had just been on the political workshop (for that is what we are doing on Utøya) - and was on his way up to the AUF-shop where I had actually watch.

A good friend came over and informed me about the explosion that had taken place in Oslo. Sick! Ministries and Youngstorget?! Of course there were many who were worried. The mood was mildly, not good, many thought this was vermin worst moments this year, but it happened more. I had a lump in the throat. The largest ever.

We were first called to infomøte by management so that everyone received the same (and correct) information. This meeting was useful and worked well. Most got their family members in Oslo and had checked that everyone was alive.

I could not get hold of someone in the family for very long! When I finally got confirmation that three of them were not in Oslo, and one was at work far away from the center - then I could breathe. Really. I went back to the AUF-shop.

General Secretary Helen Brenna came over and talked to me. Wondered if I needed someone to talk to. Then we heard shots down the ground. Who the hell is it that kødder Now then, we thought? Who thought that there actually was not dork.

Suddenly I see all watch guys run up and asked us to "hide", running into the main building, "etc. I ran into the toilet next to the AUF-shop. The shots came closer. I was very sure that this was a "joke", but one can never be sure of anything, it's your day today proved. The second in the toilet was all to hell. Slowly but surely I managed to put the phone on silent and put it in the behåen so I would not lose it. I took the bag off and put on the floor. When I finally heard the voices of some acquaintances, I came out.

But it was not over. We had to run behind NATO's room (as it's called) and down on the corner, then to the right of the pier. We fell and stumbled through a lot of bushes and large rocks. I received many wounds. There we some 15-20 people, maybe? I was stressed out. Matti held me and reassured me.

We ran and ran. The worst was when we found out: he that shot, he was disguised as a policeman. Damn.

Who should we trust then? If we call the police - it's the guy who comes and checks or money?

But we tried to call the police! They used the damn time. So I gave my phone to Munir and asked him to update the facebook for anyone with a boat in the fjord must help us.

We ran back and forth when the shoots approached. Matti said we had to swim. But how should I handle it, never worn these boots far?

Trond Agnar suddenly appeared. He said many had tried to swim, but had swum back because it was too cold, too long, and difficult simply. But you know what? I'd rather drown than to be shot. Sorry. I took off my shirt, and with encouragement from Matti, I started to swim. It was heavy, so I had to take off my pants, too. Driitkaldt.

I swam. Matti saved me. He said the right thing and he did the right thing. He got me to swim - so far. When we had swum a piece Matti said: "Kamzy, now you do not look back. You should look straight ahead in the country side and think that it is your goal. "

"Ok" - I said. We heard shots all the time, and I'm still surprised that I or Matti was not hit.

(But, I learned later that he was there. It was therefore Matti told me to look straight ahead. He was just at the place we had just buried us. My God! And he had tried to shoot at us. We were chased)

But I swam. So there were some boats that should save us. The one boat threw lifesaving vests and had to drive on. Then came the next boat to fetch us. Even when we had reached the boat, so I could not relax. It just was not "yes, we are saved" - spirit. He can still hit us with his machine gun! I put my umiddebart on the floor of the boat. I did not feel safe. Not at all.

Some of the local residents helped us when we arrived. They gave us towels and drove us to the Esso station where police and ambulance staff waited. I was in shock. Did not pushed for a single tear. Has it not occurred to me?

Suganthan came up to me with my cell phone and was upset that it does not worked anymore. Dear Suganthan, I'm just glad you're alive!

Anniken Huitfeldt called and talked to me. I do not know whose phone it was, it was a girl who came over and said Anniken wanted to talk. AND I asked her: "Why the hell police used so long?" She agreed with it. And tried to reassure me, and asked what happened.

It was a kjempeghyggelig girl who worked there who got us clothes and hot drinks. I also called my dad. Is glad that he handles like a little more at ease - even if he was worried sick.

Also we should continue. Everyone should be on Sundvollen hotel. There, we had to register us and unite us.

We were one of the first people arrived. And so therefore, one after the other come ... hylskrikende into. I understand them very well. I just did not understand, and still do not understand why I did not get a single tear. I want out of this state of shock I'm still in. I want out of here. I sat in with Prableen and came home to my dad who was waiting for me.

For I am still in shock. Who does something like that? Pushing key buildings in Oslo and kills future Labour politicians who are on a summer camp on Utøya. What wrong have we done?!

Those who resort to violence, has run out of arguments. How could he do what he did to my AUF friends? This seems so surreal. I do not understand. I do not understand.

Recommend everyone to look at Jens Stoltenberg and Knut Storbergets press conference:

www.vgtv.no... #! id = 42403

"No one should be bombing us into silence. No one will shoot us into silence "- this says Jens Stoltenberg, and I am very agree with him.

But first my mind goes out to all family members. Now is the time to fit properly on one another. Contribute and lifting each other up. Comfort each other. AND show the hottest part we humans have.

But I'm still in shock. And that is why I write this note. I can not bear to tell the story over and over again. It was in brief what happened. With me. But the fear was there all the time ... Do NOK not think I can put it into words. We also continuously hear who was shot, etc. - that I have omitted to write about. It is degrading above the relatives. They deserve better.

We deserve not to die. And it's also why I write this note. We are just normal teenagers. We are engaged in politics. We will make the world a better place - I missed the part where we becam the bad guys.

Thinking of each and every one of you who were on Utøya today

I really hope everyone is doing. You deserve better.

It was important for me to get this out. It is important.

translated into english....wow

Dear TheUniverse

In the UK at a place called Dunblane there was a massacre of real young kids in 1996 that led to a total hand gun ban latter.

The guns used where all legally owned by this guy. There is a link to the story.

century.guardian.co.uk...

So I ask again who decides who can handle a gun?????????????

Anyway my point is who’s opinion would you like too accept on who should have a gun.

Idk but i think a gun should be readily available for people to defend themselves from psychopaths like what happened on Friday!

And if guns were readily available we would have had more such psychopaths with guns.
Just look at the gun killing death stats in Norway and you will discover that the gun restriction actually worked here.
It wont work in USA of course since there are already plenty of guns around, so a ban would only lead to a black market. Most murders here are stabbed to death with a knife or similar and that is nowhere near as lethal or accurate as a gun.
If everyone could wear arms then the yearly average death toll would have been higher even if this incident was stopped.
You just cannot compare Norway with for example USA. We have never had any school shootings or anything, never any massacre in any public places. This is the worst thing that has happened on norwegian soil since the second world war.

And like I said earlier not even police here are allowed to wear arms unless there is a special situation where such are needed, which is luckily extremely rare even today and I really hope this wont change this too much.

OSLO (BNO NEWS) -- Police in Norway on Saturday confirmed that at least 80 people were killed on Friday when a gunman opened fire at a youth camp near Oslo, hours after a huge explosion shook the capital.

Police said a gunman dressed as a police officer had taken a boat to Utoya island where a youth camp was being held by the Labour Party. As many as 700 young people between the ages of 14 and 25 were at the island when the gunman opened fire with an automatic weapon, killing at least 80.

Hours earlier, a huge explosion near government buildings devastated Oslo city center, killing at least 7 people and injuring more than a dozen others.

No one has all the details yet, but I don't think this is an Islamic terrorist thing.
Norway has it's own...well they are actually found in all of Scandinavia....white supremist and Neo Nazi skinhead groups that preach a far right and white surpremist rhetoric.

They believe that thousands of years ago the "White Race" was the supreme race and the rightful rulers over all others. Due to a series of betrayals, they lost their rightful position as world rulers. They preach the supiority of the "White Race" (especially the Nordic "race") and feel the Nazis in Gemany were betrayed by the English and the Americans during WW2.

They also tell a fantastical story about how the old Nordic Gods were once the rightful rulers of the earth but have been "betrayed" by others and have had their power stolen by others...including "degenerate" Christian and of course Jewish followers.

These guys are truly delusional, often metally unbalanced, mostly poor or unemployed, and deeply dispise what they call the "degenerate Socialist governments" of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland today.

As of yet it's too early to tell, but I am personally guessing whoever did this has a connection to those groups.

We shall just have to see what it is when more details are revealed.

The 32-year-old Norwegian man arrested for gunning down children on the holiday island of Utoya has been named locally as Anders Behring Breivik.

Described as 6ft tall and blond, he is reported to have arrived on the island of Utoya and opened fire after beckoning several young people over in his native Norwegian tongue.

Reports suggest he was also seen loitering around the site of the bomb blast in Oslo two hours before the island incident.

More than 80 are believed to have been killed - in Oslo and on Utoya Island, 50 miles north of the capital, it was claimed.

Norwegian police said at least 80 were killed at Utoya alone and described the killings as of 'catastrophic dimensions'.

Police have said the attacks do not appear to be linked to Islamist terrorism but they are linking the two incidents.

Initially, however, it was not known what the motives were - whether the gunman had been radicalised and was part of a militant Muslim group waging Jihad or was alternatively trying to further a home-grown political cause.

The Oslo bomb blast was outside a government office, while the island of Utoya is reportedly owned by the Norwegian Labour Party.

Teenagers on the Norwegian holiday island of Utoya had to 'swim for their lives' and hide in trees when the gunman fired indiscriminately at them.

Around 700 had gathered on the island for a meeting of the youth wing of the ruling Labour party.

Witnesses said the man in police uniform who opened fire beckoned several young people over before shooting at them. He told them to 'come here'.

Suspect: Norwegian media reported that Anders Behring Breivik has been arrested

Massacre: People are seen on the banks of Utoya after the shooting - the Daily Mail has pixelated this image to avoid causing distress

It came as Norway succumbed to a double attack in what is being described as the worst atrocity it has faced since the Second World War.

Dear Jeanius

First of all I do not believe it is off topic in any way.

These things happen because guns are available to the perpetrator.

No guns no massacre.

Second I am not necessarily anti gun. However I have deep reservations about who should be allowed to have one.

Yes, of course in this situation it would be good if someone else had a gun, but I am talking more about the bigger picture. If we had little to no gun restriction like in USA we would have probably had more such gun shooting which means that the death toll over for example last 10 years would have been higher.
It is because of our long restrictive gun laws that we havent had any such incidents before now. It is hard even from criminals to get guns here since they have more or less always been banned.

But like I said the situation in USA is entirely different and I would be against a gun restriction if I lived there.
It is just two entirely different countries that just cannot be compared when it comes to gun laws.

Mainly because there was a concentration of people in an area it was essentially impossible to escape from.

Had the bomb gone off during the morning when people were coming to work the death toll would have been in the hundreds. Explosives are also a much more efficient way to kill and are a massive force multiplier in warfare- it's why there are bombs on aircraft, artillery pieces, tanks and missiles. One well placed tactical nuke or FAE will outdo an individual with a firearm on a grand scale.

Sick bastards are going to kill people with guns. They will also do so with explosives, vehicles, knives, bats, pipes, broken bottles, chainsaws, hammers, screwdrivers, ropes, pointed sticks, bare hands... all a firearm does is give standoff distance and that comes with a trade-off as a firearm requires extensive practice for it to be used effectively beyond 6m or so.

Entire cities were wiped from the face of the earth prior to the invention of firearms and will be wiped from the face of the earth after the next generation of weapons comes out. The firearm is a tool, and in and of itself is not the cause of death- the cause of death is a twisted human being.

How horrible! It's so sad that this type of stuff is still happening all over the world. Maybe not in this exact way, but lives are being lost continually, many lives, even as I type this, innocent lives.

I can't imagine what the families are going through, as a mother I cannot imagine if I lost my son that way.

I feel lucky every day I am a live, every breath is a blessing, and every moment I share with my family is a gift.

May these souls rest in peace.

"It's a reminder that the entire international community has a stake in preventing this kind of terror from occurring," President Barack Obama said.

I'm wondering if we are going to a see a more concerted effort all over the place, tighter security, etc, after this. As you can see the man is tall, blonde, and blue eyes, now ANYBODY can be a suspect. I see much tighter security, and more thorough screening in areas of security of white people in the future. Just a thought...

Dear SFA437

Yes that is kinda the point a gun like a bomb gives stand off distance.

And that why I would like to see them in only the right hands.

Just too easy to kill with either you do not have to get splattered with the out come.

My point is I would like to make it as hard as possible for people like this to kill the innocent.

I understand the excitement of shooting a gun, one of my fantasies would be to open up on the bar like in the movies. I have shot guns but I never want to own one frankly I do not trust myself and like wise I trust many others much less. I would also include most of the policemen that I have met in that statement.

You have to admit that getting hold of a gun to do such an evil act makes it way to easy. Load it and you are away.

Making a bomb is far more difficult first needing the knowledge, the materials and then placing the thing. Not to mention the firing mechanism. Now don’t get me wrong I know he did it but it was way harder than the gun.

The point being, get rid on most of the guns and you will have way less at least gun deaths, we will have to go back to the messy ways.

Doesn't anyone else find it funny that after shootings like this, tighter gun control measures are brought in? Bare in mind a lot of people in Norway keeps a gun.
The Zionists have bombed a completely new country (especially a peaceful one) because they want to accelerate events in this so called war on terror...
