From now until Aug. 7, you can swim with sharks from your desk, thanks to a live webcam embedded in the world’s largest shark tank.

The exhibit, which was designed to house whale sharks, holds 6.3 million gallons of seawater, enough to fill nine and a half Olympic swimming pools. It is home to seven different types of sharks, including enormous whale sharks, vicious-looking sand tiger sharks, and bottom-dwelling masters of disguise called spotted wobbegongs. It also holds several other species of fish and four manta rays, the only manta rays ever to live in a U.S. aquarium.

Awesome find. I've been sitting there for 10 minutes just looking at it. When the sharks come close it's really crazy.

If you look carefully on the bottom or if you try to see far enough you can see them sometimes. Or they just get right in front of the camera!

edit: and now if you were watching you can't tell me that you didn't see the whale shark??

Thanks for posting this. The Georgia Aquarium is one of my favorite places. I tell anyone visiting Atlanta that they must go there. The tank is unbelievable in person. The viewing glass is so massive that you really get a sense of being underwater with them. I sat in front of the glass so close that my knees were touching it. I didn't move for at least an hour. I can't describe the sense of peace and amazement watching the whale sharks and manta rays glide overhead. I wish they kept this up all year. Just one more reason to love Shark Week.

That's what I was thinking when I saw the cam - as nice as this is - how amazing would it be to see the real thing! From what you describe - very amazing. Glad to hear your experience.

The one thing I have really missed about moving from Fla., was all snorkeling I used to do. This brings back so many great memories. My day is complete now between this and the thread about saving the whale! Thanks OP, Great find.
