But since you asked, here is a true-color picture from orbit centered on the North pole.

ps here is a pic of the north pole - with lines of longitude photoshoped onto it

please compare it to this which is the arctic ice sheet in an unamed location

ice is ice

Lol that's what I'm looking at post a link to one... All I'm seeing is maps and what not.

OK so you made me do a little work, but I have found a picture of each:

South Pole:

North Pole:

You'll still play along? Maybe you should hit "images" and take a look yourself. There are no real image of the N/S poles in your linked search. Unless you consider drawings, artists renderings, Google Earth or NASA World Wind to be real pictures.

I don't think there are any holes or gateways at the poles but at least look at what you are linking as research before you post it.

as people in this thread have previously said, there are loads of pics of the north and south poles as many people have been to each.
as for satelite photos, as far as i know its much harder to get satellites to follow a polar orbit than around the equator.

You must see the irony in this? Not sure what happened but all I'm seeing is white squares.

Now that is what I would expect a satellite image of the pole to look like.

Bingo

I'm 99% sure that's exactly what the intent was.

I posted some very clear pictures of the poles from orbit in my previous posts...the point being there really isn't much to see from that sort of view.

You know, you just made my day. You sure helped to ease the tension after I read about Glen Beck getting attacked by a plastic cup of wine thread. Bless your heart.

Well this thread wasn't so much about the pictures it was more about the antigravity effect but it would seem that is proven wrong by the first picture in the thread you posted so thanks.

Damn for that kind of research work you must have a Nobel prize.. I used to think your post were credible but thanks for proving me wrong it good to know who I can and who I cannot trust.

And here is why very few images of the North Pole exist:

What is the reason satellites do not or can not pass over the poles? Is it something to do with orbital mechanics?

To launch into a polar orbit, they need to be aimed somewhat into (ETA: by "into", I mean "against"...as opposed to "with") the rotation of the Earth, which requires more fuel. Also, there is nothing to photograph at the North Pole, so such an orbit would be a waste of that fuel, and, consequentially, a waste of money.

Just saw the thread about the quasar and it put a strange idea in my head.

What if at the poles there is an antigravity effect? Diagrams of earths gravitational field seem to suggest this.
Why would you start a thread on this and not show the diagrams you are talking about with sources?

I've never seen any accurate diagrams of the Earth's gravitational field suggesting there's antigravity at the poles. Do you want to share with us what you're talking about? Where are the diagrams and what are the sources?

Is it me or shouldn't the North Pole be a solid Mass??? Take a look at this.

It's you. What makes you think there should be land there? Antarctica is a continent but it's at the south pole, not the north pole.

In fact, the gravitational maps of the Earth show nothing of the sort:
