One day the kiddies will realize tough talk on the internet is silly and the erosion of our liberties and constitutional rights is happening NOW.

If we are kiddies you must be a fetus because if you aren't even willing to fight against what you consider unreasonable then surely you shouldn't undermine the others who are willing to do that sacrifice.

And by the way, that guy that refused to fly and pay the fine guess what? He still hasn't paid. Hmmm... There must be something fishy about that man in a sportcoat mustn't it...

You make a LOT of assumptions for someone who has no clue what I do or do not do.
Good GOD.. you and the sport coat guy! If youd have gotten off of your high horse, youd have seen I was giving you the federal law, cases that set certain bars that you have to fight and how to do it. Grow the hell up. I really dont want to discuss anything more with you, its like talking to one of my younger kids: "you must be a fetus"... FFS...

Have a pleasant evening.

I just had my first trip to the US and it was nice actually. No trouble with patdowns and stuff, except while I was still in Holland

I heard that in order to fill the jobs for TSA officer, they had to recruit a lot of new people from other security positions. Maybe some of them had less experience handling unarmed civilians.
I can understand that it can feel a little humiliating when they're a little harsh on you, but I think you should talk to the individuals doing that, or maybe file a compliant, instead of writing off the whole thing. It is for your own protection after all.

By the way I seem to be very sensitive to the scanner as I can actually feel it scanning me. Anyone else has this?

I don't need to fight certain anything. Like I said. They are letters and numbers on a paper. They might as well not have written them down at all and enforce it anyway. At the end of the day we need to fight whatever we decide should go.

I might be on my high horse, but you are just plain arrogant undermining others with a sense of superiority.
"the kiddies..." pffft... meh...

Really...you thought you would go through the airport with no security check or that no one check your bags?? That isn't reality. We all know and should be prepared to go thru security at an airport. And please, do not liken a pat-down to rape or being sexually assaulted. I have gone thru airport security with hundreds of other people and I dont recall ANYONE crying about it. Geeez....

Ok. Honestly not a troll here...

But seriously - most of you all are too damned melodramatic! Just let them search you, and if they have to, let them do it again!

WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL???? Seriously... Just let them do their damned job. These threads are ridiculous. I understand that it may be a little embarrassing, but it's not like people are getting strip-searched in public.

I don't like the idea of any of this either. But is kicking and screaming really going to make it better?

Damn... Just get over it. I would have forgotten about this crap the hour after it happened! Why are people taking this to a whole new level?

OP, my heart goes out to you, it really does. We should be able to fly in this country without all of this nonsense. Unfortunately, the only way we as a country will bring an end to this is to stop flying all together. The airlines would suffer greatly. I know that there are people who believe that the govt would step in and help the airlines, and while that may be possible too, still, don't fly until they change these insane laws, and allow people to fly again with dignity. We are living in a very sick society right now. I absolutely will not be flying until it comes to an end, and I will never allow my daughter to be touched like that by strangers.

You don't want to care fine, step aside and let us who love our freedoms handle it. Close your eyes, hook in the ipod, and just sleeeeeeep.

A friend of mine told me a while back that while being scanned, she felt her heart palpitate and felt nauseated afterward. So I would guess that yes, some people might be sensitive to it.

christine76 -- you are as responsible as the criminal TSA agents. You chose to fly knowing by doing so you were validating their illegal search practices. You talk about children being conditioned to accept it. They just watched their mother submit to it. Again, you are responsible for that.

I will never get on a plane as long as these criminals are in control.
If they extend these evil practices to shopping malls and the like, I will be out there protesting loudly, day in and day out.
If they extend these evil practices to roads and try to stop my car, I will not submit. They can arrest me or do anything they want, I will never submit. I will never give them the validation.

If every American stood up like that, refusing to fly and refusing to submit, THIS WOULD END TODAY.

Are we massively wussified in the U.S.A now, or what?

It's a pat down. Why would someone even be humiliated? They are not assaulting you, they are doing their jobs, trying to keep YOU safe. Fun? No. But hardly a big deal imo. If the possibility of being patted down upsets you THAT dramatically, perhaps air travel isn't for you. Take a train next time - kids love train rides anyways.

I keep seeing people absolutely freak out over pat downs. Get what - fast forward 30 years, you will have NO privacy in places like airports. NONE. Security is already pathetically lax in the U.S.

I do feel bad for folks who freak out.. but I think people just need a new mindset. If you know you have metal bits in your leg, you should already be aware this will happen, probably every time. Just take the private room next time.

TSA’s other body-scanner contractor is Rapiscan Systems Inc. In 2009, the company was awarded an agreement that could be worth up to $173 million. And like L-3, Rapiscan has a notable K Street presence.

I actually read that as

OMG...Are you kidding me right now? I flew home on sept 10th 2001 from LA to Chicago...and flew less than three months post 911...day and night lady. As far as your "pins" in your ankle and such...if you have been on a plane in the last decade you would know that you need a doctors note for such a condition. I really dont feel you were violated in any manor....you may want to take some xanax next time you travel...So put your big girl pants on and get over it

I thought we needed a revolution, but I guess we're too wussified to carry out a revolution. You're right, I just needed a little reprogramming. All better now. Where did I put that remote?

OMG You got patted down at an airport. THE HORROR!!!!!!!!!! THE HORRRRORRRR

I can't imagine what you would do if something REALLY terrible happened.

Stop being so melodramatic and get on with your life. It's no wonder America has become the laughing stock all over the world. You people really need to get a grip on things.

This issue has come up many times already.

If you want to fly, then accept the screenings.

If you don't want to accept the screenings, then take the bus.

THAT BEING SAID: no one likes being screened. But, can you even possibly imagine what would happen if a TSA agent did NOT do his/her job and let a BOMB get through?!!!!??!!!! Many people (hundreds!) could die on that flight, let alone any collateral damage caused by that crashing plane. What would happen then? Can you imagine the public outcry that TSA did NOT DO ENOUGH to protect citizens!!??

It's NOT the same world prior to 9-11. It is simply NOT THAT WORLD.

Things have changed, and there are a myriad of NEW CONSIDERATIONS to account for and prevent. Sorry for that revelation, but that is the case. If you want to fly then you must accept the reality. If not, then take the bus or rent a car.

I will look like a heartless idiot for asking this but I have to: Why is getting patted down such a big deal? It isn't a 'sexual' act like some like to make it seem or? I understand it's a invasion of privacy but that pretty much is an issue for the courts or the politicians. As a individual you can take the car or get a private plane, otherwise you pretty much have to play by the rules..
