Great points! Of course it is not racist to critique the president, unfortunately many Liberals and Black people use that as a crutch far too often. Thanks for your contribution.

Well, it may have been one of the threads that "broke the camels back", lol, but it goes deeper than that. I appreciate what you said.

I do hope more people who have certain racist or controversial viewpoints join this discussion and honestly say how they feel, this thread was not intended for the "equality and love for all" crowd so much.

So the motive was more to add weight to your own belief that racism is rampant on ATS?

Starting out with an assumption and then trying to verify it is horrible methodology. No wonder you had such praise for the one person who claims to be racist.

No no no, you should not have to stay here all night defending yourself. In fact, I agree with most of what you said. With all my years living in ghettos and hoods around America I have noticed Black and Hispanic culture to be far more openly racist than their White counterparts (except for certain places down south). But I have also noticed that 'White' America has a switched from being openly racist to becoming 'closeted' racists, speaking in such manners only in the comfort of their friends and family who may feel a similar way. Both forms of ignorance are equally despicable, but imo one is more honest and sincere than another. Thanks for your post my friend.

Ever thought that you was just seeing racism where there wasn't any?

Don't get me wrong, I have argued my points in another Thread for about 28 pages or so about Indians and the fact that they seem to me to want and get way more than your average "white man". And yes, I still call them Indians. There are too many sub groups of the people to call them First Nations and they definitly aren't Native Americans as they too immigrated here. Just way before us "white men" plus it wasn't called America back then.

I live in an area where I work and see the population of these "opressed" people. I see them hold eachother back. I see them not only lose themselves but their own culture. I do this as well. I don't know my ancestors ways nor do I want to. This is my choice and I do not complain about Hitler displacing my Grandparents and them losing everything. I move on. I work. I care about my family. This is something I do not see them do as much. Just my opinion.

Honesty is a virtue my friend.

And please do not jump to conclusions upon why I made this thread, I have already stated why.

Peace illusion.

i feel the racism card if always played if you disagree with people, complain about somebodys actions or conduct or anything related to people who are not white skinned.

it's not everybody who does it, but certain groups do and certain people are brainwashed to associate certain types of critism and turn into a race issue inorder to shut down debate or shut people up.

immigration is people, not a race, they are people from all different religions, colours and backgrounds, some skilled, some unskilled. if you complain about immigration problems people have been trained to relate it to rasicm.
a immigrant could be a white american or a black african or asian, dos'nt matter immigration is the problem, not the race.

another one is if you complain about the job somebody is doing, if they happen to be brown you are racist for complaining. there are tons of examples.

racism is when you discriminate or target somebody soley based on skin colour. which is something i would never do and hate, that is what needs stamping out.

Yes. You may or may not be correct. I guess I will find out.

Wow, great honesty my friend. But do you ever wonder why they may be "oppressing" their own kind in that manner? Could they have learned it or picked it up from somewhere else? Maybe the answer to those questions will allow you to see beyond any judgmental tendencies, that you rightfully may have, and allow more compassion and peace within your heart for all of life. Thanks again.

I believe they have learned it from their parents as well as the attitude they see when they watch how people treat their parents. I have talked to an Indian Chief here in Saskatchewan and that is what he was most dissappointed in, the treatment of his people by his own people. Sure they have great respect for their elders, (maybe not the newer generation) but, you see rampant child abuse on the reserves as well as off.

I come by my opinions honestly. My parents take in foster children. There have been 2 "white" children in the house. By comparison, I would estimate 25-30 Indian children. What really frustrates me is that these little victims are learning by watching their parents. I am not saying that Indian's are worse than white people, but, the amount of children in foster care should be getting close to epidemic levels in the Indian population!

It doesn't really matter to me if they have learned this type of behaviour by watching their parents and repeat the cycle or not, or they feel that they have been so mis-treated by white people that they feel that there is no other way. Every decision they make is just that. Their decision. Their choice. I don't think I am being racist...just a realist as I have witnessed it. If someone wants to call me a racist I would appreciate it if you could put it in point form and outline why you believe that.

Just my $0.02

Could you maybe elaborate further? What cultures do you not like, and why?

Their may be justification for it, and disliking something is not bad, but if that turns to hate then maybe it is.

You are correct, it is their choice. However, none of us are perfect and humans are very much so influenced by the environment they were brought up in, so maybe accepting this as true will allow you to see their actions in a different light. Maybe then you will not feel so cold to them, as they may feel towards you, and thus you can show them that you still love them even if they don't love you. That is the only way to move beyond this, is it not?

Peace.

You mean like you mocking the idea that the Harvard test had any validity without even taking it yourself? Its kind of a hobby of mine to look for flaws in study design. Its actually a pretty good one. Almost impossible to cheat, and they correct for left right bias in the test itself.

No I just thought it was kind of funny you said, "I know I am not a racist, I took a Harvard test."

Anyways, if you are not racist then there is no more need to post in this thread. And don't be mad at me illusion, your still my friend.

I will not say what cultures I do not particualrly like because I need to live around them - and I do not want people to confuse the culture with the race.
But I can say I believe the often the culture is created or warped when germinated in the lower class of society - and I believe it exists in all races that are subjected to economically having the short end of the stick.
I think many people here who do have something against a particular culture or race will realise the race or culture falls in to one of the following areas:

1 The culture/race is economically challenged as a whole - you likely feel they leech & steel from society and are rude / dirty and possibly violent.

2 The culture/race is 'invading' - you likely feel they are rude, do not respect your customs, take your jobs and are genrally offensive.

3 The culture/ race is exclusive - you feel like they do not mix in to society, keep their money to themselves and amoungst themselves and do not make enough effort.

The culture I have had the most problems with would fall in to the first group. But I know it is not a race issue - because when I see my race grow up amount this culture they adopt it too.

I believe these problems all stem from an inbalance in the system that should have been corrected in the past from laws.

But thats just my opinion.

I will again direct you to my example of my grandparents. They could have chosen to live a live bemoaning the fact that they were left with nothing. No. They moved to a new country, learned a new language, worked their a**es off to pay for the bills, children, mortgage, etc. I guess what it boils down to is respect.

I have no respect for people that blame others for their problems. I have no respect for people that take and take and contribute nothing to society except abused and forgotten children. I have no respect for people that get hired just because they are the best of their race. I have no respect for people that blame all their problems on the way their ancestors were treated. This is for all races.

I'd say that the T&C of ATS generally discourages virulent racists.
There is a whole stream in conspiracy theory that centers only on race, but I chose ATS because it is different in that respect.
That being said, I think everybody is slightly racist.
I think a lot of racism lurks behind religious discussions, particularly on Islam.

I think forced non-racism and multiculturalism is also a form of racism.
I can face the world and treat everybody equally, but what is so wrong that when I - as a white gay man - come home, I like being with my own community? Does that make me a racist?

In SA I'm also tired of race being endlessly portrayed as a white/black issue.
I think tribalism between blacks, and especially issues of xenophobia with newer black communities and locals is far more violent.
In my town we now have 20 000 Somalian immigrants, for example.
With our already scarce resources our local blacks are not very pleased.
There is bigger racism between blacks and whites in their own communities.
So what is racism?

Hello, and Peace to all.
I can't say I hate any race, that is entirely counterproductive to my path.

But on the issue of American racism, all I really wish to address is Affirmative Action.
I feel it is becoming a bit overdue to end ethnically based policies in the workplace and schools. Whites are becoming minorities now. Blacks and 'minorities' are extremely successful today in corporate america, own businesses, and are among the highest paid entertainers of all time.

Obama, Oprah, Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Sonia Sotomayor, and any other successful 'minority' you care to name has pretty much proven what heights are attainable by all.

It does not matter which side you pick you will always be attacked. If you are against Illegal immigration you are racist. If you are in favor of illegal immigration you are a communist. If you are support Israel you are a anti Islamic. If you are against Israel you are antisemitic. If you support Palestine you are a terrorist. If you are against Palestine you are a Zionist. If you support gay rights you are furthering the gay agenda. If you are against homosexuality you are a a religious bigot. If you are a Democrat you are a extreme left wing hippy socialist. If you are a republican you are a extreme right wing Illuminati bankster. If you are for the tea party you are a gun nut religious wacko. If you are pro military you are a murdering baby killer. If you are anti-military you are a flag burning anti patriot.

Interesting game, the only winning move is to not play at all. Ejection sequence activated....3...2...1...outta here.

I favor my own race and im not ashamed to admit it. I think everybody does to a point.

The Blacks never seem to miss a chance to play the race card and hispanics don't respect this country at all.

My family moved out of our hometown as it was overrun by hispanics in about a decade. What was a nice neighborhood turned into blocks of glow in the dark ,flouresent colored houses, each with a Mexican flag being waived in the front yard along with half a dozen cars parked there. No longer could you walk down the street or go to the park without getting stared at or taunted in Spanglish.

If your area has a gang problem.. odds are its a black or hispanic gang.
