SOROS GROUP PLOTS 'GUERILLA WAR', 'SABOTAGE' ON FOXNEWS

www.politico.com

The liberal group Media Matters has quietly transformed itself in preparation for what its founder, David Brock, described in an interview as an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” aimed at the Fox News Channel.
The group, launched as a more traditional media critic, has all but abandoned its monitoring of newspapers and other television networks and is narrowing its focus to Fox and a handful of conservative websites, which its leaders view as political organizations and the “nerve center” of the conservative movement. The shift reflects the centrality of the cable

Media matters decided their going to attack Fox news? Obviously they have no positive clear message of substance and admittely just want to attack Fox. Typical, attack the messanger but don't fix the problems. Media Matters is a progressive socialist organization with far left beliefs who's message is no individual responsibility, let the government do it for you. No thanks.

Hmmm, I did not know ratings represented quality. Also, out of all the news outlets, which one do you think divides the people and creates animosity the most? They all lie, but Fox does the most since they are the "most powerful," and they are always in attack mode, right out of the gate, "the far left, secular, liberal progressive, blah blah blah...

Good riddance Faux!

why bother attacking only fox, media cable news networks work for the cable(caball), thus the same propaganda...and steve docey is a dick-wade, should of been dropped off at the funny farm a longtime ago. i doubt anyone in their right mind takes fox and friends seriously. they are pretty funny looking if you mute the volume...

And herein lies a serious problem with this post and the vast majority of "right-wing" comments about Media Matters: they are not a "Soros" group. They were not founded by Soros, and until very recently, never received funding from Soros. The guy who started MM was himself a former conservative reporter.

Soros announces FIRST ever contribution to Media Matters October 2010

The OP is also a violation of the posting rules here at ATS, for breaking news you have to copy the EXACT headline. The headline for this article is : Media Matters' war against Fox

Instead you changed the headline to read: SOROS GROUP PLOTS 'GUERILLA WAR', 'SABOTAGE' ON FOXNEWS. Which again reverts right back to the right-wing medias attempt to dismiss MM as some sort of Soros group. It isn't.

As far as MM's attempts to expose all of Fox "news" distortions and lies, more power to them. Fox "news" has obviously decided upon a formula of repeating lies and falsehood over and over until they become accepted as facts. Like making Soros into a bogeyman, then making false assertions that any political enemy of theirs is connected to him, which can then all be dismissed as some evil liberal plot.

I used to be surprised so many Americans could fall for Fox news' brand of hogwash, but then I had to seriously reassess my fellow Americans fact-checking, reading comprehension, and critical thinking abilities.

Propaganda in it's purest form. Plain and simple. This entire "Soros/Liberal media" hype that we see peddled by Fox and other Republican commentators only serves to separate and misinform. Facts are thrown to the wayside in favor of agenda and profit.

I'm sorry but this only serves to perpetuate that con.

Edit to add: Conservatives such as myself are very disappointed in those who claim to be conservative as well, yet disguise their true intention in the word "patriot". The ideology is dieing.

Lol, they FAILED right out of the gate, announcing their intentions.
Soros gave them money and now they change direction with a new stated purpose, and the liberal blinders can't see that in this thread.
Soros is getting old, the grave tugging at his shirt tails is clouding his judgement. I bet Murdoch is smiling with every Beck episode because he knows it's getting under Soro's skin.
This is likely just a war of Moguls that will eventually be fought with armies of lawyers in the courts.

"I firmly believe that respect is a lot more important, and a lot greater, than popularity." --Julius Erving

And one from my elderly mother regarding the meals in her nursing home which aptly sums up FOX NEWS: "The food is lousy and the portions are so big."

Touting FOX ratings in support of OP is patently absurd. (Note that Mod corrected original misleading headline)
Nonetheless those ratings are easily reconciled:

for 30 years, the only news available was left wing. the only time conservatives got any positive air time was if the left wanted them in office as well, like reagan, for example. otherwise, turning on the news during voting time was an endless stream of almost identical talking points on EVERY news program, about how the republican or independent candidate sucked. when fox came out, it was a shock to most conservatives, who had gotten use to being told what idiots they were for any number of reasons, starting with their religion and ending somewhere in the realm of what their supposed forefathers did a generation or more ago.

p.s. that's not to say that fox news is very convincing as a conservative news program. most of time they sound pretty much the same as the other news broadcasts, and sure have odd advertising spots (like lawyers trying to get people to file class action lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies. doesn't sound very business friendly to me)

Those numbers are in the thousands, so that's saying that Fox gets over a million.

I think it's kind of silly for anyone to single out any one network. If you're going to try to attack news, attack them all, not just the ones who are on the side you don't like.

The fact is that Media Matters is a decidely partisan Democrat apparatus. Soros has been funding Media Matters and MoveOn, Code Pink and many other organizations either directly or indirectly. The Democrat Party is now an arm of the communist party I'm sorry to say. How many members of the Congress are members of the Democratic Socialists of America? source:

well glenn beck did hammer media matters pretty bad, recently. something about them trying to crash the economy of the usa, by calling for people to all refuse to pay their mortgages. or some such. i'm not surprised that they are responding, although i'm still not convinced that fox is really a conservative news network.

When critics pledge that their mission is sabotage, they’ve essentially ceded that credibility from the start and MMFA doesn’t exactly overflow with credibility as an independent watchdog.
