Britain faces having to pay £3Bn to bail out Portugal

www.dailymail.co.uk

British taxpayers could be forced to pay £3billion to rescue the Portuguese economy after the collapse of austerity talks in Lisbon last night.
A massive bail-out from the European Union now looks like the only option – with the UK unable to abstain despite not being in the eurozone, according to the Open Europe think-tank

Just what is this about?

Britain is struggling financially and here is news that we may be bailing out portugal to the tune of £3Bn?

Hmmmm something doesn't seem quite right here, we are feeling the pinch financially and undergoing cuts into the billions and here we are giving £3Bn to portugal? I even heard on the news earlier that the euro's day's may be numbered and may fall because of this. So EXACTLY where is that money going???

3 billion eh. My country the Netherlands is going to pay 50 billion euro´s to save the Eurozone. It´s so ridiculous it makes me sick.

It just gets shoved down our throats, 7000 euro´s per household, money that probably will never even reach the intended destination.

I think the politicians just seem to send these large sums of money round in a big circle. A bit like a game of pass the parcel, where the winner takes all. The winners being those beedy-eyed two-faced lying bar stewards who sit
on their no good fat behinds in parliament, not the likes of you and me, who are meant to do something useful
for a living.

There is something VERY fishy here, here in the UK we have a defecit running into the billions and we are having to pay that in taxes and here we are giving £3Bn to Portugal? That is a sizable amount of money, about a quarter of what the defecit is I think.

But why bail out portugal when the euro is most likely going to crash? It's like plugging one hole in a sinking boat with a bit of tissue paper, yet the boat has many holes that are still leaking, it's a pointless and futile action. Which begs the question, where is this money REALLY going?

It is all just a big shell game. The money doesn't even really exist anyway.

Jeah, seems like money needs to be transferred before SHTF.

I can´t stand our prime minister acting all nonchalant about this, like we´re talking pocket change.

Your right, the money doesn't exist...

But the labour and products produced does, so why are they making us work more in order to create the money that doesn't actually exist? Just bit's of paper

Yes they are keeping us busy, but there's something here, they are gathering resources for something up and coming.

Any of you guys hear about this The strange case of Lord James and 'Foundation X'? The speech is online somewhere, I don't think the offer was accepted though?

Yes it is annoying. I know it's in our interest to keep the Euro from collapsing but where will these bail outs stop?

I’m all for sticking the crown jewels on ebay to ease our situation. She never wears them.

What do we as Brit's get from the government whilst we are struggling? 1p off a litre of fuel!

Yes it's constant carrot and stick isn't it

They think that 1p off fuel is enough to appease the british public,

It's funny how it's never the upper class elites that don't have to foot the bill, they always find a nice loophole, just like the new one that was created in the budget, if you donate to charity you get 10% taken off the inheritance tax, which for someone with a lot of money is quite a sizable amount.

Anyway, firmly back on topic

There is something VERY fishy here, constant bail outs and tightening of our money.

£3 Billion = a quarter of the defecit ??

In the UK the ANNUAL current deficit is running at around £ 142 BILLION
The TOTAL Current UK Deficit is around £840 BILLION

When they talk about REDUCING the deficit by 2014/15 then what they are saying is that the NEED to borrow £142 Billion per year (currently) will have been removed BUT that still LEAVES the £840 BILLION ''PLUS'' whatever else is added in the meantime !!!!!!

DO NOT FORGET that the LAST LABOUR GOVERNMENT are the ones who created this mess.....!!

When you hear ED Balls MP, the Labour Shadow Minister talking and blaming the current Government DO NOT FORGET that Mr ED BALLS was the one in the Treasury ADVISING Gordon Brown to spend spend spend etc etc and cause this mess......

With the collapse of the dollar, which is not that far away, it seems a nwo currency maybe on the cards sooner than we think.

RH08

When you start to understand the SIZE of the numbers then the scale is really just mind blowing !!!!

Also, I am not a great fan of politics BUT remeber this WHOLE mess WAS CAUSED by the last Government whom are now the ones complaining and critizing the current lot.......... It is easy to complain and critisize ESPECIALLY when you don't have to Correct / rememdy the situation you caused in the first place.......

The Labour Party make me Sick to my stomach !!!!

I have to agree with you jonoenglish,

Things do indeed to appear to be speeding up at an alarming rate, a few years ago I would have said that the collapse of the euro and dollar and implementation on the NWO currency would be a few decades off. But the way things going it really could happen within the next few years...

makes sense that they are recouping all the resources etc, in preparation.

This is absolutely pathetic and pointless and i've just read that we have sent HMS Invincible to a Turkish scrap yard and yet she is not even passed her sell by date....surely the money could go to keep her in service?!?!?!

I don't know what the Brits ever got out of getting in bed with the EU . Drain the wealth and the government becomes little more than EU regional managers but it seems like Europeans love huge disfunctional organizations like the United Nations and the European Union . More rabid radical Muslims than Tehran with a free ticket in and then cash for life . Wasting money , look at the National Health Service , the third largest employer on the planet behind the Chinese Red Army and the Indian Rail Service where 45,000 employees call in sick every single day and are never missed . No wonder a gallon of gas is 10 dollars and half the income goes to taxes . Over 4 million anchor babies , mostly from eastern Europe and every one along with their families are entitled the all Brit social services . You guys should take your country back . Brown sold all of your gold at $290.00 per ounce . These elites should be hanging from a bridge right beside the socialists who have their hands in your pockets looting everything they find . Now you pay for Portugal , screw Portugal . They borrowed the money to provide everything they can't afford while producing little of value . Socialism works until you run out of other peoples money and then the ponzi scheme comes crashing down .
