What better way to start something. Photograph it and then post it on the internet saying "Hey look what I found". How many copycats will start marking currency that way because they saw it here for the first time.
At least he is trying to do "something" to bring attention to the atrocious state our nation is in now. If this is his way of starting a trend, then good for him. Stop bashing and do something useful.

Who's bashing? I'm speaking my mind, which I have a right to. There are 25 flags so far. I have just as much freedom to speak from a different point of view. Don't be so sensitive,

One of my favorite quotes: I don't intend to offend. I just offend with my intent.

My daughter in college, and also my sister who is a wal-mart employee. Have both told me the same thing. Seems like its a college thing. The wal-mart by east tenn state , and the kids at walter state are putting these v's and v symbols on money and things. According to my college kid and her friends its like a "fight the power" thing. Its kinda informal group or clubs at the schools who believe they are wasting thier money and time paying huge sums of money for education with no jobs to go to after they graduate. Something to that extent. I'm an old guy and really don't understand all of it. Now that i know what to look for i see them in alot of places. Painted on walls and things i just ignored before. As i get older , i notice i miss alot of the graffiti and subtle things the kids are doing. I have noticed stickers in the back windows of cars with the red "v" and a circle. I always thought it was some kind of rock band or something. Interesting. Maybe the kids are not as much a flock of sheep as we thought. Or at least as i thought.

I'm honestly surprised people didn't start accusing me of this sooner as I fully expected. I have as thick skin as one can get so I don't get offended and actually appreciate the input into the thread.

Having said that I posted this because it seemed pretty cool people might actually start getting these dollars and question the meaning behind them and possibly lead them out of their zombie states of existence.

I figure it was something going viral because I found them in one day in two separate locations in a relatively small city.

hello!!!!????

that makes three time i've seen it...

it has nothing to do with reptilian aliens, the masons, a movie or a ploy to get attention, it IS from the v for victory campaign. like i said before, "you are the resistance" the answer to 1984 is 1776"?????? does any of that ring a bell? there is one post stating this one page one i believe, my post on page two and i believe a third post on page three.. **sheesh**

Interesting, I mostly use cash and have not seen any of these.

This reminds me of the school board shooter in florida, at the 10 sec mark you can see where this guy had drawn V in a circle with a can of red spray paint.

This isn't smart though, someone could get in trouble if caught. From US Code 18

"Whoever fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the mints of the United States...; or whoever fraudulently possesses, passes, utters, publishes, or sells, or attempts to pass, utter, publish, or sell, or brings into the United States, any such coin, knowing the same to be altered, defaced, mutilated, impaired, diminished, falsified, scaled, or lightened- Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

Meeehhhhh.....

Nope, it's definately the V from "V for Vendetta". Notice the similarities....

The fact that it's red with the 'V' extending outside of the circle is a dead giveaway.

But I mean, it doesn't really matter since they're both anti-government (besides the fact that Alex Jones is a fear-mongerer who spreads dis-info).

It seems to me, if it were a V for victory , one would burn or destroy the dollar instead of drawing a V on it and spreading it around like you don't mind it is a dollar or something. Only other reason I can think of marking a dollar like this is as a code to only accept specially marked cash while doing an illegal or covert deal. No V no deal. Or something along those lines.

Campaign of resistance or whatever is just a copy of "V for vendetta" .... you cannot argue with the marking style. Those people should try to invent a new mark.
This is breach of copyright, folks.

Although I agree originality would be a bit nice, I'm wondering if the point is to spread the reference to the movie "V for Vendetta" (which I have seen) to awaken people to how relative it is to the world we are heading toward.

If it were an original mark or design there would be nothing to reference and I think the reference is the point.

I honestly don't know if its intentional or not, we may be reading too much into this, then again maybe were not, time will tell.

Actually I think the arch trolls over at 4chan are responsible for this one. They've been campaigning for people to brand their bills with a V for some time now. The 'Anonymous' collective use the Guy Faulks mask from V for Vendetta as their symbol as well, and they have form for branding bills - a few years back they got hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of 'lion cash' into circulation, where they'd put the emotion for a lion '>:3' over the portraits.

It's still significant though, if anything captures the youth zeitgeist it's 4chan and its almost supernatural ability to predict and create the memes that define the internet.

Really scary that people steal the symbol of a fiction based movie and try to apply it to real life.

Before there was a "V",TV series or a book;there was a motorcycle club named the Vigilanties, that never disbanded like it was thought,an old patch design from then(1960-74)..Pueblo,CO,not to many of the oldtimers around.
