the ats awards?

wow, that was surprising. i just searched 'ats awards' and nothing came up.
has something like this ever been done here?
would it cause to much of a stir?
many categories come to mind,

poster with most stars and flags under their belt.
given and/or received

most controversial, yet polite?
who gets the ball rolling, yet is difficult to debunk?

troll of the year?

anyhow, i'm sure everyone gets the idea.
would this be possible, or just too difficult to achieve?

personally i think it could be fun, is it possible to set up a thread where members vote,
maybe a poll of sorts?

Hopefully this wouldn't be a catagory, most flags/stars does not equal the best posts. The biggest trolls can get stars and flags. Many flaws.

I can't remember there being awards before, but to be honest it would only cause bickering anyway. Too many egos that would be hurt.

I think that's a pretty nice idea.

We could have a lot of fun with something like a polling system where we get to vote for others in various different categories.

They do have a aprt of the site that gives mention to top posters an contributee's....

I would like to see more games on the live show where small cheap ATS store and swag...is offered as prizes....

Kinda Like ATS Jeopardy last unleashed show had....but it was all staff if I remeber correctly...
This could be worth looking into...member of the week an such, read and give awards to debate winners on air...prize is an ATS coffee mug...could help the show along a bit to IMO....

we used to have a way above top secret (wats) award that was handed out monthly. voting was done by the members who were given three wats votes a month and, at the end of the month, the with the most posts got a nice big medal on their avatar.

i wasn't necessarily speaking of the 'best', that could be a completely different category.

Haha...I did a whole writeup in the thread for the new systems a few months back, with a bunch of named categories and the Spiry Award n stuff but I can't find it.

I have tried bribery and it didn't work.

I think an ATS t-shirt or sweatshirt you could "buy" with a certain number of points, or given out by
the mods or adminstrators for excellence in a person's post would be popular with the members.

I'd love to be able to buy an ATS hoodie or something like that. Not with points but with money. It's a way for members to support the business other than being a part of the boards.

I know they use to be available and Springer sends out ATS stuff every now and then for contest winners and such. I'm sure SO is working on something of that nature, a store of sorts.

We'll just have to wait to find out .
