I have had a dream. I was in a airborne unit. Before jumping out of the plane,we would write letters.
I'm not sure who these letters where to, Our family? And while i was writing the letter,a man asked. What if we dont jump? the replie "Ill cut your fin head of and throw you off the plane."

So,what time and place and what units practiced this?

Those on a high risk important mission. Happens all the time. Don't forget to pull the rip cord and good luck.

appologies if i missread it - but no-one should be writing personal letters on the plane , several reasons :

1 - if the aircraft is shot down - letters lost

2 - if the aircraft crashes [ intact ] in ememy teretory - letters fall into enemy hands

Yea,your right. the letters must not be about the mission. I had that much of an idea to start with. Now,i am just looking for someone that has researched this practice,or has done it if it happens in todays day and age.
