Well, now that is interesting. JMA has it at 6.0, but has it at a depth of 50km while USGS has a 5.9 and a depth of 38km. You tell me, one or two?

Why such a big discrepancy in depth?

Be well

Well USGS has it at 38 as you say, JMO at 50 - but JMO only works in units of 10 so that could be 45 or could be 55. EMSC has it at 60.

Bidding is about to close. Going, going........

Oh hold on - a late bidder. GFZ Potsdam with a mag 5.8 at 49 km deep.

geofon.gfz-potsdam.de...

And finally, just as the bidding closes the Russians come racing over the finish line with a 6.4 at 33 km

Is it any wonder people get confused!!

Just added the Russians

line 2 because there must be some more.

I vote we call it the first 6.0 in 6 days.

Well that Mag 5 did release some tension, now back to "normal" activity, 27 on the 9th and 28 on the 10th making 55 quakes in 2 days and 111 for the last 7 days.
I get nervous when numbers drop below 100/week

Another Glacier quake yesterday. (different glacier than the last one)

EMSC now has it a 6.1
www.emsc-csem.org...

JMO has it in twice for sure. The update times are different but the quake details are the same.

ETA: Juast noticed that EMSC have dropped the depth to 30km when they increased the magnitude.

A mobile earthquake, huh?

I wonder how hard it is to back it in to its designated space.

If you don't think earthquakes come in clusters, just look at Central Asia at the moment. Sometimes there's nothing on the map. Today, there's a bunch.

Just for the sake of interest; this quake is in Tibet.

Nearby to this is the holy mountain called 'Targo Gangri Ri'.

To the West is Forbidden Lake Shun Tso. Tibet has about 200 lakes of which nine are considered holy but only two where outsiders are not allowed to go. This lake is fiercly protected and to the best of what I know - no outsider ever reached there - not even the Chinese.

The reason, little known - some very strange artifacts were found around this mountain and lake, what exactly I do not know (yet). I suspect the three Holy Brass Bowls of Tibet were found in this area. Presently two temples in Tibet has one bowl each, the third from Lhasa probbaly went with the Dalai Lama to Nepal is is hidden somewhere there.

It is said (prophesy) that when this mountain makes fire (Volcano?), the bowls will be re-united and war in the world will stop. Or it could also be that when the bowls will be united when there is a fire in the mountian and war will end. Somewhat strange to understand the chronology of these ancient writings.

The bowls: Well, they are the first original Tibet Singing Bowls and their appearance dates back to the Third Buddha. These singing bowls do have a kind of strange effect on us humans. I have quite a collection of the Thai version and 6 pieces bowls from Tibet/Nepal. Honestly I think they are like a drug addiction to me!

Ok

We are more aware than any other time in History. We can know real time news with a mere click. We can click and have knowledge at our finger tips. This is why I think collectively people are on edge. There is no "good" news anymore...good news just doesn't sell.

We are collectively now seeing our Governments for who they truly are and what they are about. Their actions or non action is quite clear.

EQ's and Volcanic activity is the Earth's History...it has always adjusted...and always will. Its the life cycle and frankly I think we have been real lucky especially with the latest X-7 Flare not being directed toward Earth.

I think that is why we are feeling more now than ever something is on the Horizon. We are trying to make sense of all the chaos. I honestly think if we were forced back into the dark ages we would live a more peaceful life...once again as a species.

I love my computer and talking with you guys here on ATS. My wide range of interested topics is all over this forum. I would hate to not have it.....but then again...the World needs a change. We need change but on a minuscule level.

I believe you when you say the EQ's are not coming at a higher rate. I believe your studies over my "feelings".

Just sayin..... (and sayin too much sometimes).
