A threat made against an American Airlines plane preparing to take off from San Fransisco International Airport has prompted authorities to ask the passengers to deplane and be rescreened, the Transportation Security Administration said.
A threat of a potential hijacker onboard an American Airlines 767 jet at San Francisco International Airport Thursday forced the flight to be delayed and the passengers rescreened, officials said.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Two people were detained on an American Airlines 767 aircraft Thursday after a phone threat was called to local authorities, a witness on the plane told KTVU.
Passenger Michael Kidd told KTVU he saw uniformed police officers handcuff a young man and a young woman who were sitting in the back row of the plane. They then were taken off the plane.
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The North American Aerospace Defense Command will send planes on training flights over northern California, northern Alberta and southwestern Alaska on Thursday. NORAD said Tuesday the planes will practice interception and identification procedures as well as responding to multiple threats.
