This will be short and sweet...I dont really even care to talk much about it , just feel its only right I bring it to attention.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt....even NASA>

I have a thread where I was needing moon phases for different dates...and started out using NASA as my source.

eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov...

Sure it says that the older the date, the more there can be error yada yada....but even the most recent year they lists of 1999 DOES NOT MATCH.....not in a way that is a reliable source!!

This is NASA right....the ones that went to the Moon....the Moon specialist....??? I ended up giving misinformation a couple of times due to this source

I noticed after a while that what I saw on Stellarium and what I viewed at the NASA moon phase calendar was not matching with each other. Frustrated, I started to check some other sources. I found one that seemed to match everything Stellarium was showing me with where the moon and checked it with recent dates and phase of the moon through heavensabove.com.....and found it to be a reliable source for moon phases!

Hre it is......

stardate.org...

So far I have found it to be perfect.

NASA....
You made me really
There is no excuse for such things! A simple moon phase!?!

Don't feel too bad, NASA has been a disappointment for forty years. You can't expect much from a government run money pit that claims to have lost all information to the Saturn five rocket.

Hi there!

Thanks for the reply and bumping this, so often things get burried in the dust. I think this is very worth noting. Of all things though, simple posting of the moons phase's? I figured that at least, they would no something so little like that.

Can't do anything else than to agree with you in this one. There really is no excuse for such failure in providing simple facts. Just out of curiousity, do you know why these numbers doesn't match (other than because NASA messed up all the data)? Have you contacted someone over there (at NASA)?

I have no idea why they dont match and it is frustrating to think about it. I have not contacted anyone about it but that is a good idea...I would like to know what they have to say about it.

I think that such a trivial thing as this is a must to get right. I mean, how should we be able to rely on them if they can't manage to get something this simple right. If you do decide to contact them, please post your reply here. It would be nice to see an explanation

I have lost all trust with NASA a long time ago. The only thing I defend them still is that other companies won't hire ex-NASA employees because they are "over-qualified" to do the job. That is so BS it ain't funny.

Why do people still expect anything other than lies and disinformation from NASA?

NASA lies.
