I heard that news on 1010 WINS New York radio. I checked for a text version on 1010wins.com but couldn't find it (nor anywhere on the web).

Can anyone shed some more info on this?

Thanks!

Here's a good place to start:

This ``potential'' to make close Earth approaches does not mean a PHA will impact the Earth. It only means there is a possibility for such a threat. By monitoring these PHAs and updating their orbits as new observations become available, we can better predict the close-approach statistics and thus their Earth-impact threat.

I'm more worried about the ones we DON'T know about....

Thanks for the link Chad...

Of course there is.

But you wouldn't bother to look for those would you?

Sliding Spring Survey

JSGA

Catalina Sky Survey

The Lowell Observatory

Spacewatch Project

Lincoln Labratory

Edit to add a couple more...

Kleť Observatory

Plaskett Supernova Spectroscopy Survey Program

The EUNEASO Project

DLR-Archenhold Near Earth Objects Precovery Survey

Next time you think of being a smart arse, don't.

Lol, asteroids or planets crashing into Earth.
I worry more about what I’m going to wear from day to day.
Reason why? I can do something about what I wear, I can’t stop a planet.
Plus chances are it would go quick anyway.
