How can I create cool avatars?

how can I remove that tan box which suppose to be clear?

Well I learned something, if anyone is having the same problem just 2u2 me if you can't find me here.

Here's what happen : I tried to upload my avatar, it got loaded pretty much ok, then in the Tutorial I was watching it came to the part about adding a blank or clear avatar, I didn't know where to find one so I googled it and found one that said it was clear no image in it, but when I added it, it came up with a tan box covering the face of my avatar. I still have not found one (Clear that is)but I found out how to remove the tan box.
Just leave to address link blank and it will take it away.

I used to use photoshop, but that computer died, so I downloaded the free software called GIMP. I watched a bunch of YouTube tutorials in one afternoon, and eventually figured out how to make everything work, like creating layers, layer masks, etc.

That's how i made my avatar. It's tricky, takes some practice if you are new to photo manipulation programs. But if you are really patient and skilled, you can make some cool stuff in Microsoft Paint.

Perhaps you should contact one of the well known avatar makers here and give them a 'rough' design. For instance, you could give them the avatar you have now as an example. They can then go to work of fully realizing the artwork into a finished piece.

There are many members who make avatars very well.

Mine was made by roswell1.

I quite like his work, personally, but as you can see there are plenty who do make them.

You may also want to do a quick search of Avatars on the ATS search and see if anything comes up too

I made a avatar as a .jpg that comes in at 18k and uploaded it and set it as my current avatar and yet it does not work.

Width=`153 Height=303

Does ATS need to approve them or something

I tried to make the perfect avatar the other night,spent hours on it but hated the way it looked when I had finished!!!

Gave up and just used one of my favourite paintings by Dali.

I think as long as you like it and you can spot it in a busy thread.......,sorted!!!

Not sure why your unable to put the avatar code in your avatar url box.

Did you click on the picture when you uploaded it, it expands the image and gives you all the codes you require. Just copy the avatar code hit the (green) ATS avatar then paste your code in the avatar box.

Job done.

i just kept clicking the upload button and setting the images as my avatar and exspected that to be all.
