It was my comment and I did not mean impeachable according to the actual law definition of impeachable.

What I meant, and what I still mean, is that there are certain traditions and certain protocols that every President should follow when speaking to anyone as the President.

Are there more heinous acts he has committed? Yes.
Does this override previous atrocities by previous administrations? No.
Does this symbolize the end times for America? No.

The bottom line is that it is incredibly disrespectful to the American people in my opinion and completely diminishes what our flag stands for, those that have lost their lives protecting it, and those that continue to do so.

Politicians change.
Speeches change.
Party lines change.
The crap that comes our of their mouths change.

The symbol of America should be, and should always remain, a constant in the forefront. It is a reminder, even in times of disagreement, that we stand united behind the symbol of our country. A symbol that encompasses much of our history and a symbol that is a beacon recognized by all that encounter it.

It is, is essence, what unites each of us in this country regardless of race, religion, politics, or wealth.

I was one of the more outspoken regarding this and have said myself that what he said was more important than the missing flag.

However, that does not mean that the absence of an American flag is not of importance.

I, above everything else, hope that at the very least this is the exception and not the rule.

It was his only solo press conference this year, as it is, it will probably be the only one.

His last solo press conference was 10 months ago.

I'm so glad I did not vote for this guy and what a slap in the face this is for all the Veteran's who served and died for this Country. I don't know about you guys but when he was in the running for President I could just tell by watching some of his speaches that he's a fake, just a guy trying to tell everyone what they want to hear for his own self gain and/or hidden agenda.

Sure, its just a piece of cloth......and the Constitution is just a piece of paper right?!

These days, some may regard these things as such, but its the deeper meaning behind them that make them important to American people.

If you cannot understand patriotism, especially around one of our biggest national holiday weekends, you are most likely not from this country, or simply out of touch...

A $100 is just a piece of cloth as well (not paper, look it up) but its the monetary value $100 represent that gives it its power.

So IMHO, it is a big deal.

You mean to tell me the most powerful man in the world cant send a runner to grab a flag from somewhere?

Oh no...Bush had a press conference with no flag too...plus he was in China when it happened...what? is he embarressed to fly the flag over in China? Is he trying to appease them? Is he secretly Chinese? Can he not find an American flag in China...they make most of them over there (where is the outrage about that???)??? What a traitor...he hates America...and he is Chinese...and a Buddhist...and gay...and a terrorists....and a communists because he visited China...and doors hate him...and he is a secret alien trying to eat all of our souls...and....

Here is the danger of symbols perfectly illustrated. We should not be united behind a symbol but united around an ideal. Anyone can wave the flag. As a matter of fact, people have done some pretty hideous crap over the years while waving flags (both figuratively and literally).

I don't want to see people conditioned to follow the guy with the pretty piece of cloth who's spouting lunacies and ignore the rational mind that skips the props.

Wrong. The press conference is available on YouTube. You can clearly see during the Q&A that there is NOT a flag there.

The flag has meaning whether or not you're too stupid to know it. The fact that it isn't there I believe has signifigance. I don't think it's an impeachable offense, but it is certainly worth talking about. I thought Obama was a socialist long before this stupid press conference, and I am certainly not alone in my opinion.

Because there are some people of low intelligence that can't seem to grasp that you don't need a symbol to uphold ideals of a country.

Some think that if a politician wears that little pin...it truly means they love America and they would never do anything to harm it.

Some think that if you aren't wearing that little pin (and your flag earrings, necklace, cufflinks, and thong)...then you hate America.

So instead of trying to speak logic and reason to the ignorant masses...he just put the darn pin on his coat.

My preference is to have a flag present at any gathering of people inside of the United States, or anywhere US Americans meet.
The Flag is our Standard. We do not pledge allegiance to a man but to our flag.
It stands for ideas we had as a budding nation and to the men and women whom have died for it.
Although I may not care where the nation has gone as of late, it is not too late to change.
But either way change or not that is my flag and my choice, and will be so until I die..
I will tell you that if your flag does not stir at least some flutter in your heart you are in the wrong country.

Well, I'll stand up for WWJFKD and his intentions because I know he didn't mean it in the way it's being misconstrued. I might not be able to vouch for everyone but I'll stick my neck out for WWJFKD.

Really. Franklin Delano Roosevelt (as already mentioned). John Fitzgerald Kennedy or 'JFK.' Lyndon B. Johnson. Dwight D. Eisenhower. John Quincy Adams. George 'Dubya' Bush., J. Edgar Hoover. Etc.

Many presidents were referred to in the triple-name sense or by a middle initial or a first initial and middle name.

It's a non issue, IMO. For those panicking about it, that might be an issue on your end.

Even the video of the school children adoring Obama went something like 'Mm. Mm. Mm. Barack Hussein Obama. Hm. Hm. Hm.'

It's only an issue if we make it one.
