Ok, RIDICULOUS!!! John Morton, the Director of Immigration and Customs Enforment (ICE) has openly refused to deport illegal aliens referred by Arizona.

Director of ICE Refuses to Deport AZ Illegals

So, this guy was appointed to uphold Federal Laws regarding immigration and customs and has openly refused to do so. WTF!? He should be FIRED immediately!

So what exactly is this guy's job again? Is he like a lot of the other wonderful government appointment officials like the heads of FEMA and the FCC. Does he just sit in his office all day eating Pop Rocks and watching Porn? Why can't these people enforce the damn laws on the book, especially since that's the only reason they're stealing four months of my yearly income. This Arizona law has made the Federal Government look absolutely pathetic.

Yeah, simply astounding, isn't it!? This Obama administration has been ruinous for this country. Why don't people get it? We cannot afford to wait until the next election to throw them out - they MUST be thrown out NOW!!!

This is hardly new information.

If I.C.E. had been doing their job all along, instead of saying "we don't have time", Arizona would never have had to pass any law granting them any authority over illegal immigration to begin with.

John Morton is currently refusing to uphold the Federal Laws in this country and subsequently should immediately be fired from his position.

It's one thing to disagree with laws and follow the democratic procedure to getting them changed. It's entirely another thing to simply ignore the laws already in place -- especially when you are employed by the Federal Government -- the very agency that made these laws in the first place.

He absolutely should be fired. He has a sworn oath to enforce the law. Thats the funny thing about the law. In general, those responsible for enforcing it have to enforce both those they agree with as well as those they disagree with.

You simply can not have law enforcement officers picking and choosing which laws they are willing to enforce and which they will not.

It is immaterial though. Arizona simply needs to deliver these folks to the federal holding facility and let the feds deal with them. To the extent that there is insufficient room, they should build tent camps and house them there in the same quality of accomodations that are used for our troops.

To pay for that, should they not get money from the feds, they should place a toll on the legal border in and out of Mexico.

This is a game of chicken and it is not going to end well.

I am wondering - can anyone answer this? What are OUR options when politicians who were appointed to their positions abrogate their responsibilities? Do we, the people, have any legal recourse against this?

It's an appointed position, not elected, so in short, no.

Shameful! So, the electorate has no recourse and is forced to continue to employ someone who has publicly stated that they have no intention of performing the very work that they are being paid to perform!

It appears that these politicians are excited about sending their careers up in flames. The electorate is going to speak VERY loud and clear come November!

They should write and pass their own deportation (from Arizona) law and then enforce it. They should put teeth into it. They should do the job the federal government has always said they would do but has not done. They should make so hard for illegals in Arizona that they know not to go there in the first place. The rest of the border states would then absorb them until it becomes completely unbearable at which time they would pass their own laws or the federal government would be forced to do their job.

This is ridiculous, but it is not insurmountable.

Is there any way to put this guy in charge or the IRS? How about the CIA? I can think of a lot of government organizations where it would be nice if the guy in charge just sat on his hands and refused to do his job.

Morton knows he can get away with not processing illegals as referred by Arizona, because the law is not being supported by either the
President or the Attorney General.

What he doesn't know, or hasn't figured out yet, is the first time one or more of those illegals causes severe harm, or even death to an
American citizen, and it is determined that he (Morton) failed to deport them as his responsbilities require, I can almost guarantee you that both
both Obama and Holder will drop any support of him like a hot potato.

Think scapegoat - "a person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place."

Politicians can be impeached...remember Nixon?

As far as this ICE director is concerned, he can be fired for insubordination for not doing his job.

This is a good argument against having political appointees in high level positions of the government. In many cases they are unqualified. Obama may appreciate this guys loyalty, but if he refuses to do the job he should be removed from the position.

The "Puppet in Charge" along with Congress are to blame not I.C.E.

I.C.E. has been starved of Federal Funding purposely.

The Multinational corporations "PTB" want America flooded with immigrants.
