Poll: Half of 'Birthers' Call it 'Suspicion'; A Third Approve of Obama Anyway

Still it's mostly Obama critics who suggest he was born abroad; two-thirds of those who express that view also disapprove of his work in office and view him unfavorably overall. That, along with other data, supports the notion that some of this view is an expression of antipathy toward Obama, rather than a firm belief he was born in another country.

This is rather expected as far as I'm concerned. In all of the debates we've had on ats about this... It's always been an extension of not liking Obama to begin with... Many times disguised as general concern

And wouldn't you know it... A portion of these folks are now saying.... Well maybe he's doing an ok job...

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Hunka!!!!

How the hell have you been man? I haven't seen your posts for some time.

On topic:

I never bought into the birth certificate issue. If it ever proves to be true I will deal with it then. That said, I approve of Obama as much as I did Bush...Meaning that if those two were arrested for the criminals they are I wouldn't miss them one iota.

Thats one heck of a conspiracy theory you have found there! A third of Americans aprove of the job obama is doing. Wait, I think a third of democrats support him to. Oh yeah, a third of independants do as well!
Wow. 1/3 x's 3 = 100, Yes, obama is are most popular president.

I do feel your story is a little miss leading unless the current regime is classifying obamas supporters, that might question his citizenship, as "Birthers". Until now, the phrase "Birthers" as been reserved for those who disaprove of obama.

I think you may not have read the article, or maybe even the headline.... it doesn't say 1/3 of Americans. It says 1/3 of those who believe Obama was born in another country other than the US.

Reading is truly fundamental, especially with a nuance such as that.

Where do you get that from? The term "birthers" has always meant people that think he was born in Kenya. It just so happened that most people that think that also dissaprove of him but um...

...you know the word is "birther." Maybe you never understood the connection between that term and the hunt for the fake birth certificate?

Hey Hunka! Good to see you!

I have, several times, in discussion in a Birther thread, heard people say things like, "But he's a socialist"!

When they start going after policy disagreements instead of the birther conspiracy theory, then you know there's more to it than their dedication to the Constitution. They just want him out and if the birthers can do that, then they'll believe it and push it.

Really strange.

It's hard to believe that people who think he was born somewhere else would support keeping him in office. I wouldn't. That's kind of odd.

Sorry if this is disjointed, I'm listening to the show and typing.

What??????? Are you claiming Obama wasn't born in Hawaii? I kid.

Thread title reminds me of:

"Baseball is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical." -Yogi Berra

Good to see ya Hunka! Miss all the great times swatting the neocons.
