Americans’ real personal income, excluding government benefits, has slumped 3.2 percent since January 2009, when President Barack Obama took office. During the first 15 months of President George W. Bush’s tenure, real personal income dipped only 0.4 percent.

Under President Obama, only federal spending is going up. Jobs, business startups, and incomes are all down. It is proof that the government can't spend its way to prosperity

Best just bend over and get ready because it is just getting started-The POTUS Obama raping of working Americans. I think Obama is lucky that We the People are so kind.

It won't take to much more for a march on Washington to remove the POTUS and his administartion. I really am beginning to think that they are seriously under-estimating the seeathing of the People.

So, even the press is starting to come out and ring the warning bells. Just a matter of time.

Don't you think that loss of personal income is due to the massive recession that began before he was even elected ?

If you look at personal income historically, the middle class has been taking home less every year since the mid 1970s. Reagan, and the GOP's "conservative" policies hasn't done anything to reverse that. Bush 43's policies dramatically sped up the process of transfering wealth from the middle class to the elite.

Transparent logic has no place in partisan madness threads...
Clearly Obama has sent a memo to every employer and told them not to increase wages, but instead send that money to his kenyan bank account to help fund the secret fema troops

OP,

You realize you are another casualty of "us vs. them" ?

Realize that this article is:

a) Totally Bunk

b) Wrong (for reasons previously stated by others)

c) Republican propaganda

All this is doing is playing into the hand of you now voting REPUBLICAN NEXT TIME instead of using your head to figure out that they are both the same people and they now control you for life.

Have a nice evening.

It is their fiduciary responsibility to "entertain" and not report news IMO.

- I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings (not really, LOL) but if you are buying into this you have been severely brainwashed.

- Best course of action would be to incinerate your voting registration card and stop reading/watching all Rupert Murdoch publications. That or have someone cut all your fingers off so you can't "pull the lever".

Yeah. everything was just Hunky Dory before Obama.
Lets look at the graph, shall we?
Personal Income
Looks like things started going down in 2007 doesn't it?
But this is, I'm sure, some phoney grapgh planted by the Socialist minions of Obama. All True Americans know Bush did a great job with the economy!

Umm.. ok

Do you think the entire USA economy started in January? Meaning we just set everything back to 0 when Obama took his oath and started over?

Doesn't take any extra reading, just some common sense (no offense).

Do you really think they set everything back to 0 when measuring or maybe they just started where Bush's term left off and waited for a rise or decline in personal income?

I'd like to see any evidence to the contrary that personal income has not declined also.

And also, how exactly does raising taxes during a recession contribute to raising personal income? How does passing a bunk law like the Credit Card Act which ended up tripling many credit card holders' interest rates, some to the point where they can no longer make payments, contribute to personal income? How do you justify either of those things when the middle class struggles to make ends meet and gas is on its way up again, currently at $2.75 for regular unleaded and expected to surpass $3 as we get into summer?

I believe you cannot blame those little gems on Bush, no matter how much you want to.

Are we looking at the same graph? The one you posted showed a HUGE dip beginning January 2009. That would be right as Obama took office, would it not?

Dude, it's because the decline was already happening long before Obama stepped foot into office brother.

Now "FAUX" is telling us everything has been going downhill (as the SP500 is up 65% or so.. lol) as personal income has dropped.

Well no # it has dropped, god what the hell.. are you kidding me this rampant decline was in the works long before Obama was even a senator. This really started at Greenspan..

Again, this article is laughed at by anyone who has been living and paying tax in the USA for over the past 10 years.

I wouldn't doubt it. Look at the unemployment rate. We've been sliding downhill for awhile now. It gets worse before it gets better though. For another cliche , you gotta spend money to make money. I truly feel, things are finally turning around and we will be much better off before 2010 is over.

Things won't turn around over night by any means but I think we're through the worst of it and I do see signs of things bouncing back as we speak.

I don't think it's Obama's fault though, I think it was on the decline when he got their. He couldn't stop the fall but he could cushion the blow and now I think we're starting to rebound. Now, in a year or two if nothing has changed then I will be rethinking this.

And what is Obama doing to reverse that negative decline? Can you tell me?

Right now I can list several things he's directly responsible for that's hurting the economy:

* raising taxes during a recession (we're still in a recession)
* The Credit Card Act
* Setting executive pay limits - tell me how when an executive of a company gets money and spends it they are called evil, yet when Obama gets far more money for an inauguration or some kind of party and spends it he is "helping out the economy"? By limiting executive pay, you may be making yourself feel better by punishing those "evil execs and CEOs" and "taking the wind out of their golden parachute" but where is that money going instead? Can it be guaranteed that it's going back into the economy being spent or is it going into some government trust fund?
* Where are the laws creating incentives for keeping jobs in the U.S.? The Health Care Law recently passed has the potential to create many jobs, but how many of them will go overseas?
* Spending, spending and more spending!

Not unless Doctor B failed to clean up the mess when he promised he could do so or if he made the mess a whole lot worse. Then what?
